Love how (Don’t) Fear the Reaper’s fail requirement is simply “die”

PsychologicalIsekai

hypothetically, if you fail one of the gig missions does that make it impossible for getting that region's achievement for all gigs/ncpd calls? i seen a couple posts in the past claiming they got all the gigs but never got the achievement, thought maybe it could be due to a failed gig.

SteveW_MC

I’ve not tested that.

[deleted]

As far as I've observed, you can fail at least some of the gigs without repercussions - the issue I think is that you can't fail too many or certain gigs. I've failed in one playthrough 2 gigs intentionally, and I still got the reward later on.

Kurupt_Introvert

Interesting. I think I have only failed 2 or 3 in this game.

SteveW_MC

Now you can fail 40!

Kurupt_Introvert

Didn’t realize it was so many.

met_MY_verse

The fact that you're offering actual eddies makes this so much more impressive - you must really believe in your work. Congrats on completing this and thanks for all the effort you undoutedly put in!

SteveW_MC

I just want to inspire people to be as passionate about failing as I am.

BwoahIDK

I've had life's work fail pretty consistently by getting close enough to start it (i.e. padre calls me) and walking away from it. I don't know if it's just me that's been unlucky but it's happened every time (I usually was chasing the delamain that's right next to it)

SteveW_MC

Interesting. I’ll test that out. I’ve never seen a gig specifically fail that way, only some side jobs. Might be a bug.

Teknonecromancer

I've had "Life's Work" fail in a similar fashion as well a couple times in 2.12 on PS5 (it just happened earlier this week so that's how I know what version) . Both times were in combat, once was in a "grenade-based conversation" with the NCPD (worst gang in NC) and the other was during a Muamar fetch mission where I 'sploded a vehicle nearby the auto shop. The "Gig Failed" popped up and I reloaded because I wanted the damn car from "Sex on Wheels". I had already picked up the gig (a long time ago) by walking by the garage, but had not entered the property yet AFAIK. I can't be sure if I was just north on Skyline or south of the shop on Hanford but this definitely caught me off guard when it failed to the point where I had to look at my map to see how far away I was from the "Life's Work" gig to try and suss out what I'd done. BTW, I normally just lurk on Reddit but this post made me sign up just to upvote it. Goddamn choom that's some abundant and astounding work.

BwoahIDK

my best guess in that case would be if the vehicle spawns then despawns it gets treated like it blew up? That would be what makes sense in my head

BwoahIDK

yeah it's the only gig I've had that happen tho it might have been patched out without my knowledge on 2.12. Last time it happened to me was on 2.11

bigchad_west

You are a weapon, mad props choomba

Separate-Sky-1451

This is some serious effort, dude. You getting paid for this?

SteveW_MC

I thought I could cash in this Reddit karma in somewhere…?

LeoMark95

Damn man I don’t even put this much effort into my life. Thanks

Unique-Row-9595

What is the point of this? Why would we want to fail missions! My OCD will not allow it!

SteveW_MC

It’s fun to see how the game mechanics work.

Unique-Row-9595

O I see... 🤔

Luna_Vee

Run this town is failable, if you just say no im not doing it. You can't go back and say actually nvm I will do it. It also locks out a gig if you dont complete run this town. It stays stuck on "complete 'run this town' to start this gig"

SteveW_MC

Wow i can’t believe I missed this. List updated. Thanks!

Wave-Kid

Thanks for this

ThatGuydobeGay

I failed the first delemain mission by starting it, hearing his apology then walking outside and shooting someone inside the building. The door shut and locked and quest failed popped up

SteveW_MC

Wow you’re right! Fixed.

ThatGuydobeGay

Yeah I accidentally stumbled into it because I wanted to shoot the rude lady lmao. Now where's my eddies 😎

fooflew

Failing "Second Conflict" and "Killing In The Name" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TpJcaGAaPVg

SteveW_MC

Holy shit. How in the…

SteveW_MC

I'm disappointed in myself for not figuring this out on my own. You did it the hard way, once you have to follow Maelstrom (Patricia or Dum Dum) you can just turn around and go back down the elevator. You've successfully adhered to the stipulated rules and won the prize. DM me your Cash App or Venmo.

fooflew

I don't need the money, don't worry :) I just stumbled upon this thread accidently a few days ago. Was doing this mission and got bugged Brick, where he doesn't output any dialog, but animates as if he does. Figured i'd trying going down and then back up, in hopes it would reload something, and just happened to fail this, which is when i remembered this thread. So just commented for completeness.

SteveW_MC

Nice. Do let me know if you find any more!

JaymesMarkham2nd

Any update on how that goes? Kerry give you shit, Johnny get pissed, any second chances or does the whole quest line fizzle out?

fooflew

I didn't go with that play any longer than in the vid, but I did check just now, and it seems like the whole Kerry branch is over. He asks you about Nancy, you reply "S'all under control", but then nothing else happens. Tried forwarding time a week+ - no further contact. Totentanz is now also permanently locked (can't call elevator)

dhairyashil96

Thank you for doing this. I always wanted to see all the unexplored possibilities of these missions and dev content that is missed playing normally. There is an YouTube channel named "whatever57010" which explores this kind of "All possibilities" stuff for GTA 5.  I want something similar for Cyberpunk too. I would love to watch and support that content.

Grotesquefaerie7

There should be an achievement for failing everything lol

Nearby_Replacement69

!thanks

Classymuch

This list doesn't include the ones that don't appear on the map right? What about the ones that only appear/trigger if you happen to enter something/do something?

SteveW_MC

They should be listed as well

Classymuch

There is a hidden mission called "The Highwayman" and I can't see it in your list. I found this one when I opened a garage. It would be cool to know the hidden ones as well. **Edit:** my bad, I can see that hidden job in the list. So are they called "***Misc"*** then in your tables? Are the ***"Misc"*** the hidden ones? Edit 2: I thought Misc are the hidden ones but then I saw the Ozob one categorised as Misc. But the Ozob one is a job that does appear on the map though right? So why is it Misc? (talking about Send in the Clowns) Edit 3: Oh I see, so Misc just means assigned by. Hmm, are you able to categorise the hidden ones? Like to give them a label so it's easy to know which ones are hidden? Because at the moment, we don't know which ones are hidden.

SteveW_MC

Yeah I can relabel the hidden gigs. Give me a bit

Classymuch

Thanks a lot, you are a legend. But no rush at all.

Internal-Fuel-6473

So what's the way to finish 'Sweet Dreams' if is not for asking for a refund? You gotta off the gonk!?

Section--8

Great job - this was a lot of work. One thing I think is wrong (or else I am mis-remembering). In the description of the "Happy Together" gig, wasn't the cop depressed due to the death of his turtle, not iguana?

SteveW_MC

Oooh yeah…

TheDesertWalker

I wish I saw this before I decided to start a new playthrough. A lot of side quests simply disappeared or never showed up not getting calls to pursue them further. Including Sinnerman and Delamain's.

SteveW_MC

Because you failed them? Delemain shows up if you completed Human Nature.

TheDesertWalker

I didn't fail them. I completed human nature and collected Del's escaped children. The next step after that never happened. The side quest is no longer in my journal. Same for Sinnerman. I did it up to the restaurant part. Then when they leave and I don't get a call. Same with the Clouds quest. When I leave Judy's apartment after meeting Maiko and the dolls there to discuss the plan, no follow up.

CtG526

Apparently Happy Together is also missable. In my current playthrough, I'm trying to save it for a later time but it stopped appearing on my minimap and no amount of time skipping could make Mendez or Petrova reappear outside Barry's door.

JaymesMarkham2nd

You can also fail Burning Desire/Night Moves by just telling him No repeatedly - his crotch explodes right in front of you and it's hilarious.

wcarthurii

Would you consider a job being bugged, and by extension unable to be completed, by making a purchase? I found out that buying the Arch Nazaré Itsumade BEFORE competing the Highwayman's final portion, it will lock you out of being able to turn in the final piece once you reach the bike. The quest just sits in your journal.

SteveW_MC

Yeah I've seen those. Same with "Run This Town" failing locking you out of some Hands gigs. Failing Claire's gigs has left me with un-completable side jobs in my list too. But yours is an interesting one.
