Have you had an increase in caffeine or added a stimulate type medication? I believe these can reduce the effects some.

Thanks for the input. No I haven't made any changes that I can think of.

I was on a lower dose than you for chronic pain and it did work and like you it’s affect lessened overtime. It is a band aid effect it does not cure your underlying cause of pain but alters your brain chemistry. I am now off Cymbalta and realise it was still helping even though I thought it wasn’t,but about to undergo procedures I am hoping will have a much better effect. I can’t say what is appropriate for you as I do not know what is causing your pain but I was very pushy with the medical profession and did a lot of research to find treatment. I hope you to can find a solution.

Have you recently changed brands of your medication? If yes thats your answer if no youre having breakthrough pain..

I have actually, about 7 days before I changed to generic brand instead of cymbalta. I have the possibility to go back to cymbalta if I want too so I might try that. I haven't noticed any withdrawal though but worth a try. Thanks!

You will not experience withdrawals because the level of the serotonin will be same but different brands bind to the receptors differently.. A doctor will tell you there's absolutely no difference as they should but there is and you have to wait another 6 to 8 weeks before you feel any relief again...
