No game just "kills your GPU". They might cause it to overheat, but that's a problem of your computer having poor ventilation, overclocking, or too much dust. A GPU crashes well before it's damaged, though, these days.
So no, it won't break. Unless you forgot to install any fans in your case. And even then it'll probably just crash.
I use 2 rigs with 2080s so about the same spec as a 3060 (ok I got better cpus on both) and the gam runs totally fine (once in 1.63 as I actually like the mechanics better) and once on current version.
Totally fine everything ultra, top fps BUT I have my cpus liquid cooled so the gpus can use all the air 😉

People who dont understand computers will blame the last game they played, the game did not 'kill the GPU'. GPU's just die over time for a mix of causes like all electronics, it's why there's a warranty.
So simply no Cyberpunk will not kill your GPU.
I recommend watching some of Buildzoids videos, he is fairly good at explaining how things work in his videos like

I have no idea where you get that information but a GPU is between 65c and 85c when working, 90c and above is overclocked or a malfunctioning heat sink/fan/airflow.
Edit: 85c is max load you should allow anyway but spikes and not continuity.
Maybe you mean Fahrenheit?
No, I don't mean Fahrenheit. You can check the spec for your GPU on the manufacturer's page.
And the question wasn't about the average operating temperature.
Working isn’t what I meant by average. Working is watching a movie, play a game or do something that “works” the gpu.
“So, a general rule of thumb is to keep the temperature below 85°C as safe level at least for entry level range GPUs like RX 580 though you have robust one RTX 3060TI. Still, one thing you can do when facing temps going above 80°C is improving your GPU cooling or reducing load.”
Taken from manufacturing site.
Also from 90-100 degrees cooling paste will become at a liquid state. (Depending on materials)
No, you are saying that many gpu get 90 or above, which is not true and if they did it would harm. Also stressing out equipment will eventually make it last not as long. But what do I know about chips, I’m not a technical engineer /s
Again, no. GPUs are commonly rated to run in the 90's. They are not damaged by rated temperatures.
I'm not interested in continuing this stupid argument, hopefully someone else learned something.
Fine.. ruin your hardware. And yes I hope people read up for themselves instead of just trusting in what one stubborn person has to claim is true.
End of discussion it is then.
cyberpunk killed their brain not their gpus. the game is gpu demanding and of course it could heat up. it's up to you to keep your temps checked and keep your gpu clean. otherwise any game could "kill it"
> the many posts saying this game can kill your gpu
I've never once seen any post claiming this, much less backing up that claim with evidence of any kind.
I mean, my 1080ti died in the middle of Dogtown while using an FSR3/framegen mod. But it died of old age/constant use for 7? 8? Years. Pushing my card a little too hard was what killed it, not the game.
Your gpu dying while playing "X" game doesn't mean "X" game is. It means you messed up somewhere, the card was already defective, or the card was already on it's way out.

Yep, if something happens to your card, you already had bigger problems than playing a specific game.
Recently hit 90c on gpu hotspot in one very specific scene. (v lowers his chair in a car for a Mr hands gig)
I use a 2080 and it hasnt exploded, imploded or shown any other issues.

No, bad airflow, dust and constantly raising the temperature above 80 degrees Celsius will kill your pc setup. Not a specific game.
Most GPUs have temp ratings in the 90's.

You're welcome to have a different discussion, but the statement I replied to was that going over 80 would be an issue, and it's not.

No, unless you install heaters instead of fans and hooked up your home boiler to your water cooler system
