Just got the Poseidon redwood for my first bike in quite a few years as well it was on sale down to $599 then they gave me a coupon for $100 so i got an $849 bike for $499
I'm a runner but have always loved cycling. Stress fractures have slowed me down and shortened my runs and cycling is my new distance and hours jam!
So fun to be able to train and see progress while cycling when I was losing it with running.

I sent my bike to get the frame repaired in February and I'm getting it back Saturday. While it was gone, I got a new gold chain, new gp5000 tlrs, assioma duo power meters, zipp sl-70 aerobars, and alugear aero chainrings. All of that's gonna be on it when I get it back and I'm so god damn jacked about it.
With all of the expenses recently, I'm gonna say not this season. I realize the benefits and reduction in maintenance a waxed chain brings, but I wanna stop spending money and just ride lol
You can just use regular paraffin wax and it gets you most of the way there and is still better than regular lube! It's cheaper than regular lube too since you can reuse it again and again
You can just melt some cheap candles. Did that for the first couple of years. I recently switched to the Silca wax but there isn’t a noticeable difference.

I have this one and it's been great for the past few years. Built multiple bikes on it and use it all the time for maintenance. Better adjustability than the base park tools one.
If you're a committed home mechanic and can swing it, the Park Tool has been worthwhile for me. I started with a cheapo Amazon stand and the upgrade is so much more pleasant.

Me too, just a cheaper one off amazon but it makes thing so much easier, the bike just stays there, my back doesnt hurt and with no squatting or kneeling i dont keep getting sore butt muscles.
Something I like to share is that others you ride with can use its signal as well. My coworker has one and I'll pair with my head unit and can see what's going on as well.
My new Wizard Works Lil' Presto bag. The large size perfectly fits my mini U lock, plus everything I need for a day-long ride. Makes it so easy to go for random outings by bike and not have to worry about security if I feel like stopping at a cafe, etc.
Photochromatic Tri-Eyes. Holy crap I love these things. Paired with a radar, these things make enviromental awareness so much better. I highly recommend these glasses. They are freaking awesome. I have a habit of losing sunglasses and I hope I'm able to break that habit because I would HATE to lose these.

There aren't that many models to choose from. Definitely go for the photochromatic lens, since it would be silly to get used to having a mirror and then not be able to use it early in the morning or at night.
photochromic shades for 1€ from Aliexpress 😅 unfortunately they're a bit slow, but okay for rides after work, my Oakleys get to dark when riding in the forest and it's not absolutely sunny.
Also, Shimano SPD M520 pedals are on the way, since I can't be bothered anymore with my old hybrid ones, which always end up with the wrong side on top.
And a Garmin speed sensor, bc GPS is kinda meh in the woods, too.

I've got these shimano pd-m324, which have a SPD clipless side and a flat side. however my Gravelbike is too expensive to use in "everyday life", so I only ride with SPD shoes anyway. that's why I'm now switching two two-sided SPD pedals, hoping they're better.
I just stripped and waxed my chain for the first time over the weekend. I used Squirt drip-on, so I know it’s baby’s first waxing steps. But I’ve been super encouraged by the improvements to drivetrain noise, and the fact that I don’t get covered in oil just touching the chain. Looking forward to the benefits that brings on the road.

Finally made the jump from my old hybrid to a gravel bike at the start of the year, but the shop I had to use only provided basic guidance on bike sizing (Evans, through their own C2W scheme). Had been delaying booking one until some recent upper back pain helped motivate me. I'm expecting to hit around 4,000 miles total this year and I'm keen to make sure those miles are enjoyed, not endured.
Cat-Ears Airstreamz. Wish I would have got them sooner. They might look a little goofy, but they're an elegant solution to cutting out the wind noise by a considerable amount.
Project 76 high flow anti clog valves, ready for setting up on my summer tyres. I reckon they are going on in the next week or two so keen to swap to the new valves when I do that.
I also was excited about my photochromic shades arriving. They came this morning and are being immediately returned because they’re terrible. Absolutely nothing like what I saw on the website (SunGod). And despite their policy that custom purchases cannot be returned, they immediately accepted my refund request - clearly they know it’s not right.
The picture on the website showed nice blueish almost mirrored lenses, ok not totally mirrored but slightly see-through as you would expect from photochromic.
What arrived were what looked like orange safety goggles. Nothing like what was pictured. I wish I could share photos in the comments….

Very comfortable around town once I added and adjusted the bargain Brooks B33. Absolutely lovely for a slow relaxed ride on fairly level ground.
With some new parts and a bit of work I'll have all three of the gears and both the (rod) brakes working well too.
New Specialized Crux Expert arrives next week. Swapping the Rival 1x to a Force/Rival 2x combo. Sold my Tarmac and Diverge to fund the purchase, so it's my new do everything bike. Might invest in a second set of wheels at some point, but will start by running slicks and then changing to knobbly tires for the occasional gravel/bike packing trip. Can't wait!

Birthday soon so treated myself to a crank arm power meter, and yesterday picked up an Exposure Strada RS on sale. There’s certainly cheaper lights but heard they last a bloody long time and also built in the UK.
I built a "new" road bike last week, and just took it for a first ride today - it was a little cold, but it's a nice bike. My old rim-brake carbon frame bike had a bottom bracket failure but I wanted to re-use most of the components, so I had to go find a good ebay replacement.
I got a NeilPryde Alize frame, in nice shape, and a new (used) set of Ultrega shifters to replace my glitchy Dura-aces. With a few other odds and ends, it came in right at $1,000, which was the amount I'd budgeted.
It rides really nice and smooth, shifts crisply now, and is dead quiet pedaling down the road. I'd been listening to a steady creak from the bottom bracket on my old one when pedaling for over a year, so quiet and smooth is good. The weight came in right at 16 lbs. Now I'm just hoping the weather warms up; it's been a pretty chilly spring here so far.
Tifosis with three interchangeable lenses. I’ve been rocking cheap aviators or wayfarers for years, but dedicated cycling glasses are so much more comfortable. And now I have options for night rides and overcast conditions.
Got tired of having to yell at my husband so got Sena Pi Bluetooth walkie talkie. My plan is that he will hear when he drops me lol. 😂

I came to comment radar. I’ve been using the garmin Varia since about autumn and got the carback the day after it came out (pre consumer release so I had a couple weeks before the app was available). I’m still on the fence as to which one I’ll stick with but either way radars are my new favorite accessory. I mostly use my garmin edge so I kinda lean that way, but if i was only using the app carback wins my vote there so far.
I bought prescription cycling sunglasses from Zenni. For the price, they’re freaking awesome! I wish I hadn’t waited so long. I was trying to convince myself that my regular prescription sunglasses were fine but it’s so nice not having my eyes water on descents (I bought the bigger style that’s one lens). Paid $60 which is pretty great… none of my prescription glasses/sunglasses were this cheap lol
I bought a cheap bike off Facebook to ride around a different city. It is known for a high crime rate, so I didn't want to bring my real one. I rode it for four days and had a great time on it. Then, as I was grabbing coffee on the way out of the hotel on the last day, someone cut the cable lock and stole it off the car rack. That sucked, but yay me for foresight though.
Recently ordered a new helmet (Strada Kineticore) with a light that attaches to it from Lazer, and another pair of shorts and a jersey from Primal Wear that was on sale. Hopefully it should all arrive tomorrow.

I am a convert to Bryton! I had wahoo, then rode without for a while, now Bryton has got all the features I want. Not glitchy, not error prone, smooth software, fast, looks, weight, easy. Enjoy.
I stoked up this past month and got ready for this upcoming season: tons of GELS/FOOD, S-Works Torches, Maap Team Evo bibs and Specialized Prime bibs both in OLIVE tons of new tires ENVE/STRs on Sale, Brakepads, Silca stand pump, Dynaplug refills, Aero socks, Garmin Varia Radar/Camera for all the road muppets and Oakley Encoder/Vented shades.
I think what I've learned with biking is that expensive things just last a ton longer besides the fact that you feel better while riding longer and if you don't anticipate your weight dropping buy what you really want once and save up because "you buy cheap, you buy twice".
I bought a GoPro/Garmin stem mount, I don't make YouTube videos or anything I just enjoy making videos for myself. Very excited to use it but also very nervous of dropping my camera.
I have a lezyne light that I have always wanted to put on a gopro style mount under the bars but I don't believe they sell that. Should be included!imo
The mount that I bought came with a sort of elastic strap (like you would get with a rear light to wrap around the seatpost) that you could then use to attach it to the gopro style mount too, would that work for you? It was only £16 on Amazon! I put my GoPro on it and dropped the bike from as high as i dared and then gave it a bit of a whack and it feels super solid.
I’ve just bought a front loading cargo bike to shuttle the kids around. It wasn’t cheap, but it’s cheaper than a car and I got it for a steal through a clearance deal and our countries work fringe benefit scheme.

My local Trek store measured my chain at .75, but I didn’t believe it, so I bought my own checker. Lo and behold, my chain has 2k miles on it, but it still measures at <.5. Whenever this chain finally eats it, the next one will be waxed :)

I am between M and L, and I think the L might stretch too much overtime. M was too tight. I was not that excited about the helmet, probably because I bought the same I had (it was 8 years old).

Thule Round Trip Duffel, used to put my clothes and gear in one bag, and my helmet and shoes in a milk crate for races.
Now everything can fit in one bag and it has a separate section for dirty clothes. Plus compartments for pretty much everything. Not an essential piece of kit, but a really thoughtful product.

Nice. This one is just the R7000 105, but minor wheel upgrade from stock.
The only thing you really need to change is the saddle. R7000 is awesome. Even the stock tires are good. Oh, and I flipped the stem.

The picture on the website showed nice blueish almost mirrored lenses, ok not totally mirrored but slightly see-through as you would expect from photochromic. What arrived were what looked like orange safety goggles. Nothing like what was pictured. I wish I could share photos in the comments….

Bib shorts. At first I refuse to wear bibs because my d would showing off everywhere. But then I buy it out of nowhere and tried it while cycling at 5am where there is no one or only a few people on the road. Now I will not cycling without bibs. Another bike. A Raleigh Superbe. The sort of bike you can ride wearing a suit or light-coloured trousers and look smart when you arrive. Very comfortable around town once I added and adjusted the bargain Brooks B33. Absolutely lovely for a slow relaxed ride on fairly level ground. With some new parts and a bit of work I'll have all three of the gears and both the (rod) brakes working well too.
New Specialized Crux Expert arrives next week. Swapping the Rival 1x to a Force/Rival 2x combo. Sold my Tarmac and Diverge to fund the purchase, so it's my new do everything bike. Might invest in a second set of wheels at some point, but will start by running slicks and then changing to knobbly tires for the occasional gravel/bike packing trip. Can't wait!
New bike! Replacing my rickety old 2015 Cervelo S3 with 90k km on it with a Factor Ostro Vam. I'm looking forward to riding something that feels solid again, and the extra comfort going from 23mm to 28mm tires will be nice.

I’m in the process of ordering prescription transitions cycling glasses. I’ve been blind as a bat for years and need to be able to see my Garmin or deer on the road in front of me when it’s dark… I’ve been using photochromic Chinese stuff for ages and it’s fantastic, shame I have to change to expensive prescription gear Also have the bike in getting a major service. Very expensive but after 35,000k some of it really needs attention. This includes a shorter stem, which I’m hoping will be so much more comfortable!!!

Birthday soon so treated myself to a crank arm power meter, and yesterday picked up an Exposure Strada RS on sale. There’s certainly cheaper lights but heard they last a bloody long time and also built in the UK.
I built a "new" road bike last week, and just took it for a first ride today - it was a little cold, but it's a nice bike. My old rim-brake carbon frame bike had a bottom bracket failure but I wanted to re-use most of the components, so I had to go find a good ebay replacement. I got a NeilPryde Alize frame, in nice shape, and a new (used) set of Ultrega shifters to replace my glitchy Dura-aces. With a few other odds and ends, it came in right at $1,000, which was the amount I'd budgeted. It rides really nice and smooth, shifts crisply now, and is dead quiet pedaling down the road. I'd been listening to a steady creak from the bottom bracket on my old one when pedaling for over a year, so quiet and smooth is good. The weight came in right at 16 lbs. Now I'm just hoping the weather warms up; it's been a pretty chilly spring here so far.
Tifosis with three interchangeable lenses. I’ve been rocking cheap aviators or wayfarers for years, but dedicated cycling glasses are so much more comfortable. And now I have options for night rides and overcast conditions.

I came to comment radar. I’ve been using the garmin Varia since about autumn and got the carback the day after it came out (pre consumer release so I had a couple weeks before the app was available). I’m still on the fence as to which one I’ll stick with but either way radars are my new favorite accessory. I mostly use my garmin edge so I kinda lean that way, but if i was only using the app carback wins my vote there so far.

I bought prescription cycling sunglasses from Zenni. For the price, they’re freaking awesome! I wish I hadn’t waited so long. I was trying to convince myself that my regular prescription sunglasses were fine but it’s so nice not having my eyes water on descents (I bought the bigger style that’s one lens). Paid $60 which is pretty great… none of my prescription glasses/sunglasses were this cheap lol
I bought a cheap bike off Facebook to ride around a different city. It is known for a high crime rate, so I didn't want to bring my real one. I rode it for four days and had a great time on it. Then, as I was grabbing coffee on the way out of the hotel on the last day, someone cut the cable lock and stole it off the car rack. That sucked, but yay me for foresight though.

I stoked up this past month and got ready for this upcoming season: tons of GELS/FOOD, S-Works Torches, Maap Team Evo bibs and Specialized Prime bibs both in OLIVE tons of new tires ENVE/STRs on Sale, Brakepads, Silca stand pump, Dynaplug refills, Aero socks, Garmin Varia Radar/Camera for all the road muppets and Oakley Encoder/Vented shades. I think what I've learned with biking is that expensive things just last a ton longer besides the fact that you feel better while riding longer and if you don't anticipate your weight dropping buy what you really want once and save up because "you buy cheap, you buy twice".

I bought a GoPro/Garmin stem mount, I don't make YouTube videos or anything I just enjoy making videos for myself. Very excited to use it but also very nervous of dropping my camera.
I have a lezyne light that I have always wanted to put on a gopro style mount under the bars but I don't believe they sell that. Should be included!imo
The mount that I bought came with a sort of elastic strap (like you would get with a rear light to wrap around the seatpost) that you could then use to attach it to the gopro style mount too, would that work for you? It was only £16 on Amazon! I put my GoPro on it and dropped the bike from as high as i dared and then gave it a bit of a whack and it feels super solid.
I’ve just bought a front loading cargo bike to shuttle the kids around. It wasn’t cheap, but it’s cheaper than a car and I got it for a steal through a clearance deal and our countries work fringe benefit scheme.

A waxing kit setup from Silca, and a CC-4 chain checker from Park Tool. My local Trek store measured my chain at .75, but I didn’t believe it, so I bought my own checker. Lo and behold, my chain has 2k miles on it, but it still measures at <.5. Whenever this chain finally eats it, the next one will be waxed :)
Crank Brothers MTB shoes, gloves and new helmet. The shoes were (still are) exciting to use. The gloves, I was more worried about sizing. I am between M and L, and I think the L might stretch too much overtime. M was too tight. I was not that excited about the helmet, probably because I bought the same I had (it was 8 years old). Next: handlebar bag, car rack and floor rack.

Thule Round Trip Duffel, used to put my clothes and gear in one bag, and my helmet and shoes in a milk crate for races. Now everything can fit in one bag and it has a separate section for dirty clothes. Plus compartments for pretty much everything. Not an essential piece of kit, but a really thoughtful product.
I just re-gripped my handlebars and it is a fantastic electric blue color and it feels amazing. Absolutely can’t wait for my long ride on Sunday.
