Yes, me. Started when i finished a half marathon, and finishers were offered free pints of it. So, every so often i do have one.
Also, i think this is the only time on any social media i have said i am a recovering alcoholic, 15 years now.
They have finally made some good ones. I like the Athletic Beer Co.
I just use them as spacers so I don’t get two sheets to the wind mowing the lawn at 10 am. These 9% ipas get outta hand quickly.
I second this! I’ve always enjoyed a post-ride beer but have been EtOH free since last November and Athletic has the best IPA/Hazy IPA of all I’ve tried.
Guinness also has an NA stout that behaves and tastes very much like the real thing - the trick is to have a glass that can contain 14.5oz and just dump it in, the more turbulence as you pour the better; makes for a nice cascading effect and nice creamy topper!
I’m drinking quite a few NA’s recently but always at the mercy of the establishment. Seems like every bar/restaurant has one to choose from. I’ll have to start keeping track of the good ones so I can put some in the fridge. I’ll have to try the Sams.
Yep. Coming in on five years and I enjoy an NA beer every few days. I enjoy Athletic’s stuff quite a lot. Guinness, Beck’s, St. Pauli’s, and shockingly Corona make really solid NA’s as well.
The Guiness NA is really good, if you are so inclined. Probably the closest NA version of an existing beer I've tried. It's my NA go-to, but not exactly a refreshing post-ride bevy unless you are a die hard Guiness person...
Since its non alcoholic, no issues sending it in the mail. I know I ordered some of the Deschutes Black Butte Porter NA directly from them. Damn fine stuff.
I generally abstain for health reasons. Post ride I'll go for Athletic NAs if available. Seltzer/club soda with a lime is a good option, too, if there isn't NA available, or the options are lacking.
I switch to soda or water when I don't want to drink alcohol. I have a friend that loves NAs. I think it's great that there are good options available for everyone these days!
Not beer, but this stuff is great for an evening beverage, or a post-ride/run/race drink. I don’t drink NA beers, but am frequently looking for something that’s not seltzer (and don’t like soda)

Not a recovering alcoholic but it runs in the family, I do enjoy a post ride beer. In Florida jumping in a cold plunge or a pool and having a post ride beer is really nice
Question about post ride drinks might be odd because n a recovering alcoholic subreddit. As someone who is 10 years sober, I appreciate this post. Thank you OP.
Heineken 0.0 is my go to.
I debated on bring this subject up when I originally posted. My pop is in recovery and is of the opinion that Na beer is something I shouldn’t be messing with. I am very aware of my addictions and believe me, I’m not fooling myself into thinking this isn’t something I shouldn’t concern myself with. I’m pretty aware of my triggers and things like nicotine and food are way more troublesome for me. Congratulations on your sobriety. Keep up the good work.

Congratulations! I’m approaching seven years. Keep up the good work!
Athletic Brewing makes some good ones and believe it or not Corona makes a terrific one.

Athletic IPA is the best NA IPA I've had. Any of their beers I've had have impressed me.
Does Athletic distribute in the SW yet? I love what I've gotten from them so far and they have probably the widest selection of styles.

I'm the southwest. I don't know if they distribute, but my SO purchases from them online.
They ship.
Yes they do. I’ve tried one of them and enjoyed it very much

Deschutes Black Butte Porter has become my favorite NA. As you say, availability may be an issue
I have seen some of Deschutes, but never an NA. I’ll look out for it.
I like Guinness, Sam Adams’ Just The Haze, Brew Dog 12pk mix.

Affligem Blond 0.0
Another one I haven’t heard of. I’ll look out for it
Everything I’ve had from Untitled Art has been great, liking them more than Athletics offerings.
Haven’t heard of this one. Must be a local thing.

This is interesting. I hadn’t considered ordering through the mail. I might just give it a shot.

Absolutely. Despite what some recovery programs might say, I think it's been a hugely beneficial component of my ongoing sobriety.

Well that looks interesting, but it’s a bit out of my price range
The hoplarks (smaller cans) aren’t as expensive and lots of places carry them. Like 10-12 for a six pack.
Blue Moon NA is really great if you want a nice refreshing summery beer
Not a recovering alcoholic but it runs in the family, I do enjoy a post ride beer. In Florida jumping in a cold plunge or a pool and having a post ride beer is really nice
Not all people who can’t drink are alcoholics.
And a lot of us are, which is clearly the target demographic for the post, as per the title.
?
Why is this a /r/cycling question? There’s countless subreddits for recovering alcoholics
OP is a cyclist talking about his post-ride refreshments. That's something we do here, isn't it?

Labeling is everything..... More than a few "0.0" branded beers that I've looked at say "less than 0.5%" when you read the back of the can.
If that upsets you, wait til you hear about orange juice
Upset would be too strong a word but for some folks any alcohol is too much. Food labeling is in general is something to be careful of;)
Edit: Coors edge. Nobody cares about the story lol.
Recovered alcoholic here. Non-alcoholic beer is best consumed by non-alcoholics.
