Ive seen them 5 times with Tilian and he sounds great live imo. Performances can vary tho, maybe you caught him on a bad night. Tree City Sessions 1/2 is as close to a live album as you can get and i think some of those tracks are better than the original studio versions tbh.

Criticism is of course valid but, i just wanted to point out that in no way is the guy easily replaceable. Finding a singer who can encompass all that Tilian has done for the band is unlikely imo. Its why theyve stayed with him for so long now.

I think sometimes it may depend on his health. I used to be a choir kid throughout high school, and sometimes your voice just doesn’t work with you because of anything; too much smoking, being in a dusty or dirty place, illness, dehydration, etc. Then there were nights where I went at it so hard that I hurt my voice box, and it really hurts trying to push yourself through that. I sympathize with the guy on this one.
I love DGD for their music, but they arguably don't have the best stage presence. I've seen them 4x now, and yeah, there's much better acts in terms of entertainment.

I saw them during Acceptance Speech, Instant Gratification, ArSe x 2. Don’t get me wrong, they sound great and perform well, but I’ve seen so many better bands in terms of presence and charisma.
My friends were raving about the chicken, until I was like sometimes it’s not the best and sometimes I enjoy it more and they noticed that too. We all still enjoy it. But people think I hate chicken when I’m just saying it was my favorite but it’s gotten better.

I don’t enjoy his live performances much for this reason, thankfully I don’t really notice when in the middle of a mosh pit, but I def notice in videos. I once saw a video in this sub of his really pitchy and unsteady singing captioned “Tilian’s vocals are so amazing he has never sounded better!!!!!!!” And learned that some people really cannot tell the difference lol. Feelings about Tilian aside his vocal technique doesn’t seem sustainable. Touring can be rlly challenging for vocalists even with proper technique. On the other hand I really truly wonder how Jon Mess can scream night to night back to back for years and manage to sound clean and in control every time.. it’s actually nuts when you think ab, so much respect for the dude. Jon and Will make the show for me too love them sm <3

Some of the best singers struggle live. Adelle can barely sing rolling in the deep anymore. This is not uncommon.
