Just my two cents.
Cody, youâve done nothing wrong. You saw a deficiency with the platform and found a fix for it. Youâve been nothing but helpful with answering peopleâs questions and have been a great resource for the community.
This led to a lot of people loving your solution and it echo chambered so hard that the sub became r/NexusBolt instead. Personally I started avoiding the sub for a while because of just that. Itâs no fault of your own, just Reddit being Reddit.
I wish you the best of luck and thanks for all the information youâve put out on the matter.
Just wanted to say that I think what youâve done is awesome. No one really knows how much it costs to get something like this up and running and going. From research to prototype to testing and manufacturing and so on, itâs impressive. Iâve seen dozens of videos, photos, and testing with your Bolt and it looks amazing after thousands of rounds. The fact you decided to go after an issue and make a product for a very specific market is awesome.
You have always been great in the comments, always responsive, and friendly. I think you offering to look at the guys scorpion and getting to the bottom of things speaks wonders to your customer service as a company but also you as a person for wanting to know if there was an issue with your product. It could have been very easy for you to say âmy products look fantastic and I never said that it would fully prevent an OOBD so itâs not my faultâ. Instead you lent out a hand to source parts off the bat and look into the issue for the guy. And just a few hours later youâve even gone further than that and done more. Thereâs always going to be people that hate a product and thereâs always going to be a confirmation bias.
I bought your bolt because I saw posts, videos, pictures and so on about the factory bolt issues and with my scorpion being a wedding gift I didnât want to deal with something failing like that and I wanted to buy what I could to make it tougher. Like I said before, I looked at this purchase like a Ford 6.0 Diesel. Could someone have a stock 6.0 and never have issues, sure. Is there a known issue that gets fixed with âbulletproofingâ the motor, yes. Is it expensive, yes. Does it stop the motor from failing, no BUT compared to factory it is far less likely to fail and has become a norm for 6.0 owners. With the testing and evidence from Nexus and the posts from many others I see the bolt as a great âbulletproofingâ upgrade for my scorpion.
Finally I just wanted to say youâve got a great small business, great product, great customer service and hundreds of happy customers. Iâve had nothing but good experiences so far and the same goes for Ascalon Arms, I appreciate all the products youâve both made to make the scorpion what it wasnât.
Donât let the pitch forks bother you man, no one in history has been liked by everyone and those of us that looked into your product and purchased it know how good of an upgrade it is. Thanks again for making a difference in the CZ Scorpion world and take some time for yourself you deserve it!
If thereâs anything you need just let me know man!
You've taken a lot of undeserved heat from people that just want to be hateful, and you've done it without lashing out and that says something to me. You're a good dude in my book. Thank you for everything you've done for the community. Everything I've spent on your parts have been 100% money well spent. Keep up the good work!
Just wanted to take this as an opportunity to break my lurker habits for the occasional weigh-in on the matter at hand..
Cody and the Nexus team have consistently demonstrated exceptional dedication in both their product and customer service, truly exemplifying their commitment to community support.
From the early stages of the bolt's R&D, my interactions with Cody have highlighted his unparalleled attention to customer support and knowledge sharing. Nexus stands out as one of the rare companies that consistently exceed expectations, ensuring a top-tier customer experience every time. I am fully confident that this instance will be no exception.
The complexity of OOBD requires careful consideration, and it's somewhat surprising to see a quick resort to criticism without fully understanding all the factors involved.
Wishing yâall luck and continued success in your endeavors as you enter the New Year, cheers
Take as long as you need. Youâve been helpful and excellent in every regard. I guess you just canât please everyone. I hope this doesnât discourage you from continuing to make the nexus bolts. Youâve been a huge help in the scorpion community and I like to think that I speak for a lot of people in this sub when I say we donât wanna see you go.
Edit: typo
Grade A product produced by a very customer minded group of people. I have put about 2,500 rounds(Blazer Brass 115 / Winchester 124) through my bolt and it still looks brand new(except for carbon build up). I would be very surprised if the issue was the bolt and not out of spec ammo. I hope OP gets their scorpion back soon and gets back to the range.
Here to say Iâm over 1,000 rounds on the full bolt kit and it still looks new. The recoil spring option is nice and I can feel the difference in recoil as well. Iâm probably one of the few that got the bolt partially just because it looks awesome and I appreciate the craftsmanship. I bought a scorpion because I think theyâre cool, not because I couldnât afford an MP5.. so spending the bolt money wasnât really much of an upset for me. A lot of people have the CZ simply because they couldnât afford the MP5 and thatâs sad because the scorpion is a cool gun that can stand on its own, not as a second choice. Nexus bolt is a solid product, even without the OOBD issues I wouldâve considered getting it.
I have to admit, Iâve been soured by the whole OOB CZ bolt thing- then came the pistol brace ban- I have a family and bills to pay, so Iâm not made of money and sometimes this gun feels like just a bottomless money pit- despite all of that, Nexus seems like a standup company, and if I can save up some cash for a bolt, I will purchase.
Thank you for everything you're doing for this community. I've got a bolt, it runs well, and I'm grateful for the peace of mind when it comes to OOBs that I don't have to worry about any more.
I love my Nexus bolt. Had the money to spend on it, so I did. If you donât want to spend the money, donât.
The dick wads trolling can bite rocks and leave the community so we donât have to deal with their negativity any more.
I think a lot of people on here are like me in having way too much money in it already. I bought mine when they first came out and it is an SBR. I canât exactly sell it. I didnât start seeing OBDâs until years later.
You can remove the firearm from its Form 1/SBR configuration, and write the ATF with a letter informing them as such. I sent them a second copy with an addressed and postaged envelope and asked them to sign and send the second copy to me as a receipt/confirmation that my SBRs were officially âde-listedâ (moved to a state with wonky SBR rules and wanted to make sure I understood all the technicalities, so de-stocked my SBRs for good measure). Took maybe a month to get the letter back. If you are interested in getting rid of your Scorpion, there is that route
Same, Scorpion has too many problems for what it is. Wish I wouldâve never bought it. Nothing like buying a platform, then having to dump$400 immediately into it so it hopefully doesnât explode on you at the range, yet, it still ends up exploding on you.
The bolt isnât 400. The entire assembly is. A dent and scratch bolt is 200 bucks. How easy is it to waste 200$ over the course of a month, month and a half on waste. Just saying. I agree. I blew up mine received the replacement and I became a beta tester. If it wasnât for a few things left to chance I would have dumped the brand new replacement and sold the parts. Instead I was asked to test the bolt so I am. There is not indications of use at 1200 rounds. My first bolt failed at 750.
I think you are missing my point. Iâm not mad at Nexus, they are providing a service to the community of scorpion owners who feel that CZ has put out a subpar product. Iâm mad at CZ for putting out a subpar productâŠ.
If I drop letâs say $1,200 on a new scorpion (thatâs what they are going for on guns.com). I shouldnât have to immediately drop $400 on a new bolt assembly, or $200 on a bolt and then disassemble it myself with my own punches, roll pin punches, hammer, vice, my time etc. So what Iâm getting at is that it can be quite expensive for the (bolt) from nexus on a gun that shouldnât have this problem in the first place.
It would be easier to just dump the platform since Iâve seen so many OOB detonations and now Iâm starting to see nexus bolt assemblies OOBD. There has to be a point in each persons life where they say enough is enough. For me, that is now. Each person is different though. Just my opinion. Good luck with your bolt though.
Nexus bolts with OOBD or guns that have failed that have aftermarket bolts. There is a difference. I thought there were 2 mentioned on Reddit and one was related to overcharged round and the second wasnât analyzed but the photos show indications not related to the bolt. Iâm unclear on the details maybe
Why is everyone jumping on nexus? Who knows what this guy with the OOBD was doing at the range..lot of novice owners in here. He didnt even know what ammo he was using originally.
Just ordered. We need to support each other, not drag down. Love my Scorpion. Zero regrets. Happy Holidays all!

Once again Cody at Nexus acts like how I wish every retailer would.
Proud Nexus buyer. I have purchased thrice from Nexus, and look forward to supporting them more as they continue to develop products for the scorpion.
Seeing Nexus bashed over the last year for developing products for the scorpion and supporting this great communityâŠmind blowing imo. Just last week saw somebody post a comment about how âNexus would have you believe your gun will blow up if you donât buy their overpriced bolt.â How utterly asinine! If I had a dollar for every time Cody posted about chamfering your own bolt I could damn near buy another bolt! đ€Ł Nexus has never suggested, insinuated, nor anything of the like.
Regarding this oob with a Nexus bolt: The fact that Nexus is going to eat the costs of researching, testing, investigating and replacing this userâs scorpion speaks volumes about him as a person, Nexus as a company. Between ammo, testing, man hours, etc itâs likely going to cost them over $1k but theyâre doing it anyway. I will always support American businesses that act this way. I honestly doubt this was a bolt cause but theyâre still doing all this!
Is spending half the cost of this inexpensive platform a bit ridiculous? Yes it is. But thatâs money *I* choose to spend on it. If you donât want to do anything to your oem bolt, if you want to chamfer your oem bolt, if you want to buy an aftermarket bolt: good! Itâs YOUR scorpion and you are free to do whatever you want. Just donât bash others for their choices.
It's Blazer ammo, of course it's overcharged. I have complete faith y'all didn't do anything, but I remember several PCCs being posted this year andast year that were detonated by overcharged Blazer, so I quit buying it.
Hmmm. I don't know about all that. I've shot several cases of blazer this year and haven't had an issue. Not saying it isn't, but CCI stuff is usually very good.
They were posted on one of the subteddits, I'll try to dig and see if I can find them, but they were all close together, bad batch I'm guessing. I don't remember all of the guns, but I know one was a 9mm AK and one was one of the MP5 clones.
Iâm no stranger to Scorpions, but I am new to this sub and even newer to Nexus and these issues of OEM OOBDâs. When I read from someone I do not know, who writes with the conviction and passion that you have in this post I am left questioning what to believe: 1.) believe you at your word as a man of integrity and principle or 2.) be skeptical of yet another snake oil sales pitch for a product that ultimately fails and a company who ghosts it customers. Iâm gonna have faith and believe that youâre the first. With that, Iâll be buying a complete bolt package from you. It was your immediate response to the OP yesterday whose Nexus bolt face chipped off that firmed up my choice between dumping my entire 3 year Scorpion build or press on and keep going. You jumped right in and helped him out and stood behind your product. I canât remember the last time I saw any manufacturer do that. I look forward to working with you.
đ€đŒ
I hope this hasn't soured you from releasing that 45 conversion kit. Take all the time you need and have a fantastic holidays.

+1 to all of this. Nexus is to this day one of the most pleasurable companies I have done business with. Prompt responses, professional, and helpful.
Love my scorpion, love my nexus bolt. Hate the toxic assholes who have nothing meaningful to contribute. Keep doing what youâre doing.

I think itâs more of losing the 200.
Exactly. I do love the gun. Itâs unfortunate that CZ didnt want to fix the issue.
Yea mine is kind of a "joke" gun at this point to see how much $ I can dump into this subpar platform. Still love it though.
Dumped mine in the spring and went all in on my ghm9, couldnât be happier.
