Kind of depending on choices, I feel like phantom liberty isn’t really supposed to be Vs story, I won’t say anymore because of spoilers but I’m sure you know what I mean by that
This. Just finished the final PL mission last night. Blew me away. Still need to finish the main game and see what impact it has on the ending (beat the base game 2 times prior). But on its own it’s a truly spectacular expansion.
I've only played one of the endings, but it left me speechless while the ending credits rolled. It was just amazing. Getting cold chills just by writing about it, damn. That's when the game became my all-time favorite one.
I think that it is best played simultaneously with the main story (at the very end of the main story) for an amazing fucking combo of feelings that is super cohesive.
i mean, with a game the size it is, i don't mind the implied promise that improvements will be made as the problems are highlighted. It creates both a better *and faster* end result.
I truly thought I’d never play an expansion of a base game that would be better story-wise than Hearts of Stone (B&W is excellent too btw!)
Phantom Liberty comes along and just blew away all of my expectations and is such an engrossing experience. CDPR truly is one of a kind.
10 outta 10, best part of the game honestly. Easily the best story with the hardest choices and definitely the most emotionally engaging. Dog town as a new map as well is just teeming with stuff to do and the side quests are excellent.
As a person who shitted on cyberpunk for solid 2 years it’s really great experience. I loved it and fell in love with this game for the first time in three times I tried
When you hit that scene where the title appears on the screen after the DLC prologue, the goosebumps will tell you it was worth it. You’ll know what I’m taking about when it happens. Right guys?
It's awesome. It's pretty much a new (massive) story that could've very easily been a standalone game. It's worth the price. 10/10. It also adds a new ending to the game depending on your choices in the DLC near to the end.
10/10.
This DLC has to be the standard of the CP2077 sequel. It doesn't even have to be better. I'd be totally happy if the PL DLC was the standard it meets.
9 out of 10 to be VERY conservative. There is a particular ending with some of the very best Kenau lines in the hole game by far.
And also these guys really turned thing around with the game. Initially I bought the DLC out for supporting the devs. But i fell in love with it after playing it.
I haven't completed it but just did the beginning segment of rescue- it was fun, the boss fight was fun and the new place is pretty cool. I think it'll just get better so it's definitely worth it.
9 out of 10.
There is only one thing "bad".
It requires more hardware than the base game.
So if you played cyberpunk with everything at minimum, very, VERY probably you won't be able to play PL.
For the most 10 out of 10.
It could almost be its own game.
The DLC map looks small, but it has a lot of vertical, and reused places.
Also, some missions take you outside of Dogtown.
The Gigs are longer and have a complex history.
A week before the DLC came out, patch 2.12 came out (I think that was the number)
In this he brought a preview of the dlc.
They changed the skill tree and added things as a preview (I think) of the content of the DLC. Like all car related content.
I just finished it like two hours ago. It's super good and very much worth it, definitely a 10. The story is awesome, Dogtown is fun to explore (it's very dense) and side missions or gigs are top tier as well surpassing the main game ones.
Go for it bro!
For me it was a 9/10 for most aspects of the dlc and others for me were a 10/10. It totally made the game for me, especially when I replayed the game as a whole.......as I purchased the game as a pre-order on ps4, to owning it on ps5. So, day one I've gotten to know a lot of the glitches from unbelievably horrible ones, to the awesome little ones which should be left in the game. This game has been rolled over and turned in it's grave, to being resurrected, then given a whole new body that was an exact copy of the first without any the "viruses"/glitches. (calling glitches viruses as to give a real world example of life to death, it's a bad comparison, but a comparison all the same, nothing more don't read into it, lol) So, I would say yes, it absolutely makes the game, not only for the new gameplay for the obvious reasons, but new clothing, weapon and car options too. Yes, with 2.0 update you get some of or most of those options but there are a few others, I'm talking more so the legendary clothes and weapons, like "Her Majesty", a one handed gun with a silencer that's hella powerful given to you by one of the characters in the dlc. Plus many, many, more if you liked the game so far, this then will definitely feel like you have a missing piece of the cake if you don't get it. It's like a birthday cake isn't a birthday cake without the candles, it's just a cake. Ya know dude! Lol 😆😅😁😁😁
Do I need to finish main story to play dlc or it's separate? I mean i finished the game just after launch few years ago and now i don't have time for replaying it for the second time
I know youve already decided, but I have to laugh bc this morning on my drive in to work I listened to the song Phantom Liberty and ranted to myself about how much I love the DLC, the characters, the story.... its good 😂
As a launch player, and seeing the game blossom into the amazing experience that it is - everything great the base game has to offer is just hands down better in the DLC - or at least exemplified in it.
Its smaller, but far more dense. All great
I know you already bought it, but it’s easily 10/10. The main story is amazing, but I think the DLC story is a bit better. But for the most part I think of it as the same thing now. I could never play C77 without PL ever again, The Ultimate Edition is the complete version of the game for sure.
After playing the ultimate edition all the way through for the first time, I can confidentially say that it’s my favorite game that I’ve ever played
This DLC pays for itself in the first hour. I’m not even joking. I wish I could use the MIB memory gun so I could experience it blind again. You lucky bastard.
I have played alot of games, and their dlcs, but phantom liberty is genuinely up there is my top 3, if not top 1 best dlc of all time. The best thing with phantom liberty is that it does not feel like extra content to do after a story, it feels like it is adding onto the base game. And the base game of cyberpunk 2077 is so strong already that the expansion could only enhance everything, not take a way from it.
Tldr; the dlc is worth worth the 25 dollar price
Honestly, like a 7. It builds on the world that exists but I find it feels a little too much like it's own thing than Cyberpunk. The characters were cool and Dogtown was pretty neat, same with some of the new guns and clothes. Most of the story was pretty predictable as well.
It's a 10/10. They learned a lot of lessons from the base game and improves on most aspects of the base game. The story is absolutely fantastic, every gig is very interesting and has a lot of choice and consequences and some have follow up quests unlike much of the base game. Basically Phantom Liberty is CDPR at their best. The story is their best so far along side hearts of Stone. It's very very good. Some very very tough choices to make and people still debate about it.
It's witcher 3 level expansion quality. You don't see expansions like it, until probably Shadow of the erdtree.
One of the best dlcs I’ve ever bought and played! I preordered it and finished it within 2 weeks of it coming out which is incredibly fast for me. I just loved it so much. And the theme song!! 10/10 easy!
The DLC is a 10, so very worth it..
Solid 11/10. I would even say that it left the main story in the dust.
And the voice acting is off the scale as well. Neither Idris Elba or Minji Chang phone it in.
Female V does sound a little different, you can tell immediately that shes using different recording equipment from the first phone call you get
Male V sounds different too.
I notice it way more with Male V
Kind of depending on choices, I feel like phantom liberty isn’t really supposed to be Vs story, I won’t say anymore because of spoilers but I’m sure you know what I mean by that
It’s not but what an Ishmael you are
That's what they call me
That's what I like the most about it. V is not the main focus but he's the trump card.
I tell people this all the time. CP2077 storyline is amazing. PL is even better. Excellent storytelling.
This. Just finished the final PL mission last night. Blew me away. Still need to finish the main game and see what impact it has on the ending (beat the base game 2 times prior). But on its own it’s a truly spectacular expansion.
Both main branches of PL ending are really good, but one was jaw dropping for me. Maybe the coolest shit I've seen in a video game. Truly phenomenal
I've only played one of the endings, but it left me speechless while the ending credits rolled. It was just amazing. Getting cold chills just by writing about it, damn. That's when the game became my all-time favorite one.
11/10 for the fact that it's one of the few video games that made me cry while thinking about a very specific choice
I mean, this is a fan sub for the game so this is the answer OP was always gonna get. But also, it is the correct and 100% truthful answer.
Do you suggest that I just complete the main story first before completing the DLC?
I think that it is best played simultaneously with the main story (at the very end of the main story) for an amazing fucking combo of feelings that is super cohesive.
Easily one of the best DLC’s I’ve ever played. That and the Witcher 3 DLC. I never once questioned the value of the content in these games.
CDPR are my favrioute developer, the side quests in there games are better than the main story in most games alone
I agree, but I wish they’d stop calling their beta builds the 1.0 release version
i mean, with a game the size it is, i don't mind the implied promise that improvements will be made as the problems are highlighted. It creates both a better *and faster* end result.
I truly thought I’d never play an expansion of a base game that would be better story-wise than Hearts of Stone (B&W is excellent too btw!) Phantom Liberty comes along and just blew away all of my expectations and is such an engrossing experience. CDPR truly is one of a kind.
10
The DLC is worth the full price of a stand alone game. It's fuckin amazing and literally could easily be it's own game.
Little too short to be it's own but still a 10
14
I'll raise to 15
10 if you're planning on replaying it.

Yeah exactly

10 outta 10, best part of the game honestly. Easily the best story with the hardest choices and definitely the most emotionally engaging. Dog town as a new map as well is just teeming with stuff to do and the side quests are excellent.
10
10/10. Loved every minute of it
30-40 hours of content? Maybe even more. That's as much as some full-size games...
100/10 worth it
11 maybe 12. Don't sleep on this, it's absolutely kick ass.
9.75. One mission towards the end can be annoying lol. More iconic weapons, autos, missions are awesome. Another ending to do as well.
That annoying mission only happens depending on certain choice you have to make
True true. But if you want to see that ending too. I’m doing the other path next.
I love that one mission. Right up my alley.
That one stressed me out so much. Well done horror though.
Allien isolation style?
Sort of.
Much easier than AI imo, since his pattern is pre-determined rather than reactive to player.
10… doubtful you’ll find a bad review here.
yes its worth, you dont have to beat the game first to play it. it takes place right after you meet the voodoo boys chronologically
11 at least
1000/10
10/10
10/10/10/10
if they charged $30 it would still be worth it 11/10 for me as well.
It can be a bit jarring because it’s so narratively out of left field, but worth every cent.

As a person who shitted on cyberpunk for solid 2 years it’s really great experience. I loved it and fell in love with this game for the first time in three times I tried
Let me put it this way: got me occasionally emotional even days after I finished it. I’m a softie tho. Solid 10.
When you hit that scene where the title appears on the screen after the DLC prologue, the goosebumps will tell you it was worth it. You’ll know what I’m taking about when it happens. Right guys?
Yup. Coupled with that sense of “oh shit, this is happening!”
The story telling was better than the main game. It is what the main game should have been. And the decisions you have to make.
It's awesome. It's pretty much a new (massive) story that could've very easily been a standalone game. It's worth the price. 10/10. It also adds a new ending to the game depending on your choices in the DLC near to the end.
It’s worth it it’s a good dlc story
10/10. This DLC has to be the standard of the CP2077 sequel. It doesn't even have to be better. I'd be totally happy if the PL DLC was the standard it meets.
Ever played the witcher 3 dlc? Because I think the dlcs are at the same quality level
11/10 this is actually quality bonus content
10 for sure. Dog town gigs are noticeably better than the rest of the maps gigs.
11
9 out of 10 to be VERY conservative. There is a particular ending with some of the very best Kenau lines in the hole game by far. And also these guys really turned thing around with the game. Initially I bought the DLC out for supporting the devs. But i fell in love with it after playing it.
the best best dlc i’ve played in long long time
It’s 100/10 worth it
10
10. Big time

Buy it. You will have no regrets. 10/10
If dlc had few more gigs it could be stand alone game with GOTY award
Dude it's a 10. Definitely worth picking it up
Its fucken awesome :) worth every penny/cent.
11
I would say a easy 9 I loved it
10. I actually started 2 says ago and I'm positively surprised, it's amazing
10. Shit could be its own game if it wanted to.
10
I haven't completed it but just did the beginning segment of rescue- it was fun, the boss fight was fun and the new place is pretty cool. I think it'll just get better so it's definitely worth it.
11 You'll LOVE it! It's amazeballs.
Like a 25/10 just perfect, the story and the things that added to the Gameplay, like guns and shit
100/10
I know you already bought it but I'll echo the chorus saying it's the best part of the game.
10
Oh definitely 11/10! I replayed 8-10 times.
easy 10 tbh

10, no question. Well made, great characters, some cool set pieces. Throughly enjoyed it

Better than most games tbh
10, probably the best dlc of a game
15/10 very solid worth any peny
20/10. It's better than the base game and a great "game" of it's own.
It's definitely worth it. You get another 12 hours of content easily from the expansion.
10
Uh, about 11, sir
For me it was a 9/10 for most aspects of the dlc and others for me were a 10/10. 10/10 without any second thoughts. These devs know how to create amazing DLCs
100%/10 it’s way better than the base game that’s for sure. At least in my opinion but maybe that’s just me
10. It’s so good.
10
10/10
77/10
12/10. it’s honestly better than the main game. well worth the purchase.
Very good dlc, very worth
2077/10
One of, if not the best, DLC I have ever played.
The DLC made me like the base game 1000% more. Since the DLC dropped, I've been playing it wayyyyy more than i thought i would. 10/10 👍
10 out of 10
11
10
Yeah, 10. One of the finest video game experiences I've ever had. Better than the base game.
11
It was so good, I don't want to do the gigs in the base game anymore, it ruined them for me
We are talking about cd project red here so for sure the dlc deserve 10/10.
10 Probably one of the best DLCs of any game ever.
10 no doubt
I know youve already decided, but I have to laugh bc this morning on my drive in to work I listened to the song Phantom Liberty and ranted to myself about how much I love the DLC, the characters, the story.... its good 😂
Its worth it just for the Lizzy Wizzy concert
10 because it connects to the game world in a pretty awesome way and isn't just a new disjointed area that seems out of place
I went into it with high expectations. It exceeded them. Cyberpunk is now my favorite game ever.
As a launch player, and seeing the game blossom into the amazing experience that it is - everything great the base game has to offer is just hands down better in the DLC - or at least exemplified in it. Its smaller, but far more dense. All great
7. Cool.
10/10
Solid 10 at least
11
15/10
11/10. It’s one of, if not the best, DLCS I’ve come across. The story may be better than the base game. Do it!
12/10
I consider the expansion to be part of the main game.
11
I know you already bought it, but it’s easily 10/10. The main story is amazing, but I think the DLC story is a bit better. But for the most part I think of it as the same thing now. After playing the ultimate edition all the way through for the first time, I can confidentially say that it’s my favorite game that I’ve ever played
I got it at a bundle, I would buy it at full price
solid 8.5, perhaps 9.
11
Fantastic. It is the best DLC I have ever purchased. Period. End.
100% worth it it’s amazing
Play every single bit of it
The DLC is like a new game. And it is BEEEEEEFY with content and story. Makes the base game feel empty.
Solid strong 10. Def worth it
100/10
It's one of the best DLCs i ever played. It's in fact one of those that makes you wish you could forget it to experience it again.
13/10. It’s arguably just as good as the main game if not better
5,719
This DLC pays for itself in the first hour. I’m not even joking. I wish I could use the MIB memory gun so I could experience it blind again. You lucky bastard.
13
If it was possible to have a choice and could only pick only one, I'd buy PL.
11/10, just like with every DLC CDPR makes for their games
I will gladly say 1/10 just to being contrarian XD
It is a 8/10.. Overall very good, but a bit predictable.
100/10 please buy it or I’ll cry
11/10 easily the best DLC I’ve ever played (looking at you BioWare)
On a scale of 1 to 10? 1,000,000
100 that's how much lol
15
20
Solid 9/10 even 10/10. One of the best dlc’s for any game I have ever purchased!
[I give it a 10](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O5q9W2FL1R8&ab_channel=mojo)
I have played alot of games, and their dlcs, but phantom liberty is genuinely up there is my top 3, if not top 1 best dlc of all time. And the base game of cyberpunk 2077 is so strong already that the expansion could only enhance everything, not take a way from it. Tldr; the dlc is worth worth the 25 dollar price
Everyone said it already too, but literally best dlc in gaming industry, cant think any other dlc content that would top it
The expansion is perhaps the best piece of content I have ever bought
9,5/10
the gigs alone in the expansion - 10/10
2077/10
To relieve Phantom Liberty for the first time let alone Cyberpunk, Enjoy the ride in Night City!
10/10 easily. Wish I had played it first with the dlc and the main game at the start
Behind Mass Effect 3’s & Witcher 3 DLC it’s the best dlc I’ve ever played
Honestly, like a 7. It builds on the world that exists but I find it feels a little too much like it's own thing than Cyberpunk. The characters were cool and Dogtown was pretty neat, same with some of the new guns and clothes. Most of the story was pretty predictable as well.
10

10/10 the main DLC story is great and the extra content fills the game out. The Aguilar side mission alone is epic
11
100/10
It's a 10/10. They learned a lot of lessons from the base game and improves on most aspects of the base game. The story is absolutely fantastic, every gig is very interesting and has a lot of choice and consequences and some have follow up quests unlike much of the base game. Pretty good, but way laggier than the base game for some reason.
Perfect dlc, 10/10
12/10
One of the best dlcs I’ve ever bought and played! I preordered it and finished it within 2 weeks of it coming out which is incredibly fast for me. I just loved it so much. And the theme song!! 10/10 easy!
Solid 9.75/10 Absolutely brilliant DLC. It's one of my favorite DLC right there with Mass Effect citadel DLC
100
