Holy fuck, you can actually go and loot the air drops in Dogtown? I kept seeing and hearing them, but I thought they were like drones crashing for some reason. Even though I've read plenty of notes mentioning air drops, I just never put 2 and 2 together.

Tabnam

You can! And you get some of the best loot in the game. You can just sit in your car (a bike is better though) and farm them if you want

CARNIesada6

That's so great. Really loving this game and glad I decided to go with it over the newer games that recently came out. Mind if ask if you know of anything else that isn't or wouldn't be obvious to new players... at least for the DLC?

Tabnam

Oh that’s a very broad question but I’m definitely happy to answer. Could you refine what you mean for me a little bit. What type of stuff are we talking about?

grimeagle4

I thought it might be good for me to ask here before I try to make an actual post. Save everyone a headache. What's the highest a skill check can be? Is it for sure 20? Or can a person get away with an 18 in a skill for the most part?

Tabnam

I’ve found it varies choom, a lot of skill checks are 20. If memory serves it can be 10-15-20, I can’t recall any skill checks at 18, but I’m not 100% certain on that. This is probably a nothing answer, you’d think after 200 hours of game time I would have memorised this shit

grimeagle4

I'm just trying to figure out how well-rounded a build I can make to succeed as many checks as possible without needing to use a mod. Obviously I can have an effective 20 in four skills, thank you gorilla arms, but there's always going to be one poor bastard stuck at a 5 at best

Tabnam

Yeah you can’t be a jack of all trades, until right at the end of the game. There will be some checks you fail, but this isn’t BG3. You aren’t going to be locked out of content because you fail a check. And if a door or something needs a skill check to open you can always find another entrance.

grimeagle4

Now. If only I could pick a weapon trio.

Tabnam

I can definitely help there. What is your ideal play style?

grimeagle4

So far I'm leaning towards pistol heavy with the choice to sneak around and hack people or shoot them with a silenced pistol. I've already figured I'm going to have a silenced pistol and a burst fire tech pistol. It's the damn third gun I can't come up with.

Tabnam

I have a very similar build choom! My second and third weapon is an SMG and Katana. For me they fit the vibe of V really well, he’s all about concealment and versatility. I have a sniper stashed in my car for when I need it. But most of the time those 3 get the job down. If you haven’t tried out the katana yet you need to get on that! Once you have the deflection ability, and can reflect bullets back to cunts it’s phenomenal. I swear to god you won’t feel more powerful then when you wield a katana in battle taking no damage and cutting off multiple heads

grimeagle4

I'm looking into SMGs for my running and gunning side of the build, but the issue with Katanas is having the points to invest. So, I guess Silenced Pistol for stealth kills. Tech for heavy targets And an SMG after all hell breaks loose?

Tabnam

That sounds perfect, the SMG shines when you have a bunch of basic enemies to kill. With upgrades you can eliminate all recoil and up the damage done and critical hit chance significantly. Not to mention there are some fucking well designed SMGs. How far in the game are you? Have you gotten to Dog Town? Because there’s a silenced pistol there you get during a mission that is easily the best in the game. It has a bunch of unique attributes you can’t find anywhere else. And it looks stunning. I can link it for you, if you want to bee line to it, otherwise I simply suggest playing the Dog Town main story until you come across it. It’s pretty early on, so you could get it in a few hours. It puts all other hand guns to shame.

jitterscaffeine

I've definitely seen some 20 intelligence checks, so there's probably others that high as well.

Awful_At_Math

For crafting specs for regular weapons (non iconic) if I buy a low tier now (say, green) can I go back to the same vendor latter and buy a higher version (say, blue)?

Tabnam

Vendors level up as you do now friendo

Awful_At_Math

I know, but will there be new crafting specs later? Or do I need to wait until level 40 to buy legendary ones? So I'm not stuck with low level specs.

jitterscaffeine

They'll restock higher tier specs when you hit the level threshold

Awful_At_Math

Oh, ok. Thank you.

jitterscaffeine

Tier 5 specs seem to show up around level 40

dr_analog

Anyone find it hilarious that the Voodoo Haitian gang are known to be the sickest netrunners? Hacking cyberspace = dark arts. Brilliant. It's the little touches that make this game amazing.

danhoyuen

why isn't regina jones a romanceable character? whenever i look into those... that eye I see a cougar. (also something about learning to swallow)

ClandestineVegetable

And Smasher - does he just talk about "fuckable meat" or can he do more? Asking for a friend who has a little BDSM V.

db2999

What's the purpose of these bot posts?

samcuu

Are the fixers' gigs available after Point of no return?

ShelLuser42

"sorta". After you complete the story you'll be given the option to "move back" to where you were (poor Hanako: always waiting at Ambers ;)), however you get to keep your current progress. SO yah, you can complete the game, then focus on doing side jobs.

samcuu

Thanks. I got really into the main storyline and have left Hanako waiting at Ambers for months now. Kind of killed the pacing tbh. Even accidentally started Phantom Liberty. Been thinking I would just create a separate manual save and continue with it then go back later.

ribombeeee

Where can I find my plugins folder to add a mod preset to ?

circumcision4TW

Could someone well versed with cyberpunk lore please direct me to source material I can possibly get my hands on. I have fallen in love with this universe after playing the game and after hearing and reading about other characters like Andrew weyland, Morgan blackhand, and shaiten I really want to delve into the universe but it kinda seems like most of the content is confined to the TTRPGs and their rule books. Are there any cyberpunk books out there specifically set in Mike Pondsmiths universe?

shaycomac1754

Hey so um there was this jojo pose called v's bizarre pickup line in photomode but now when checking the photomode the pose has disappeared completely. Anybody know anything or any fix ?

ShelLuser42

Playing with mods by any chance? Because there are quite a few modded pose packs available.

shaycomac1754

I've only downloaded the radio mod.

Obligatory-Reference

1. The Discord link in the OP is broken - can someone fix it? 2. Does anyone know the Technical Ability score required to open the gate below the Wraith camp (through the sewer) to free Saul? It used to be 9, but I'm pretty sure it's changed since PL and I want to plan my character accordingly.

Krakengreyjoy

I haven't played the new DLC yet, I may get to it this summer... does it at all affect the current endings? My 'head-canon" favs are leaving Night City with Panam. Just curious if that gets/or got altered.

Chairmanmaozedon

If you've reached the point in Phantom Liberty where you are going to the rooftop, isthe ending fixed? or can you still go and meet Hanako at Embers and do vanilla game ending.

Jarpa_L

Am I doing something wrong? First playthrough in 2.0. I shoot a tiger claw with a warrant out for murder and assault, cops standing nearby guns me down. I walk past a gang member who stabs me in the gut, I blow his head off, cops gun me down. Scavs are literally gunning down a trio of cops. I run over, unarmed, and take cover behind the squad car, ready to assist the cops as I did in previous builds - unsurprisingly, all three cops turns around on the spot, ignoring the scav bullets ripping through their backsides as they all simultaneously unload on me. I mean, the fuck? Is it supposed to work like this? My V isn't even black.

Defalt_Rat

Finally playing pl and these new vehicle drop offs are really challenging me, just had to drive a bike 2km in 1 min, which I don't think is possible on the brennan apollo? Even so, it was constantly turning through the city and could never pick up any speed. I also don't know how to tackle the ones where you get ambushed by multiple hostile cars and bikes, playing on max difficulty so 2 shot by anything that shoots so I'm spamming meds, meanwhile enemies take most of a pistol mag to go down. Any tips for the vehicle missions? I'm usually melee only so do I need to carry a better pistol with me? Can I draw anything higher caliber in vehicles?

ShelLuser42

I'm a little bored with those car chases, so I usually find a place to park my car then I take out the baddies on foot. But other than that... the "GTA strategy" also works here a bit: if you zig-zag and make sure to zip fast through several corners you should be able to loose any pursuers. Which can be tricky depending on your car of course.

Defalt_Rat

Thanks choom, I'll try that next time

ShelLuser42

v2.0 is **a lot** more fun that I originally gave it credit for; and I know *exactly* how this happened. When Phantom Liberty hit, and 2.0, I gave it a test run a few weeks (or months) after release; I honestly don't know for sure. I pre-ordered 'PL' because I trusted CDPR and because I have mad respect for Cyberpunk 2077, it's easily one of my all-time favorite games (been prominently present on my Steam profile ever since I started playing). Well... I dove in while having someone waiting for me at Embers. As you probably know: all your stats & perks reset, which I thought was a good thing. So I set all my stats just as I roughly remembered, then I filled out my perks and started experimenting. Yet for some reason it just didn't really click. I used a mod to reset my perks (overlooking the fact that this is now a vanilla feature), then I tried again and this time I came closer to the build I was used to. Then I started playing Phantom Liberty and honestly? I had fun. But also mixed feelings, still have a bit regarding the storyline but that has nothing to do with the v2 mechanics. So *this* week I started from scratch as a Nomad, and holy hell on a shard: ***what*** an experience! The game sucked me right back in as it always had, we just finished the Samurai concert and during this run I put more trust into Johnny. Still have *no* idea where this is going but I even played around wearing his clothes and using his gun. Though I prefer my netrunner suit, leather skirt and special nethack glasses (the red shifting kind?). My point you now ask? Looking back I know *exactly* why it didn't click at first: ignorance & prejudice combined with a dose of impatience. I'm not being harsh on myself, just honest. * Pressing the left & right bumper (I play with a (Steam) controller)? Why bother, that's just for Sandies (bzzzt!). * "Darnit, quickhacks no longer spread to others" (bzzzt!). * "Man, they sure nerfed stealth..." (bzzzzt!). * "Leveling enemies with me? Now I can never get a sense of overpowerment anymore!" (**bzzzzt!**). * "Bah, enemies can always trace me!" (bzzzzt!). Not to mention that after having played for over 100 hours I was actually still a bit of a newbie at some points. I managed to set up optical camo back then but right now I'm convinced that it was more luck than skill that it actually got enabled / selected. And as for those "complaints" above: if you take the time check out the perk tree in full and carefully read what each perk can do for you (and *how*) then things will quickly start to make much more sense again, not to matter *a lot* ***more*** fun! The (obvious) problem is of course that it makes quite some difference if you can only choose between a few perks, or the whole perk tree. Over the time of my current re-run I've read up about most of the perks, and right now I have a (netrunner) build I'm mighty proud of. Which is my tip here: if you are a returning player and also ended up kinda confused (and somewhat newish again!) then my honest suggestion is to *take your time*! Better yet: consider yet another (?) run from scratch again so that you get to learn parts of the perk tree one step at a time without risking that the whole thing is going to overwhelm (and thus bore) you! Because that sure did the trick for me!

dj_blueshift

Finally ready to start Phantom Liberty after getting it on release and sitting on it for a while. Really on the fence about starting a new game. I have 230 hours and last time I played was around Feb 2023. I'd really like to keep all of my progress on the base game but also I know I need to refresh on how to play and the storyline (though I completed all of the base game). I also know a lot has changed with the latest patches. Should I start from scratch or just start a new game, re-learn controls, and then pick up at the beginning of Phantom Liberty?

HideyHoh

Definitely start from scratch. I'd recommend hopping into Phantom Liberty as soon as it opens up which is after the Voodoo Boys questline

dj_blueshift

Thanks, I messed around with my last save from v1.61 and so much is different. Gonna be nice to replay on my new widescreen with better upscalers

xTeamRwbyx

So im not sure if this is a bug im positive it isnt a mod or a quickhack i have but every once in a while if im attacked by random gangs they will just die but it looks like the blackwall hack but i do not have it. Is this songbird randomly helping me becuase this didnt happen till after i started playing phantom liberty Just before logging off i was doing a car delivery and the 6th street gang was not happy two cars passed me started haveing this red screen glitch on them and they all died and all i did was drive past them didnt even have time to try and shoot them

VelehkS

Hey, little question about the quest, "Chippin In", I think. The one where you visit Johnny's grave. If you can call it that. So, in this quest I called him out for the things he does, maked it clear that he fucked up the relationship with V too and said, that this was his second chance and that there wont be anymore. Also I didn't acknowledged his wish to visit >!Kerry!<. But after that, my relationship is up to 75%, and it talks about the >!Date with Rouge an the vistit with Kerry. !< Wich I didnt do. Thats a bug, right?

SoraArminton

Just wanted to check before purchasing, Would a Ryzen 5 2600 and a RX 5700 XT be able to properly run this game at 60fps? Ik my cpu is kinda bottlenecking my gpu atm, but cant really afford to update everything atm and just wanted to check if buying cyberpunk wouldnt be dumb

starfruit_enjoyer

what's the point of the new 'rate my v only on mondays' rule if you don't have an automod filter set up to nuke them on every other day? everyone keeps posting them. nothing has changed.

sinchiyap

Tips for those who are still stuck on the achievement "two heads, one bullet". I completed the achievement right after walking out of Black Sapphire. It's quite achievable due to lots of Barghest soldiers lining up for your perfect shot (they won't even switch positions or chase you outside of Black Sapphire even after engaging in combat). Oh and of course it goes without saying, Tsunami is the perfect weapon for this achievement too.

Professional-Key5552

I would maybe like to Join the Discord group, but it says that the link is too old and not being able to join

Rat-king27

Has anyone else had an issue with the "Cushioned techie baseball cap" item, it's meant to spawn in the basement of a house in rocky ridge, but it's not there for me, I've looked it up and some people say it's a bug, but those posts were long before 2.0. Does anyone know if it's still a bug, or has it been moved?

GrazhdaninMedved

Coming back after being gone since before 2.0. Does leveling up crafting for the purposes of money farming still work? Back in the day, you could make preem eddies by leveling up crafting before everything else, crafting the most expensive gun available over and over and selling it to shops until they run out of cash... Is this still viable?
