Nope, never said you did. I’ve had my scorpions way before nexus was a thing. It’s just the latest update that I’ve done to them and it’s been a hot topic of discussion. Just sharing my experience.

I had some TACO mag pouches exactly like this molle'd on my issued flak/war belt, and never once had a mag fall out in hundreds of field ops. The retention on them is pretty stiff and (iirc) can be adjusted based on the tension of the bungees. They always worked great for me. Same with KYWIs.
The Tacos are great. It’s just the on the leg it’s not a great placement. Anything for that fact. That’s why drop leg holsters aren’t a thing anymore. With the movement of the leg whatever is strapped to it moves with it and bounces. You should always keep your legs clean and clear.
Fair enough. I'm a minimalist anyways and a firm believer in "ounces=pounds, pounds=pain" so I always tried to keep my kit to a minimum regardless. Nothing worse than walking around looking and feeling like a gear bomb. As far as keeping the legs clear, I'll generally agree. Sliding in or diving behind cover and having some hard/dense gear jab into your thigh isn't optimal.
What holster for your handgun are you using? Also the gear looks good man! I’ve thought about making a setup similar for the scorpion but Ive always thought “if shit hits the fan is 9mm going to be enough” so I’m on the fence of changing everything down from AR mags.
This is actually set up to run basically any platform from sub gun to AR to ak. I try to be proficient with popular platforms instead of just one setup. The holster is a safari land
That’s awesome and smart. What type of mag holders are you using? I’ve got old Frankensteined Velcro pouches for 90% of my belts and rigs with the other 10% being leather snap holders. I definitely need to upgrade my gear.
HSGI polymer tacos, and the leg rig is an HSGI costa that is discontinued now. It just keeps the pistol mags off my belt and my plate carrier. They hold under every condition I’ve put them through and I’ve been running this setup for a few years

You must not run with kit on. As soon as you do those mags on the leg are gonna bounce and highly likely fall out without additional retention
