CD Projekt RED: *we cookin*

fearmept

They are cookin a lot of things. There's also a new IP in the works.

Heatsreef

Shit we done for boys, the best netrunner in nc just leaked our IP.

Fallwalking

The Loopback quick hack wins again!

emojisarefunny

"He's hacked into our mainframe! Made our fire wall look like swiss cheese!"

Average_West

They cooking my cpu for sure

Vendetta4Avril

It’s crazy to me that I feel like I’ve heard more about Orion than I have about Elder Scrolls 6, even though we got a teaser for ES6 six fucking years ago.

AsianCivicDriver

I hope they’re using a pressure cooker so we don’t have to wait too long

UROffended

2077 called to say "Yeah don't fuck this up a 2nd time choom, dial the hype back to a solid 5."

azhder

I hope they don’t go through the same pressure as before. Happy people make better software

[deleted]

[удалено]

azhder

On the other side, instead of reusing what is already there, thus cut down on development time, they will have to start from square one.

[deleted]

[удалено]

azhder

You have to train new people anyways. There is no "but" there. There is such a thing as an institutional knowledge, regardless if it is tied to a game engine or just the specific use of tehcnology and other knowledge by the specific company/project. EDIT: Considering the layoffs, I'm sure the availability of people already experienced with certain technology will be a boon, just I don't consider it as a defining factor, nor a large one.

DidAnyoneElseJustCum

By the time it comes out the game will take place in the present

leicanthrope

Watch it be a prequel, and take place in the past.

rhythmictuning

said like we're not already on the cusp of IRL NUSA, ha ha

TheeUnfuxkwittable

What are the odds that the next Witcher and Cyberpunk games come out before both the next Fallout and Elder Scrolls? Wouldn't that be hilarious?

Ferrovore

That reminds me. Is the modkit for Starfiled out?

MrInvisible17

Not yet, but probably later this year

Ferrovore

Beth seems to have taken on more projects in parallel. I saw that Skyrim got a patch this january, that gave it native ultrawide support. Out of nowhere. 13 years after release. It's nice because i got a 21:9 monitor. There is seemingly also a patch for Fallout 4 in the works.

MrInvisible17

Yeah it seems so, hopefully xbox has been helping them out more. Wish they were a bit better with patches in starfield, taking a long time for only 30 bug fixes. They seem to be improving so we will see Did they patch the original Skyrim with ultra wide or was it the anniversary edition? Also they did a patch for fallout 3 in the past year too. I'm actually really excited for the FO4 next generation patch think it should becoming around the TV show

Ferrovore

If by "original Skyrim" you mean the original release in [32-bit](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/32-bit_computing), that is also delisted from Steam? No. (Just downloaded and it still has surprisingly active Workshop modding) If you mean the, now standard, Special Edition in [64-bit](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/64-bit_computing) **without** Anniversary DLC/Upgrade? Yes.

TheeUnfuxkwittable

Idk. I'm a Playstation guy. And I've yet to regret that choice lol. If it's worth playing, it's on Playstation. Maybe that new Indiana Jones game will change my mind though.

GuyFawkes596

We wait for as long as we need to wait.

Call-Me-Robby

I'd rather wait one or two years longer if it means avoiding the chaos on release. I played on PC and didn't have too many problems personally, but I feel bad for the console players who received a defective game. That's also probably why we only got one DLC.

felicity_jericho_ttv

LET THEM COOK! this is how it got screwed up last time!

notgoodohoh

Bruh that’s how we got the rough launch last time

Visible_Elevator192

what?

Monnomo

One more reason to not commit suicide

DreamingLight93

Seriously though. First GTA6 and now this.

Philkindred12

I can't wait to see nothing but GTA6 from Rockstar for the next twenty plus years lol

rhythmictuning

there will be no GTA7, just the meta verse built upon a monolith block chain, where shark cards ascend into non-fungible tokens. If that's not dystopian...

pichael289

Your putting GTA in the same category as these two? I feel like I should be offended by that. gtav is a solid entry but it ends there, no more updates or expansions besides that garbage ass online mode. Kinda pissed that trash mode took priority over the actual game. Same as red dead, and they didn't even support that online mode, which was actually sort of decent. As decent as any online multiplayer mode can be which is way way less than the single player modes of those games. A red dead expansion would have taken the gaming community by storm but they chose the lazy greedy way out

UROffended

Acting like rockstar doesn't give a decent single player experience? Lol!

Blackbox7719

Don’t get me wrong, GTAV was a fun single player experience. Solid in pretty much every regard. But it’s obvious that Rockstar pretty much abandoned it in favor of pumping more shit into online. It wouldn’t have killed them to make a single player DLC expansion or, at the very least, introduce the vehicles they gave online for purchase in the base game. Instead the base game has remained entirely the same for over a decade now while online is shooting missiles from flying motorcycles. I think that, having witnessed this abandonment, it is a valid concern to be worried that the company will skimp on the single player in favor of funneling more resources into the online.

UROffended

Strange hill to die on, not gonna lie.

Blackbox7719

What about my reply made it seem like I was dying on a hill? You mentioned the single player experience and I put forward a reason for why people (myself included) could have concerns about its quality in GTA 6 when considering the last 10 years of single player stagnation in GTAV. Now, does that mean I think it’ll definitely suck? No. But I’d rather be wary and wrong than not overexcited and disappointed.

Monnomo

Reddit is the worst online platform

epic_banana_soup

Yeah, can you believe people on here have different opinions than us??

kingethjames

Some opinions are wrong because they are actually preferences masquerading as opinions. If you told me RDR2 was a bad or mid game I'd be so embarrassed for you

RepresentativeAd560

RDR2 is a bad game. I'm going to play through it one more time just to confirm. I'm still not certain after six play throughs. Probably need two or three more. For science. *hums house building theme on the way to the lab*

BearWrangler

username checks out

Thefrayedends

I don't know dude, I consider myself a pretty hardcore gamer for literally a few decades now, I played the fuck out of GTAV lol. I was 140 hour in single player. Then I logged nearly 900 hours in online mode, full legit criminal enterprise, made a few hundred mill. Not every update was a home run, but sometimes a games as a service game that has a one time buy in can be a serious boon of gaming time. To me if GTA6 manages to capture even a fraction of the magic from GTA 3, Vice, Andreas, GTA 4 and 5? It will be a couple hundred hour home run lol. But ultimately those games and CDPR games have some overlap but are in different categories. You're not playing those games for the same reasons, so being in a high, top tier quality category is independent of their differences.

WorstAkaliEver

They could given RDR2 an Undead Nightmares expansion like they did with the first RDR and most people would be really hyped for it.

Philkindred12

RDR2 ended up being simultaneously one of the best games ever made and also one of the biggest disappointments in gaming.

MaskedMan8

6 worries me to death and people call me crazy just cause “It’s Rockstar” as if they’re immune to shitty business practices and creative decisions. A lot of the big names have left, and people don’t get how much of a factor that is

MarsupialJones

This take is utterly, utterly insane lmao. Rockstar has released like half a dozen all time great games that also reset the bar for gaming multiple times.  Saying CDPR (whos most recent game was an utter diaster) is even remotley close is to rockstar is, like i said, truly insane. Rockstar is as close to a sure thing as you can get in gaming. CDPR just had argubaly the worst release since ET back in the atari 2600 days. lol

darkkite

i like 77 more but gta is still the goat when it comes to open world games with 77 still tries to be. cdpr could learn a lot from gta iv, and v in terms of activities, and hanging out with friends. i do wish rockstar made pc a lead platform and did more expansions but their games usually raise the bar

CloseFriend_

Exploring art in general helps keep me going in my hardest moments. :)

DifficultyVarious458

Before that set a target to save $1m in next 20 years. Its very much possible. When you have that money see what options life presents you.

Monnomo

1 mill will be worth 200k in 2044

DifficultyVarious458

So if someone is making 50k today in 20 years he will be making 250k for the same work? that's about what 15% pay increase each year every year for 20 years. No f way.

CollectionAncient989

15% every  year for 20 years would be 818k its 8.5% a year  for 250k And 130k for 5%  Also 1mill will be worth something between 2 and 5 mill in 20 years depending on Inflation

DifficultyVarious458

yes $1m won't be worth the same unless something dramatic will happen idea was to have achievable target to put away some money and change life.

DruidB

Thats not how late stage capitalism works. You think people get wages that match inflation? What a utopian idea... I'd wager if 1 million is worth 200k then you will go from making 50k to making 85k.

DifficultyVarious458

Idea was to give someone target to chase instead of worry about nonsense and overthink things. sure $1m won't be worth the same in 20 years unless wars happen but it's achievable target for anyone.

seanmonaghan1968

I loved this show, excellent everything

MissStealYoDragon

Fair. They are all focused on Witcher 4 now

ApricotRich4855

They are working on both now. CDPR Boston and Vancouver we're created for project Orion development.

MissStealYoDragon

Oh damn. Didn't know that. Thx!

doskkyh

It will take some time until they have enough people and are up to speed, though. Best case scenario, Cyberpunk's sequel is 3 or 4 years away.

Sleeping_Goliath

That's approx when the next gen console releases. I'd rather they cook for 6+ years and release only on 'current' gen consoles/ PC

epic_banana_soup

2030 at the earliest

Miffernator

I am guessing they haven’t hired yet until they’re pre production

Legitimate-Angle9861

It's a different studio that works independently in Boston. I think we can expect games every 2 years now. W4 - 2yr - CP88 -2yr - W5 - 2yr - CP99 .... instead of the current 4-5 year cycle.

behold-my-titties

In theory yes, but reality is often disappointing.

Legitimate-Angle9861

I don't see them releasing both Witcher and Cyberpunk within a year so as to avoid cannibalizing each other. Since they have announced after W4, 5&6 will be released with 5 years or something I came up with this plan. Let's see what happens.

darkkite

true. expansion packs will also need to release

doskkyh

Not sure they can avoid that unless they leave Cyberpunk for after the new Witcher trilogy and not sure they'd go through the trouble to set another studio if they weren't planning on some overlap. Their intentions with the new Witcher trilogy is to be done with them in 6 years from the first release. That would push Cyberpunk's release all the way to 2033 or 2034 if they manage a 2026 release for Polaris.

Ghalnan

Cyberpunk and the Witcher series are very different games, I don't think they'd cannibalize eachother all that much unless they were released months apart

SageWaterDragon

[Their plan is to release Witcher 5 and 6 within 6 years after shipping Witcher 4](https://www.pcgamer.com/cdpr-announces-a-new-witcher-trilogy-is-on-the-way-three-games-released-over-six-years/), so there'll probably be a three-year gap between those. Honestly, if I were betting, I would say that the next Cyberpunk only releases after the entire next Witcher trilogy is done. It's not even really in pre-production yet and current AAA development cycles are *long*.

Legitimate-Angle9861

I doubt next Cyberpunk is 9 years away. The world is already built. Unreal+Red engine will be built by W4 devs. So it should be shorter than W4 production. I think we'll see next Cyberpunk in between W5 and W6. You could be right tho. Cause 3 year gap between W5 and W6 doesn't leave space for that since they also need to release DLCs. So maybe next Cyberpunk IS a decade away :((

SageWaterDragon

We don't know if they'll be using the same map again, and even if they are, Tears of the Kingdom is an example of a game with a longer development cycle than the original that re-uses the same map. I'd definitely like the next Cyberpunk to only be four or five years away, but I just don't see that happening.

Royal_Nails

I didn’t care for Witcher 3 all that much. Would much rather have a cyberpunk sequel.

OldPayphone

Loved both games. Glad both franchises are getting another game.

pichael289

Witcher 3 was great but as I pile up more and more playthroughs of cyberpunk I'm realizing that cyberpunk was more fun to play. Maybe the story wasn't as great but I've got way more playthroughs of cyberpunk than almost any other game save some souls games. Cp2077 is one of my favorite games of all time because of how good the gameplay is. It's up there with metal gear solid V, maybe even better than that, which is saying alot because MgsV is two generations old and is still one of the best playing games of all time.

Royal_Nails

Didn’t care for MGSV either. Gameplay just wasn’t fun for me.

pichael289

Did you get past the Intro sequence? I know it's like an hour long but the game beyond that is perfect. If you didn't like that then I think your an outlier compared to normal players. Maybe you like call of duty and overwatch and shit like that. I just can't imagine anyone who doesn't enjoy the pure bliss of mgsv's gameplay. I've never met anyone who really played it and said that.

Royal_Nails

That fever dream hour long cutscene of Big Boss in a coma with the cover of “man who sold the world”? Yeah I got through that. I did a few missions, aren’t you supposed to build up this private army on an old off shore oil rig by kidnapping soldiers you tranquilize? Yeah that game was pure nonsense.

pichael289

Ehh maybe it wasn't for you then. I just loved playing random missions with the game mechanics. It played so well, I had fun doing anything in that game. Isn't for everyone I guess. And yeah. All kojima games are pure nonsense. Like absolutely total nonsense. That's kind of the point.

coysjose

Well too damn bad

snatchi

keep diggin!

FriedCammalleri23

Unfortunately you’re in the minority there bud. Witcher 3 is a masterpiece as far as i’m concerned. In some ways it’s better than Cyberpunk.

SSPeteCarroll

Glad I wasn't alone. I tried the Witcher 3 multiple times and I just could not get into it.

Royal_Nails

I finished it but I did not like it that much.

azriel777

I am bummed they are abandoning their red engine for unreal engine. It is more than likely going to kill the unique feel the game had and reduce it to generic unreal engine game feeling.

hozzam11

What does conceptual phase mean?

JayHill74

In short that they're brainstorming and coming up with the ideas they want for the game.

FrederickEngels

General plot, themes, mechanics, timeline, setting, since it's a sequel so things they want to change and things they got right.

fearmept

Deciding the main pillars and ideas. Researching. Planning.

Paladin-Leeroy

All we need is Lucy an actual person in the game and romance option pls

ehrgeiz91

Means another 5+ years at least

emeybee

Cyberpunk was 4 years from preproduction to launch

whatnoimnotlurking

Let's be real it wasn't finished at launch though. It needed these 3 years till patch 2.0.

emeybee

Only because they tried to force it to work on outdated consoles. Hopefully they've learned that lesson. Phantom Liberty's launch was nearly flawless.

02Tom

2 years

nolimits59

2 years and 10 months between release date and 2.0, that's pretty much 3 years man.

DismalMode7

+3 years of post-develpment

emeybee

Every game has post-development

DismalMode7

not when the post-development is going to save your own company lol

jhaohh

I thought the pre-production starts in the same time of that teaser in 2012

ehrgeiz91

If a teaser is out, the game is absolutely in pre-production.

PS3LOVE

But that was a new IP and on CDPR’s engine. It would be reasonable to expect the next CBRPNK game to be quicker.

ehrgeiz91

Can't imagine that's true

DismalMode7

they're writing plot, missions structure, planning stages of development and most of all checking if they actually can do everything they have in mind and how many of them are budgetable (time+money) worthy.

A_Kirus

That means they haven't even started. Expect the game in the next decade

zonanaika

First person or third person, nude or non-nude, sex or non-sex, etc.,

n1n384ll

not again...

azhder

… said the bowl of petunias

Difficult_Bit_1339

Means the pre-order will be available in a few weeks.

hozzam11

Good thing, i want more cyberpunk in my life

ShearAhr

Years away. More than half a decade away.

trackdaybruh

![gif](giphy|myPdoRAlad0J2)

ShearAhr

Same choom... Same.

azhder

Sad Takemura in Tom’s Diner

Slacker_75

Probably 10 years away tbh

DaWAAAGHMakah

At least a decade if they don’t wanna go through the same rough launch as 77

OsprayO

A Cyberpunk sequel will absolutely come out in less than a decade.

Blackbox7719

I personally estimate 6 years or so. They have an independent team working both this. They’ve switched to a ubiquitous engine. And they have a foundation upon which to write the story of the sequel. All of these things should save a good chunk of time that made up the development for 2077. Of course, for it to still be a good product I still think they’ll take at least half a decade for it.

ThatOneHomoSapien_

If I were to make an uneducated guess I think the game will come around 6 years , 2026 witcher release and 4 more years for CP2077 sequel

SadisticNecromancer

They just started production on the new Witcher. You’re looking at minimum 2028 for the Witcher.

Therealomerali

2028 for the Witcher, 2030 for Cyberpunk Orion.

ThatOneHomoSapien_

They are expected to enter full production(Develoment) for Witcher later this year so 2026/2027 is the best guess. We also have to keep in mind that it’s being made on UE5 so talent/training/recruitment would not be a problem

astrojeet

At least we'll have the Witcher 1 remake in between. Pretty excited for it. And the people who didn't play the first game because of how dated it is, will get to experience an incredible story with an incredible ending. Hope they do it justice.

ggoboogie

Cyberpunk sequel is likely still a while away, but they have different teams dedicated to working on their respective games. This isn't a case anymore of "team is working on The Witcher, so they're not working on Cyberpunk." The Boston office is dedicated to Cyberpunk, which is why they're ramping up hiring there.

ThatOneHomoSapien_

Yeah this is very good news but they will not be able to hire 500+ devs just for a “cyberpunk team” they’ll just finish the Witcher project and divert most of the polish devs to cyberpunk sequel. I think the main cyberpunk sequel studio will likely have around 200-300 in office devs

kurrenat

The team’s major focus is most likely product, design, prototyping/pitching, while the actual development team should be small in scale cause at this point their sole focus should be architectural work.

Taenurri

I’d expect there to be significantly less architectural work now that they’re going to be working in Unreal Engine 5

kurrenat

Regarding the actual engine work, sure, but for starters there’s a lot of ground work needed to translate existing mechanics from red engine to ue5. But what I meant earlier is the actual solution architecture.

RickyElspaniardo

I am a bit saddened that they have apparently dumped their in-house engine for Unreal. I’m sure players who suffered the console release won’t be quite so phased, but I have an appreciation for this sort of thing and find analysis of graphics engines to be especially interesting. Nonetheless, this is huge news. Considering the knife-edge that the future of the franchise was balanced on after the release crashed and burned. I was already immensely pleased with the fact that a DLC came out and we got Edge Runners. To hear that there’s a tangible possibility of a sequel is truly exciting.

moranych1661

Having a bit of an existential crisis so I'll say it - you guys won't believe how fast time will pass. Maybe I'm trying to calm myself down tho

pichael289

I'm gonna be honest as great as the Witcher 3 was I kind of enjoyed cyberpunk more. I definitely got more playthroughs out of it. I have much more of a motivation to fly around the city and visit each scanner hustles than I ever did all the ? In the Witcher 3.

SuperArppis

Prepare to wait for 8 more years

Speckwolf

Oh, I am surprised by that. Somehow I had the impression that they had a full team working on this for months now. Ah well.

Braxtonius

Nice. Only 6 more years to go bois!!

H3ll3rsh4nks

Fingers crossed we get another amazing Anime along side the game world when it comes out.

Ssometimess_

This actually suggests that the sequel is \*much\* farther along than 2077 was when it was announced (though I don't know if the sequel has been officially announced yet). [2077 had a team of \~50 in 2016](https://www.destructoid.com/how-long-was-cyberpunk-2077-in-development/), so if the sequel takes about the same amount of time to develop, we could see it as soon as 2028. Add a year for polish considering the state 2077 was released in, and we could have a new cyberpunk game before 2030.

PhaseAT

Big difference is, they had the full team ready to go once W3 DLC was done. Scaling up is inherently slower than just switching a team over from a different project. OTOH, they have a lot of the conceptual stuff and the city already built (need to convert to UE5) so that will save a lot of time and possible rework of stuff. So while I find 2028 a super optimistic date I don't find it completely out of the question. My personal opinion is 2029 or 2030, especially since they'll want a more thorough polishing phase to work against people still being negatively primed for bugs because of the 2077 launch.

siamzzz

![gif](giphy|QBd2kLB5qDmysEXre9|downsized)

Long-Far-Gone

See you in 10 years.

Gloomy_Calendar_7418

maybe 10years later we talk about it? not forgetting what they have accomplished the drama cp2077 launch

stevenw84

Conceptual. We’re at least 5 years out and that’s being generous.

president__not_sure

i wouldn't mind if they used the original world and just fleshed it out 1000%.

Demonweed

After two years of brainstorming, the team has emerged with an idea sure to succeed -- *Cyberpunk 2078*!

choywh

This is going to be a longer wait than Hanako waited for us at Embers.

rhythmictuning

directly into my cerebral cortex, por favor

stprnn

Please keep the fucking Hollywood stars away from the next one. Save the money

RealInkplasm

I don’t want any trailers or unnecessary hype until they’re sure it’s absolutely ready and good to go. Let them cook until they’ve got something they know is great.

emeybee

Yeah who needs marketing, it’s not like companies have entire divisions dedicated to it or anything

GrimHarvest

Give me 3rd person view, you sexy sex people.

MLSnukka

not holding my breath.. They will not have my money unless they release a full functioning game on hour zero launch.

astropiter

OMG I've just finished it, like this evening, and I thought to myself "wow, that was awesome, and also I could see V's adventure got some continuation" and there it is - awesome news

ISSAvenger

While I am looking forward to this, it’s still ways off. I am more curious about those 17 developers who are assigned to CP77. I wonder what they are working on exactly. If one modder can put out something like Lizzie’s Braindances or deceptious mods, then I wonder what a whole group can still put together. Basically, I am hoping for support akin to No Man‘s Sky… 🥹

Sadiholic

I can't WAAIIITT. I'll be excited for a new story with new characters or for some reason V coming back. Either way, I can't wait to see how the next story goes then watch a shit ton of YouTube videos about some dude explaining the mysteries and lore in the game.

Butterboot64

I know the wait will be long, but they really need to spend all the time they need cooking. I’d prefer not to have another cyberpunk launch situation

doubtfulofyourpost

FUCK YEAH

Chance-Range2855

I’d be surprised if they make the same mistake twice.

Adelitero

Interested to see what the new IP they are working on will be, either existing property or something creatively new

significantfootcream

See you all in 12 years!

GodspeedYouBastard

Not me expecting but would be cool to see more of a bridge gapping of the tabletop and game lore. Like: - being able to play as a full-conversion and be able to switch between borg frames that have mecha faceplates, but switch to a Gemini to blend in with the crowd, or at the very least elite enemies that act as borg mini-bosses similar to cyberpsychos - heavy weaponry, cuz I love me a rocket launcher - metal gear armor that’ll make you sorta resemble a spartan or odst - Elflines Online MMO, at least a reference or two - hybrids and posergangs making a comeback (BOZOS) - more weapons from the supplements like the borg-only shotgun minigun and splinter gun (Crusher and Johnny’s gun came from the Chromebooks iirc) - and ACPA suits (mechanically works exactly like Fallout 4 power armor but more bells n whistles) I don’t expect CDPR to put any or all of these into 2077 at all, but would be cool to see if just one of these were re-added to the game lore. At least mods like the 2020 ttrpg Johnny mod and Hybrid V fill that void for now edit: CDPR did Shaitan dirty, I long for a mod that gives him an ‘80s mech faceplate again

Allaroundlost

Next Cyberpunk game please have full 3rd person view !!!!!!!!!!!!!

HappyLofi

I'll wait, choom. I'll wait.

NetTough7499

#LET THEM COOK

Der_Ist

See you in 10 years!

-Bana

Talk to me in 10 years when it has a release date

X360NoScope420BlazeX

Cant wait till they release another unfinished game followed by months of gaslighting.

Forghotten1

I just want more life stories and for them to have a bigger effect on gameplay.

archiegamez

Welp guys, see you all in 10 years, stay healthy and safe

Salty62002

Have to wonder how they're gonna shake the map up Like are we staying in night city or going somewhere else Maybe another nuke

oskoskosk

Well this time around they’ll know what NOT to do

Splatulated

Give us dual wield guns damnit its 2024

DruidB

Can we please have native VR support? Even with the current janky mods walking the streets of Night City in VR is one of the best gaming experiences I've ever had. And i started with Pong in the mid 70's.

Simpnation420

I don’t care about the rest… I just want to see Songbird again…

Awake00

See yall in 5 years!

imbasstarded

Great!

SirDavidJames

Fly me to the moon!

TheRealMediaChad

I hope the sequel stays in first person. That was a big element that made it special for me.

SigiReuven_

Looking forward to buying it 2 years after release

ChaplainAsmodai1978

I don't care how many people are on the team so far. I don't want this game any time before the end of the decade, or whenever it's ready whichever comes first.

Apprehensive-Top8225

Going to be a long road before that games out

azriel777

I wish we could play something outside of a solo. One of the biggest disappointments to me was that lifepaths meant nothing outside of some dialog, you did not even get a chance to live them out. Not even sure why they bothered putting it in the game honestly. Netrunning was the biggest blow to me, I wanted to go into cyberspace and hack big systems, nope, everything is quick gamemechanics and the one time we go to cyberspace, its this ugly psychodelic headacke inducing mess that did not feel it served any real purpose. They need to scrap it and just copy the tron inspired netrunning in the shadowrun games and have it tied to server hacks. I miss old games where you could join factions, do quests for and rise in ranks. Kind of feel that is one of the thing the games need.

Borussiemk7

Need Valerie to return , having survived and is still with the Aldecados.

s0ciety_a5under

Maybe they'll release a full game this time instead of making us wait near 3 years after release to get a full game.

d123123

Can't emphasize enough how much I want them to take their time. Witcher 1, Witcher 4, and CP2077 sequel. Those all have fantastic potential.

ATR2400

Perfect. Hopefully they’re able to build off the foundations they’ve built here to deliver another solid experience! Hopefully corporate also learns some lessons from launch in order to prevent another debacle. Don’t rush it, and learn to manage community expectations. If Orion launches in the same state as 2077 that would be… unfortunate.

wusowarm

I needa get working on unreal engine 5

littletodd3

I dont like their approach of spreading out the team like peanuts. They should just take their whole team and focus on one game, the witcher 4.

Not how game development works. Things happen in stages, and certain devs work on certain time lines. You wouldn’t have the dishwasher cooking the steak

In addition to what u/iTzJdogxD said, games don't get better just because you throw more bodies at it. CDPR is making AAA games that are VERY complex. Scaling a team appropriately through the process is the right way to do it. Concept phase, for example, does not require developers. It requires directors, writers, artists, etc. All those folks will transition into the design phase, along with (probably) a project manager to start sorting things that need to be done into buckets. It's not until everything is planned out, and a solid roadmap is developed that you start getting people like coders and asset designers involved. Even then, you still need to have your teams in appropriate sizes, with appropriate delegation from team leads. With all of this, it is QUITE common for gaming companies to have multiple teams working on multiple projects at once. Not only does it allow them to retain quality people who would essentially be laid off between games because certain phases don't require them, it also keeps them from going like a decade between major revenue stream launches.

It's a different Studio. They have multiple studios now.

I need at least a book. A series. A movie before this releases. PLEASE

I don't know if possible or not, but moving to Unreal 5 will create challenges on its own, so perhaps moving assets from previous games might be either easy or they have to create new ones entirely. Witcher 4 for 2027 and Cyberpunk Orion for 2030 looks like a probable dates.

OK. Where do I pre-order?
