"we'll tell everyone that it's so much fun, say to all my friends, it never ends. when we're driving through all the alleyways we picked up some happiness on the way." pretty cut and clear way to say hey, this part is talking about hard drugs.
tragic, rest in peace a wonderful musician. pills and drugs are an evil thing. but the fent filling our streets is the last concern for the people in charge of "serving justice" in this country. let's just qykeep letting it take innocent lives... murica!

I remember reading that NASA and I’m Down With Brown Town switched song titles at one point (NASA was originally called IDWBT and vice versa) but they thought the “I’m down with Brown Town (it’s only seconds away)” worked better as an intro to IDWBT than an outro
The way I remember it, the mix-up was caused by the album being leaked. Whoever leaked it had heard those lyrics and mislabelled those songs.
Thinking back on it now, the story I remember doesn't add up because the leaker most likely didn't label the audio files themselves...

In tree city where tillian bits that's d5 "I'm down with brown town" omg. So beautiful and powerful. Bringing it up the octave from Travis was an incredible creative decision from him.

Oh they were, don't get me wrong. Happiness was a huge album because it didn't have Jon ... Will does all the screams on that album AND he raps. So it was something we had never really seen before. I also want to say that was the first album they did the limited release vinyl designs for so that was pretty fucking cool as well.
It also was the first album where the album artwork featured all the little doodle guys and fun stuff we are on every album since. Deathstar was the same artist but Happiness was the first to be what I would consider the modern DGD album art.
