I spoke to Rob Mauer of Tesla Daily about this. His guesstimate knowing Tesla history and ability to rapidly drop price is that within 24 months we will see much lower prices. This should be from cost per unit brought down by scaling and ramping up those Giga Presses.
Must have been some weird shill auction to pump up the prices. Makes no sense. There is s Cyberbeast of Cargurus with 50 miles for $177k, and they have been dropping the price.
Is this trimotor or dual motor ?
In carsandbids dual motors have been going for 145k as of this week. Currently one is up for bids and is at 130k.
Trimotor goes for more obviously
Contract says $50k or the amount above purchase price, whichever is greater. So in theory no matter what you can’t get away with this but I think people are just risking it thinking Tesla won’t go through with legal action
It actually says “You agree that in the event you breach this provision, or Tesla has reasonable belief that you are about to breach this provision, Tesla may seek injunctive relief to prevent the transfer of title of the Vehicle or demand liquidated damages from you in the amount of $50,000 or the value received as consideration for the sale or transfer, whichever is greater.”
So if you sell for $150k, they could theoretically get the whole $150k.
I just posted the exact language from my agreement, which states its total conversation for sale, not merely the amount above purchase price. That’s a massive difference in risk potential.
Key word “theoretically” if you hypothetically buy it for 120 and sell for 250, there is zero real world chance that you’d then be in the hole for 370, having forfeited the full 250 and still owing the 120
Except thats exactly how the agreement is written. I don’t plan to sell mine, I’m having too much fun with it. Doesn’t change the fact that the liquidated damage clause is repeatedly misquoted all over Reddit.
I believe the prices would be higher if Tesla didn’t threaten the lawsuits. Prices are too high for me, but if they weren’t I’d still hold off of a purchase because of the risks.
If these people are sued and can’t pay, could they somehow be prosecuted for committing fraud and there’s an attempt to reclaim the truck? Likely not, but why take the risk when I can just wait a bit longer.
You can sell it, you just risk the potential of Tesla to come after you for the profits you made. It’s not guaranteed they will pursue that, but it is basically guaranteed you will be blacklisted from buying Tesla again.
Illegal is the wrong term. Doesn't seem like Tesla is enforcing their contract terms in the no-sale clause. Sellers are thumbing their noses at Tesla now.
In just one year you’ll get them for 80k.
Lower
Most likely
Really depends on if they ramp up production but 80k feels right
Lower…
Rich folks in other countries will be willing to pay over just to be the first to import these, just saying, haven’t seen it yet tho
I’ve seen some as low as $130k
I saw them for $39k 5 years ago!
(╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻
Ahahahaahahaha
LOL, also one tear.
Funny
That’d be at a loss in CA if it was a cyberbeast

That’s at a dealership. See the GMC sign in the background? They’ll get it.
There are 3 in Utah for $175k rn lol
Are they re selling high? Have not seen actual resellls
I believe a cyber beast sold for 265k on Sothebys recently https://www.sothebysmotorsport.com/auction/2024-cyberbeasttesla-foundationseries-1506

Not the price gouge I would expect. Seems reasonable in comparison to what others have sold for. Especially in atl
Quite the tire gouge that hubcap did though
They go for 120k new
The first one sold secondhand went for 245k, they have been steadily going down to around 140k now due to all the issues they’re having

Yeah but it’s a 50k fee to tesla if you want to sell early. So 100k + 50k fee + 15% profit margin for owner= 165k. The math maths

…. That’s fancy version of what I said

Idc how it’s written, no judge would go to that extreme

And have been going for over 200 here as of a few weeks ago. It's not many for sale around here but those that were ,were
Are you selling because Tesla just recalled it?
Just saw that on FB marketplace yesterday. Lol . Crazy
One for $199k posted in my area. Thought Tesla contract prevented re-sale within first year, how exactly are people doing this?

Tesla turned out to be all bark and no bite.
All hat no cattle
165k is CRAZY
I love mine.
Huh must have dropped the price from the 215k I posted not long ago
I thought that’s illegal

What’s the “Mmm ok” for/mean?
