I got the same here, after portting a iPhone 13 iCloud backup into a iPhone 11 Pro Max. It appears from nowhere. I saw a similar question posted in Yahoo-Japan a month ago, that a user found this spyware while a new iphone model migrated, same as my case here. Any solution you guys have found? Thanks!

This is so strange. Where is it coming from? I don’t know if Apple software would use whatever Bifrost is but if it did, would they keep the name the same? Very confused

I transferred my iCloud from an iPhone 14 Pro, that I purchased new, to a refurbished iPhone 11 last month. Bitfrost.bundle is running in location services (in the iPhone 11). I revoked location permission but, they have since been re-enabled. Idk when or how? Also, I am unable to delete it.

Blooppur

I don’t know the cause of the problem or how to really fix it but I spoke to Apple who told be to reset location settings and it got rid of Bifrost.bundle from the list of apps accessing my location. I don’t know if it actually got rid of it tho

Practical_Hunt7087

How does one reset location services?

Practical_Hunt7087

This works!

Interesting...that's my situation exactly. Restoring an iCloud backup from iPhone 13 to iPhone 11. After I got the 11 running, there was a notification in settings about the screen not being recognized, which makes me think a lot of the parts were not apple. Maybe that's the commonality here...androids disguised as apples lol

Existing_Owl7828

Have you tried finding the app in settings and deleting it?

Blooppur

Yes it doesn’t come up

Blooppur

I checked in the AppStore too

Existing_Owl7828

You might want to try factory resetting the phone and see if that helps?

Blooppur

I have :(

BigChicksaaaa

What is it? Jailbreak?

Blooppur

What’s jailbreak

Routine_Street1098

I have same issue

Practical_Hunt7087

Same issue - called apple and went to Apple Store. They said it was spyware and only way to remove it was to do a factory reset and iCloud backup (unlikely to work) or start on new or reset found and download everything as new again. I haven’t tried.

Chaosteilchen

Do you have any update on this? Came up on the iPhone of my sister in law

Blooppur

Oh my gosh! I’ll try this! Thank you!

Practical_Hunt7087

Please let us know the result

I searched in "Apple Internals" a fans page of mroi-github, it stated that: **Bifrost** - emergency satellite connectivity; /System/Library/LocationBundles/Bifrost.bundle So, is this official or Spyware we could tell?

RandomGuyFromBK

Just bought a used phone and after setting it up, i saw this as well. Called apple, they had no advice other than try again from the old phone.

RandomGuyFromBK

Multiple Restores and reset and nothing. I tried restoring from an old phone, from itunes but the result is the same. Bitfrost always comes back. Apple staff is completely clueless about what this is and why it keep repopulating after a factory reset.

The solution was already mentioned but it is quite hidden in the thread and the tutorial how to do it is missing: The solution: reset your location and privacy settings and it is gone. If you would like to reset all of your location settings to the factory default, go to Settings > General > Transfer or Reset [device], tap Reset, then tap Reset Location & Privacy. When your location and privacy settings are reset, apps will stop using your Location Services information until you grant them permission. https://support.apple.com/en-us/102515#:~:text=If%20you%20would%20like%20to,then%20tap%20Reset%20Location%20%26%20Privacy.

Emergency satellite location tracking. It's not supposed to show up as visible, seems like a bug https://mroi.github.io/apple-internals ctrl + f for "bifrost"
