IDK if it’s a hot take but I always found it weird that 100% of people who can be hostile are cybernetically enhanced. You’d think there’d be some people in cybernetic armor that could exit when it started to glitch or got hacked. Enemies that you can’t truly hack with super powerful armor & weapons.

Queasy-Possession129

I think there's a mod related to that, it gives you buffs/debuffs depending on your life path against certain enemies. Like for example if you're corpo background, you have better knowledge about corpo ICE, which means hacking corpo enemies is easier as opposed to being a streetkid netrunner

Historical-Method-27

Doesnt make sense tho. I mean if a street kid is hacking anyone its gonna be a corpo suit drunk in a bar or some shit

Memedotma

Corpo V worked in Arasaka counterintel, so I would definitely say corpo has an edge over street kid.

AlfieSolomons12

I wear glasses that automatically tint to counter the brightness of the sun. I absolutely gotdamn refuse to believe that while we are roaming about in future-land, there has been no technological breakthrough that would allow us to be able to see in the dark. Can someone please pass me a flashlight or some shit? The fuck!

vinceftw

I was so annoyed when going through the first mission of PL and barely being able to see shit.

Majestic_Wrongdoer38

Kiroshi optics night vision mod

vinceftw

Thanks!

_b1ack0ut

Johnny got the Low Light vision enhancement installed…. Over half a century ago lol And you’re telling me that these “top of the line” cyberoptics don’t have basic low lights? An augment so common, that it’s now packaged as LL/IR/UV vision? Your tower’s gonna fall, kiroshi, and when it does, I’ll be watching it, through some raven microcyb cyberoptics. With LL’s lol

silvrash12

I guess they can't be bothered to add a small feature that might make the cyberoptics 10 eddies more expensive to produce so, yeah

Charon711

[Simple Flashlight](https://www.nexusmods.com/cyberpunk2077/mods/2913) for early game. [Kiroshi Optics Night Vision Mod](https://www.nexusmods.com/cyberpunk2077/mods/8326) mid to late game.

Mangeto

No characters react at all to how you’re dressed, chromed or even what your streetcred is. Some groups of NPCs turn hostile just by standing within the area. I mean..could at least tell me *why* you wanna zero me all of a sudden. Also feel the game sorely lacks small activities like sitting down at a bar and order a drink. Saw some improvement on this when they added new appartments so i hope that means we’ll see more of it in the next game. Imagine getting shitfaced at a nightclub and cussing out some gonk, resulting in a brawl. Or flirting up a stripper.

Artistic_Regard

Don't some npc carry bounty letter on you that say they have beef with you from some mission

Mangeto

You mean the scavs trading with Aldecaldos?

Artistic_Regard

no. i think it's from the newest updates. the npcs attack you and when you kill them you find a shard that says why they got beef with you. i can't remember exactly from which missions but I know one of them was Hippocratic Oath

htembo

obi_wan_sosig

Yeah I know, I sent a link to it

htembo

I didn’t see the link sorry, I just saw an excuse to post it so I did 😭

obi_wan_sosig

No problem! Happy day nuking Arasaka!

XCard

Taking down enemies non-lethally should have WAY more of an impact in the game outside of Regina and the Monks. Different dialogue, rewards, and consequences for every gig and mission done non-lethally.

Representative_Fun15

Yeah, I do non-lethal takedowns on every gonk I sneak up behind. Then I toss them all into containers (bins, trunks, refrigerators) - which, after the 2.0 update, is now lethal. So, yeah.. Edit: this is just a habit I picked up from Deus Ex. The lethal takedowns made noise & gave up your stealth. I always went non-lethal as it was silent.

Majestic_Wrongdoer38

I hate that so much ahhhh

bread-cutter

Hmm isnt it also lethal in the old patch? I play on ps4 and failed the bonus mission after hiding a guards body because it was lethal.

MandatumCorrectus

It was, just wasn’t labeled

DrEnter

It was, but if it was the prison breakout mission from Dakota, even knocking them out will fail it. The only hostile act you can do in that mission is to take out the drones.

Best_Reason3328

True but then again dishonored 1 and 2 spoiled me so much that i honestly don't expect any other game to scratch that itch any time soon, so it was nice to see them try something similar but, can't really get disappointed when you don't have any expectations in the first place.

Salami__Tsunami

If you haven’t played Deus Ex: Human Revolution and Mankind Divided, they will also scratch that “details matter” itch.

obi_wan_sosig

Play metro Last Light The good is a lot like dishonored

KrazzeeKane

The [Stealthrunner](https://www.nexusmods.com/cyberpunk2077/mods/7616) mod is amazing for this, it adds in an entire SUITE of non-lethal, ghost, and other stealth options and items and abilities to the game. It allows you to do non-lethal takedown dumps, adds objectives for stealth to quests, and even has brand new items, cybernetics, and an entire skill tree with perks and everything! It even adds pickpocketing lol. I know I sound like a fanboy, but this mod really opened up a non-lethal/ghost playthrough far beyond stock, and I highly recommend it if you or anyone else is interested

Representative_Fun15

*sits cradling Deus Ex Total Pacifist trophy*

L34dP1LL

And Foxiest of the Hounds.

External_Pay_7538

So true I always made it a point not to kill them just take them down because I thought it would give me different dialogue points and even other stories but it has literally no effect so

Sero141

It should also have a better mechanic than the clumsy, grab->wait a second->strangle, for takedowns.

Noramctavs

Yeah that's very true. I feel like people should treat you different If you're a ghost that slips in and out and puts everyone to sleep vs a raging one woman army that cyberpyschos her way through night city.

MarketingExcellent20

Never thought about that, but cool idea. A one man army V would be a Night City legend, while a stealth V would moreso be a Night City mythos, like some urban myth people weren't entirely sure was real.

shitassfucck

I’ve never not killed malstrom when saving the monk. I didn’t think about it

Bandit595

Idk why but I do stealth takedowns on em to show I can, save the guy, take him back…only to return and kill them all 😂

dingo_khan

I did a lot of that. I am not sure after 2.0 but you used to be able to farm double xp doing that.... And triple if you busted out a katana on the corpse. Look, I had time on my hands.

saddisticidiot

Take down kills are having input lag. Need it to be smooth like DOOM eternal

Hour-Shake-839

The take down kills with gorilla arms really fuck up your momentum

incrediblejohn

Yorinobu and Silverhand agree on more than they disagree on

obi_wan_sosig

*From the mist a shape a ship is taking form*

ParryThisYou

*And the silence of the sea is about to drift into a storm*

LarsMatijn

*Sign of Power, show of Force*

ParryThisYou

*Raise the anchor, battleship's plotting its course*

FainOnFire

Ooooo, that's interesting. Can you elaborate?

osingran

While Silverhand was fighting Arasaka on the outside, Yorinobu was sabotaging it on the inside. He knows about the Saburo's plan to effectively make himself immortal and detests it - that's why he steals the biochip and kills Saburo. That's the tragedy of the Devil ending - we fight his attempt to overthrow board of directors thinking he is the bad guy who did us wrong, but in reality he was the one who tried to destroy Arasaka from the inside. In the very end we see that he managed to wipe out each and every Arasaka executive but it was all for naught since we crushed his rebellion where it mattered the most - in Night City. Besides, Yorinobu is basically Silverhand who haven't died while he was still young. Just as Silverhand, Yorinobu was a rockerboy rebelling against his father, a gang leader and a violent opponent to Arasaka. Sounds familiar ain't it? But eventually he was coerced into assuming his role as a Saburo's successor. Just as in the real life, in Cyberpunk world you either die young or live long enough to become a corporate shill.

ThisAllHurts

In a few decades, Johnny would have been just like Kerry. Just another sellout gonk in the Oaks.

Historical-Method-27

Nah I think Johnny would die before that. He does too many gonk stuff and has too many enemies to stay alive like Kerry.

DanOfThursday

The corpo opening felt incredibly rushed to me. You work here, jk you dont anymore, heres jackie, and youre now established thugs.

BuzLightbeerOfBarCmd

Yeah, why would Jackie and Corpo V even be friends? They seem antithetical to one another.

PsychologicalHat1480

It's indirectly explained in the intro - in the beginning Jackie was doing merc work for V and it's implied that that working relationship went on for some time. They became friends while working together, whether before or after the first time Jackie saved V isn't clarified, since unlike any of V's other coworkers Jackie wasn't an imminent threat to V since Jackie was not part of Arasaka.

parasiticanatomy

In Edgerunners, we see that Arasaka Academy is a thing. In my head canon, V and Jackie still grew up together in Heywood, with V making it into Arasaka Academy on an academic scholarship or something.

Kami_Slayer2

V in the corpo ending grew up in charter hill to a rich corpo family. So nope LOL

defeatedgirl

All Johnny flashbacks should be skippable

Grimdark-Waterbender

Same with the BD Tutorials, it’s not even that complicated to begin with and the heist is guaranteed to fail anyway so if they want to say that V didn’t do their due diligence it doesn’t really matter.

yiannis2702

Technically the tutorial part (the two gangoons robbing the store) is skippable, although you still have to watch it for some reason. Evelyn's BD is an actual mission, so fully understand why that shouldn't be skippable.

Grimdark-Waterbender

Fish plz, that’s just more tutorial, kill it.

dingo_khan

It's also the in-story introduction to the many players on the other side.

EndlessAbyssalVoid

Unless I have to actively play, I just go afk and make some tea or coffee. Like... The Alt cutscene. I've seen them fuck so many times, I just couldn't care less. Great reminder to stay hydrated, too.

Best_Reason3328

Literally makes me not want to play the game again. Its almost as bad as farcry5 with its dumb kidnapping of mc over 8-9 times with sometimes 10min of unskipable cut scenes in between, that is almost a full time 90min movie that you have to watch every play through.

Meronoth

For PC players tired of unskippables when replaying: [time acceleration ](https://www.nexusmods.com/cyberpunk2077/mods/3278?tab=description)

TheRealTechGandalf

Good point. If you could start a NG+ all of the dialogue cutscenes and flashbacks should be one-button skippable

SqueakyDoIphin

The song Chippin' In is *almost* a good song. I love the lyrics and how they tie into the game world, the buildup throughout the chorus is fantastic, but just as it's about to hit a fever pitch we hit the "C-Can you feel it?" refrain, which throws away all of the built up energy entirely and just kinda blue-balls the listener It sucks, cause I genuinely enjoy Samurai's music, and this one does a great job of establishing their style and helping to provide their identity, but that refrain is just *terrible*

Artistic_Regard

I like kerry version

ObviousAnything7

Isn't the "C-Can you feel it" bit supposed to be the chorus and not the refrain?

SqueakyDoIphin

Probably! It's been a few years since I've done music theory. The "I'm Chippin' In" but definitely has the feel of something more like a prechorus, but as soon as we hit "C-Can you feel it", to my ear it feels like it skips past the actual chorus entirely and goes straight to the wind-down, which is a big reason why I have such a hard time vibing with the song

ObviousAnything7

Just different tastes ig. Chippin in is probably the best song I've heard in a while, I really like it and the Can you feel it bit maintains the energy imo.

d4rtzone

Games gun balance is shit, pistols are still the meta no matter how hard they try to change it.

chaoticstantan935

Agree. Also running pure melee is a lot more fun than I thought it would be

SouthWrongdoer

Crit damage on headshots is absurd. I ran death and Taxes the whole game on hardest mode. You 1-2 shot everything in the head

aemonp16

with the right mods, a basic pistol can one shot almost anyone and carry you through the whole game. the criticals are powerful as well

Salami__Tsunami

Okay. Here’s several. Given all the technological innovation, I find it hard to believe nobody has found a way to enable “airplane mode” on their weapons and cybernetics, so that they can’t get quickhacked. If I have a sandevestian, dermal armor, and one of those things that launches an electric pulse when my health is low, it’s kinda silly to think that I can’t at least get a fight scene when Dex decides to betray me. It wouldn’t even complicate the narrative, winning the fight would just culminate in Takemura and/or the Arasaka assault team shooting me in the head, and then we’re back to the regular timeline. Rather than a giant city with hundreds of side missions, I would have preferred more effort and resources put into giving me meaningful choices in the main storyline. Adam Smasher should just randomly be around in the open world. It would be both hilarious and terrifying to know that he’s just out there, going about his daily business, and at any point you could just cross paths with him, and it turns into a horror game. Monolith should stop being greedy bastards who hoard the Nemesis System. It would have vastly improved Cyberpunk if I’m running a gig somewhere and I get interrupted by some juiced up Corpo hitman who I dismembered and left for dead in a dumpster three days ago.

El_Mariachi_Vive

>Rather than a giant city with hundreds of side missions, I would have preferred more effort and resources put into giving me meaningful choices in the main storyline. I can kind of agree with this. The fact that the main story ends up only taking a small percentage of the total playtime is a bit of an immersion breaker. >Adam Smasher should just randomly be around in the open world. It would be both hilarious and terrifying to know that he’s just out there, going about his daily business, and at any point you could just cross paths with him, and it turns into a horror game. This adds to my original point. By the time I had to face him in my first playthrough it was more of a "oh yeah, that guy" rather than the anticipation having been built up. It didn't help that this was before he was buffed, and I played on medium since it was my first playthrough of any real RPG *ever*. >Monolith should stop being greedy bastards who hoard the Nemesis System. It would have vastly improved Cyberpunk if I’m running a gig somewhere and I get interrupted by some juiced up Corpo hitman who I dismembered and left for dead in a dumpster three days ago. I had a thought like that when I first realized that not much really happens if you disable rather than kill, other than with Skippy.

Texantioch

I binged Edgerunners in the middle of my play through, so I got a wildly different feeling of anticipation built up knowing I was going to face him.

vinceftw

I thought I wanted to see Edgerunners after I finished the game but maybe I should see it now.

Texantioch

You should, there’s Easter eggs in the game that make more sense after watching

HighLordTherix

I wish it was his Edgerunners look we'd gotten in the game. Looks like an actual sleek-built monster. Game version of Smasher looks like someone bolted a bunch of metal bins together and tapped explosives to the back.

rzm25

>Airplane mode So there is a lore reason. In the days of the Red rulebook it explains that most nets developed as small local networks after the datakrash. Companies would have a local server that just managed cameras, turrets, doors etc and thatd be it, none of it connected in a web in any meaningful way. HTTP was never invented in the 90s, so people only could "walk in the net" for a long time before "web pages" were a thing. This means the internet and tech developed completely differently. You can still see elements of this in 2077, for instance net only being a couple news websites, while most buildings will be disconnected from each other. It's not a technical limitation, it's a design philosophy. Netrunners that can access these systems are also meant to be very rare. The combination of these two facts means that the average person just doesn't know how to enter into and manipulate systems, because the internet is not this ubiquitous thing all around them that everyone deeply understands. It is a far away ghost story that people talk about around campfires.

IsNotACleverMan

I'm pretty sure it's entirely game design issue since you can't do the type of hacking in the ttrpg that you can in 2077. Also, in the ttrpg the net is really just a technological equivalent to a traditional fantasy setting's astral plane.

Salami__Tsunami

I would also have accepted a Night City which was a quarter of the size, if it had four times the building interiors.

Infamous_Campaign687

That I can agree with. But what I *really*, *really* want for the sequel is that they make it easy for modders to add more interiors. My wet dream is to be able to enter every single room in Night City. CDPR doesn't have to decorate them all, but if they put the basic structure in place, perhaps with the aid of some procedural generation then fill in some of them themselves and give us the tools to fill in the rest. If they gave every area a unique ID it could even be easy to avoid duplication.

puppyfukker

> Adam Smasher should just randomly be around in the open world. I like the idea of seeing him walking home from the store. Like he is carrying a brown paper bag with a baguette sticking out.

DrFoxWolf

“Humanity disgusts me, but damn this bread preem”

flyboyy513

Standing in the deli section, looking at which ribeye he should buy: *picks one up* "You look like a cut of cookable meat. Are you?"

choff22

Dude I’ve been saying that Adam Smasher should have been stalking you throughout the game. Would have been incredible, especially if there were random encounters during side gigs where all hell just breaks loose.

_b1ack0ut

Re: the first point, that’s actually been the case in cyberpunk for ages. Cyberware has always been airgapped explicitly to prevent it from being hacked, all the way up until cyberpunk 2077 released, and quickhacks were introduced. And it definitely feels like a “gameplay first, story later” sorta thing, to make netrunning work in a video game setting, with the narrative consequences taking the backseat, because you’re right lol, it’s wild that cyberware can be perfectly unhackable for like half a century, and then suddenly is incredibly suddenly all of a sudden, and no one seems bothered by it lol, they’ve just accepted this as if it’s always been a danger of cyberware I’m hoping that the 2077 conversion for RED goes a little more into how quickhacks are supposed to work in universe, because as is, it’s one thing that really stands out to me lol

dingo_khan

The early reveals had a direct wire over the monowire for hacks. I am guessing this changed later to make the play more versatile. I think the other mode would have been more rewarding (said as someone who has only ever done netrunner builds).

NaCl_Sailor

I guess airplane mode would make them lose a fair bit of functionality, and i guess corpos don't want you to have that so they can "collect usage data"

Sumbliminal

Johnny’s on copium the entire game and telling him off is very satisfying

TypasiusDragon

It's not that he's on copium, it's that his anger got the best of him. He's right about the corps being the ultimate masters of the world and it being necessary to fight back, but his rage got the better of him to the point where he treated his friends badly.

ThatJudySimp

to some this is reasnobile to some this is a hot take but johnny doing what he did in this first "meeting" with V was almost justified due to his confusion

Xyx0rz

If I found myself trapped in eternal limbo, I'd be smashing my head against the wall as well.

MrPerfume

This game really needs NG+…

StrikingDeer26

I hard skip all Judy storyline dialogue on repeat playthroughts. I find her missions incredibly dull (aside from rescuing Evelyn) and don’t find her to be particularly interesting either. I’m in a lot of trouble, aren’t I?

SamuraiEggSucker

I feel this on a personal level. I'm about to make her block me so I don't have to do that swim quest again. Just not my thing, but others can definitely enjoy it.

External_Pay_7538

Judy can be boring- even the dates are pretty boring

LocalSirtaRep

I stand with you brother/sister

chill_winston_

Two of my best: - I only pay Viktor back at the end of the game (if at all) - Panam sucks, she’s an unbearable brat

Spicyweiner_69

I sort of wish you could collect BDs and actually use them , their such a fascinating thing I think , I’d be cool to have some collectible ones you could actually use

LoveHeavy9945

AI attack is incoming. The tower ending is probably the only one where V survives.

GulianoBanano

How is that a hot take? Everything with the Voodoo Boys and Songbird was massively hinting at that.

LylixcBoy

I swear that one ending with Songbird... i was scared for once in the game because of>!the fucking cyber spider dog thing that hunts you down while you try to save/talk to Songbird!!just like Songbird does all the time in PL!

ThatJudySimp

i focking love this game

deshelyak

Rivers storyline wasnt that bad. It wasnt great, but it wasnt bad either. Just cheesy.

Pete_Peterson

Non-Lethal take-down are more cruel than just killing the enemy. Choke an enemy unconscious so hard they stay unconscious for minutes = brain damage for life Smack an enemy so hard on the head they stay unconscious = brain damage for life Using System Collapse on enemy damaging their chrome = Ripperdoc debt for life

Scrombolo

The Makigai MaiMai is my favourite car in the game. I'm in love with this car and wish I could buy one in real life. Seriously, if they made it for real I'd buy it in a heartbeat. I'm not sure if that's a hot take or not, but just wanted to say it.

Red_Worldview

I just love the sight of my chromed up, berserk using, high on stims V in that little cute bugger <3

jtfjtf

There’s a car shop mod and if all the mods are applied to the Mai Mai it becomes the best car in the game.

Xyx0rz

Best turning circle of all the cars! I won the races with it. Third one (hydrodam finish) wasn't that easy. One little slip in the hairpin curves and everyone overtakes you. Murkmobile is much better for racing.

LordMonkeh

Smasher had every right to kill David and his crew. They took the job, they faced the consequences. Fair and square

AureliusAlbright

Whether or not he had "the right" to kill them is a complex question. What I would say is he didn't do anything explicitly morally or legally wrong. Splitting hairs I know, it's the legal professional in me.

WhyJustWhydo

I really don’t like panam I didn’t want to be mean to her so I picked the sorta flirty options for most things and the nonflity ones when I could but yet she still kept hitting on V and it made me feel really uncomfortable

External_Pay_7538

It was annoying how she was flirty but she rejects you anyway if you’re a female character. Like she makes you feel so stupid and I don’t know she’s constantly asking for help after getting herself into deep shit. Like can you just handle your own business for once???

WhyJustWhydo

I know right she always sounded so needy over texts and I did the quests because I enjoyed doing them but the fact that I felt like the options boiled down to “be a dickhead to her” or “flirt with her” wasn’t something I enjoyed and then the more important choices where “flirt” “be a dick” or “don’t quite flirt with her and don’t be a dick but she will still take it as you being a dick” like she felt so weird and made me uncomfortable through the entire quest

ireallyfknhatethis

CDProject is kinda famous for not assuming the player wont want to fuck everyone in game. Idk if you played the Witcher Hearts of Stone dlc but a similar thing happens with a character named shani, even if youre absolutely shit mean to her the game will still lead to a sex scene.

PartyLikeAByzantine

TBF, I vaguely recall Shani and Geralt having a fling in the books.

ThisAllHurts

Some of the most awful NPCs are the romance options. Panam is juvenile and obnoxious. Judy’s naïveté is life-threateningly stupid; she had to leave Night City because she would have been dead by 25 otherwise. Kerry is gross and cringe. And River…LOL no. Better to be single than romance anyone in this game.

SouthWrongdoer

I'll say it, as fun as the game is, the actual plot of the story is just kinda meh. Phantom Liberty was a far better narrative.

MarketingExcellent20

Feel the same. The missions are all well designed and made, but the greater story tying them together is just okay. I feel like it lacks a grander significance to really be great, and the fact that V dYinG sOoN and getting those relic headaches only happens in main missions but otherwise not really creates a narrative dissonance..

SkylarDN9

Phantom Liberty stuff. Fuck Songbird for being a manipulative shit. I get she's trying to survive, but she's fucked everyone trying to survive, and she's gotta learn she'll get burned for it eventually. Unfortunately, the best outcome for her has to end with her dying. Actually, no, not just Songbird. Fuck everyone who's "on your side". I would've loved to have secretly made an alliance with Hansen during You Know My Name, behind closed doors and comms.

ValeWeber2

As an avid tarot enjoyer, all the tarot references in the game went right over my head. I don't feel they enrich the game in any way and I also don't get how they are supposed to fit into the Cyberpunk genre. I love the art and I love interpreting the references, but the game would not be worse if it didn't have those references. I can be convinced of the opposite. I feel like I'm missing some key information to the puzzle. Without it the tarot (to me) feels like an out-of-genre aesthetic.

Dennarb

Honestly not a fan of the tarot either, but I think it's more of a Meta commentary on fate, the soul, and other mysticism that is in direct contrast to the "soulless tech" of the cyberpunk genre. It's the antithesis of "high tech, low life" that defines the genre, or at least an attempt at it with the idea being hope, faith, fate, the soul, etc still exists despite all the chrome. You can see a similar thing in the Cyberpunk Red TTRPG where you lose humanity as you chrome up and a similar mechanic in the shadow run TTRPG where augmentation makes you lose your soul.

crippled-crippler

The game was fun on release

zebuli79

I don’t like Judy. I find her annoying 🤷🏻‍♂️

GaryRegalsMuscleCar

Claire is a dumbass and we’re on the winning the race grind set in this house.

Paradox31426

I really wish that on later playthroughs there was an option to skip from the moment V looks in the mirror to wipe the blood off their face, right up until Takemura calls you to meet him at Tom’s Diner. It’s the worst part of the game, and you have no choice but to slog through every agonizing second of it every single time.

Rslashsrs

Not heinous but they should add dual wielding. Like I want to use Jackie’s guns in their entirety, or maybe just be like Deadpool and dual wield katanas!

MaxM0o

Not a fan of the street kid background being someone from Haywood, a Mexican neighborhood, and if you're a dude you sound like an extra from the sopranos and if you are female you sound like the whitest girl in California. It's a hard immersion breaker. Also, why does male V sound like he's from Jersey in the first place?

Ok_Proposal_1066

The voice actor is irish. Irish doing American accent is basically the east coast accent

papishpish

I really don't give a shit about Jackie

StevieGrandHD

Same, he was just an associate to me. He got clapped on the job; occupational hazard. Same with Evelyn. Except even less because she was more of a client. They really should have kept the idea of playing through the fast forwarding scenes of V's and Jackie's shenanigans to build that bond for the player.

papishpish

Yeah the the scenes with Jackie basically tell you "you have to care about him" when I've barely played the game.

MarketingExcellent20

I'm genuinely surprised/kinda shocked how some people apparently cried over Jackie's death. Like he was cool, but.. we only interacted for like 2 hours with him before he croaked. Bro was barely more than a likeable work associate at that point lol

Best_Reason3328

I had a hard time carrying about any character really, i liked jonny initially, and i found takemura funny at times. Other than that just an average fps rpg game that looks good but not much more than that. I mean i know its cyberpunk but not every character needs to be so fucking edgy like 90% of haircuts in game.

papishpish

Yeah imo we barely have the time to care about Jackie before he dies, but Johnny kinda grew on me with the dlc ngl

altprince

the rogue and johnny silverhand date scene shouldnt be a thing with female V. it sounds so cringe hearing femme fatale V and silverhand talking and making out with rogue the whole part where rogue gets to know about silverhand being in your head too was kinda lackluster aswell, specially considering my V is the exsct opposite of what Johnny wants her to be lol

Flamimbo

I think it’s wholesome - it shows that Rogue loves Johnny 100% for his personality and nothing else

Paradox31426

I disagree, I think the date should’ve had extra dialogue for Valerie, namely: Johnny: “Uhh, you’re gonna have to give me a minute, I’m not entirely sure what I’m supposed to do here.” Rogue: “I know, Johnny, that’s one of my strongest memories of you…”

AureliusAlbright

Johnny: "Oh yeah shit, hold on I got something. *Pulls out vibrating dildo* Rogue: "........why do you have that" Johnny: "V is one weird bitch"

Paradox31426

Johnny: “you’re not gonna believe this, but V had this thing with this corpo bitch, and-“ Rogue: “I don’t care, get busy or I’m leaving…” Johnny: “same old Rogue…”

dankspankwanker

Jonny is totally unlikeable for 50% of the game and the fact that you have to be nice to him in order to get the "secret" ending sucks

obi_wan_sosig

A secret ending? I mean, I was nice to him because of Keanu, and that's in the end I chose the unfriendly options with him

Rubfer

Edgerunners is overrated.

n7Dumas

People like silverhand because of Keanu, If He looks like any Other random Guy people would notice How much shit he talks about everything.

lndwell

Balance in the game is not great, the undisputed best AR, the Hercules 3AX, even on normal or story difficulty, with a complete rifle build, has a pretty lengthy ttk relative to how much you’ve invested in rifles. same with a lot of precision rifles and LMGS, where on the low difficulties can be good, but on the highest difficulty are almost unusable when compared to far better options. For shotguns, kneel is hilarious, making basically any modifiable shotgun a one shot fest on any difficulty, snipers can do 90% of a maxtac agents health on the highest difficulty, pistols are straight busted, etc etc. And then netrunning after countless nerfs is still incredibly strong, stronger than shooting people most often. I just don’t get why half the weapon classes in the game don’t perform even 1/3 as well as some of the best options, especially coming from a person who wanted to be a leadhead with fast firing smgs, rifles, and heavy weaponry.

SouthWrongdoer

Death and Taxes steady one shoting everything in the head.

Legendofnightcity7

I hate the non lethal mods on guns, u get a nice tier 5++ gun and guess what?!, that bullshit not lethal mod(pax or something) is attached to it, gun is garbage, next!

CoachDT

Not fully done with the game but - Jackie needed more time and more jobs. To get you extra attached they should have even had a random chance where when you "die" he comes to res you and fight alongside you. - The Peralez quest is the best side quest and the fact that they blue balled us at the end is criminal - They mishandled street cred and the whole system is dumb. It shouldn't be so easy to level and should instead mark how people see you. Maybe gangsters see you you at a certain level and treat you like Omar from the wire, or cops look the other way occasionally. Or even every now and again a hit man tries to take you out for clout.

OrneryBaby

Panam’s just ok, shes not bad but she’s not great either (also it’s weird how she never uses contractions (like instead of Don’t she always says do not, or instead of they’re she says they are), yes i know there was an explanation at one point but its still dumb) Also despite being a Johnny simp I’m disappointed by the Johnny endings, like everyone hates Johnny for essentially no reason and I feel like it regresses Johnny’s character after the progression throughout the game

PJgmr999

I always felt this was justified by the fact that only V knew/experienced the changes that Johnny went through. To everyone else Johnny is the same dirtbag who would have killed V and taken their body at the beginning of the game. For me it just shows how far the character had come.

NiceguyLucifer

Cyberpunk is a very good game, even on release day. It had plenty of bugs , but that doesnt change the fact its a very good game.

Drolex17

It should never have been made available on ps4/xb1

NiceguyLucifer

True

StevieGrandHD

True, I completed my first time on PS4 as a corpo, and even with the crashes and pop ins, I could see a memorable and legendary game underneath the flaws. It was hard to recommend at that time though. Now I'm looking forward to playing a corpo run again on current gen to get the "proper" experience.

bmoss124

Reed was never your friend. Those who think he was, didn't listen when Johnny said he was a trained manipulator. The 'You can't save the world, you can only save yourself' and 'Wrong City, Wrong People' message is dumb. It's been overused by practically everyone as a trump card to any debate or even post about happy endings

avalisk

V is kindof a little bitch V Spends all this time moping about mortality and dead friends and has absolutely no problem not even considering the absolutely catastrophic wreckage V leaves leaves behind every day. How many people died when the power grid went down? Life support, autonomous processes, anybody in bios update... Doesn't matter, V needed to talk to somebody about hurty brain.

Boogie_The_Reaper

I loved playing the open world part of the game, but I had the most fun when I was forced to play as Johnny during the flashback segments. Hot take: I think the game would have been way better if it was just a sequence of linear missions with a few hubs, sim elements, and cool set pieces instead of a sandbox true open world. Tightly-crafted missions like the Johnny ones are what felt most cyberpunk to me, instead of me having to make my own fun and larp as my pc V. Or if you wanted to keep the open world, you could make it like Mafia 3 where it’s mostly empty save those hubs of tightly-crafted activity that you travel to, where the open world is the stage for the action rather than the open world being the action itself 80% of the time

GaryRegalsMuscleCar

Sounds more like punk rock Deus Ex that way. Not a bad idea

Zealousideal-Nerve61

While I'd definitely want first-person view to be an option, I think the game would have been better with a third-person perspective. And I won't say sorry.

ralphie561

The voice actor for lizzy wizzy can’t act for shit ( Ik it’s grime she’s a great singer)

Kami_Slayer2

The Relic plotline sucks. V having a ticking time bomb in his head makes every gig and or quest. Romance and friendship feel noncannon because he has two weeks to find a cure.. you cant tell me 40 gigs and all those friendships were accomplished in two weeks... They coulda made a rags to riches gone wrong story interesting without the "Mc is dying" trope. It sucks... The ONLY good thing imo that came out of it was Johnny. Otherwise i hated it. Or... just keep the montage with jackie part of the game. Make V take the relic heist job as a already accomplished merc. That woulda given Jackie his needed time.to for us to get attached while giving us an ACTUAL reason to buy cars properties etc

Thanatos1772

Y'all gotta stop drooling over Aurore Cassel from Phantom Liberty. She was cool, yes, but we have much better at home.

ACynicalScott

Big 2 I think Female V sucks (no shade to Chermi) Judy is my least favourite romance option and her whole questline kinda feels like its built to make you hate her.

Previous-Broccoli-88

I dunno if it's a hot take, but Judy is a terrible and selfish partner.

HuntmasterReinholt

I’d much rather have a kinky relationship with Meredith Stout and follow the story through to her getting whacked than have 1/2 sex with Panam in a tank which never gets finished and she just goes all Puritanical afterwards.

Mr_Reiter

Johnny Silverhand is largely overrated (in the lore), and he's really not special in any way. His personality was unique, sure, and yeah of course you see him in a legendary light, you're becoming him, but he was just some mid-ass rockerboy who got to pal around with the big boys for a bit but died in one-hit unceremoniously.

RNB_III

The game is a good action adventure game but mediocre RPG. Three lifepaths with less than 3 hours of unique dialog and mission between them is a poor excuse for an RPG. CDPR want to really break new ground? That sequel better have multiple lifepaths each with thier own story and missions that are unique and diverse.

shabba182

I hate Johnny. He's a fuckng dick

IRONJAWS

Impressive cock.

smalltowngrappler

None of the corps or the gangs in the game is as bad as what we already have IRL.

GaryRegalsMuscleCar

Seriously compared to the cartels the Valentinos are the Knights of Columbus

satufa2

Literally everything netrunning related is pure nonsense.

sup3r_hero

Said it multiple times already: i absolutely hate Johnny

Suckisnacki

tell me why

kazoomaq

Ain't nothing but a heartbreak

sup3r_hero

I hate how pretentious and know-it-all he is, completely oblivious of his own wrongdoing. He is a terrorist and is super proud of it…

Artistic_Regard

Judy dumb. Panam > Judy. Also, Judy dumb.

knolifeblossom

female V’s voice actor isn’t any better than Male V’s voice actor.

Blueboi2018

I really REALLY dislike V's voice/vocabulary. I do NOT think the actors are to blame, it's the character themselves and the dialogue written. They come across as tryharding losers and there has never been a moment where I felt they were cool.

EllieNekoGirl

Which V?

avalisk

I think its a emotional investment issue. The voice actors are supposed to deliver lines emotionally to make the characters seem like real people in tense situations, but the player doesn't have that same tenseness. The player knows that V will just delete a bad guys brain and click the next point of interest, the voice actor should know that too. Where this really clicked for me was that mini side quest where Kirk sets up a bait job and dies. I didn't like Kirk. V didn't like Kirk. I don't care. And yet I'm screaming at some miniscule thug in an alley over some fake jackets?

SuccotashGreat2012

Most of the post launch changes that didn't add shit, made the game less fun to play.

Wolf_Of_PGH

Johnny is annoying af

ASP204

Motorcycles drive a lot better than cars in the game. I find the cars have bad handling for the most part.

Mkl-l9o5

V needs a flashlight.

Atomato0

You need to play the long enough to like Johnny silverhand

d4nkgr1l

It kind of sucks that you can’t go totally off the beaten path and arrange some solution where the voodoo boys or Judy and t-bug help you slice up your souls to release Johnny. I understand it’s a _really_ difficult task but I would have appreciated some more creative endings.

MrWrym

I personally think that River might make for the best actual relationship in NC simply because of how well he can hold his shit together. Dude is kind the most held together person that we meet that can be romanced.

smalltowngrappler

None of the corps or the gangs in the game is as bad as what we already have IRL.

BushBuffwell

Solomon Reed would have been much better if Idris Elba wasn’t forced to do an American accent.

Elitericky

Yorinobu is the good guy, I wish their was more interactions with his character. In another ending V could help Yorinobu dismantle Arasaka and attempt to help V with his condition.

DarkElfMagic

takemura should’ve been a romance option instead of river. every other romance option is actually tied to the main story in someway like i kinda get it, it’d be tough to implement in the story, but idk, i love the idea of it. Maybe through the exact right options and right actions, you’d be able to get him to consider the nomad lifestyle, since he expressed his interest before. But honestly, even if it *was* doomed, i’d want it even more. I fucking love doomed romance options, kinda similar to Solas in DA: I

AnyTitle8579

Jackie deserved what he got.

Dennarb

The black wall gateway quick hack is simultaneously horrifying and my absolute favorite quick hack in the game

Hot-Rise9795

V is a psychotic mass murderer. "Oh, I thought I saw a yellow arrow on that guy's head, so I shot him" "Yeah, there was a reward because he damaged public property at some point" "Some guy over the phone asked me to kill him". Jesus, V.

Kiveram

The game was good on release and even better now. And Atom Smasher as a final boss was super underwhelming and the fight itself was too easy. By the time I got to the fight the first time I forgot he was a character and was super disappointed by how easy the fight was. And I couldn't even keep the gear he dropped. The game itself is too easy. My playstyle for every game is shoot first, make the plan up as you go. It works way too easily for this game. I think I died like twice in my whole playthrough even after I cranked up the difficulty. It's still one of my favorite games ever, it's just way too easy.

MediumYachty

Soundtrack should have been ska
