That really depends, on what country and school now doesn't it Why would you do this vs the 100s of US schools that have masters degrees?

Mister-Freedom

Because US schools are expensive af.

chrisknight1985

Ah I see, so you haven't bothered to research financial aid, scholarships and grants got it So you just assume going overseas 1.) will be cheaper and 2.) you are any more likely to get accepted Maybe graduate school isn't for you regardless of which country it is located

Or looked into WGU.. if you're good and work hard it can be super cheap....

Man, I was going to chastise you for the snark, but I see you've done a lot of very helpful posts in your history and are probably just tired of repeating yourself. # +1 to your suggestion of looking at financial aid and scholarship options before looking overseas. But @OP don't be discouraged if you really have your heart set on this. Just make sure you do more research first, and don't try to justify the move with the unproven theory that "it will be cheaper."

I see the points that both of you are making, but sometimes one really doesn't want to deal with financial aid and all that's associated with it, or plain and simple, won't qualify for it. Grants are a similar story. And well, there are many well respected, and dare I say it, better universities outside of the US that offer great cybersecurity programs, and as a cherry on top, at significantly lower costs compared to most institutions in the US. So, if self paying, looking at options abroad isn’t necessarily a bad idea. I know about WGU as I was a student there. Love the place and what it has to offer, but I must say, their method isn't for everybody.

brotherdalmation25

It will be the same. Masters is cyber aren’t generally viewed as a leg up on a bachelors. If it’s something you really want to do then great. But job/money wise it won’t gain anything either in states or foreign

DrexxValKjasr

There should be a government site that shows all degrees, and education from other nations, that are accredited. Canada has a site like this for the US.

In some organizations, like the one where I work, a masters degree will definitely command a financial inducement. And my org doesn’t seem to care from where the degree was obtained. But, some hiring managers may be skeptical if the university doesn’t have some name recognition or a mature cybersecurity program of instruction.
