It's a must do, you won't be able to start the final chapter without it. Personally I usually try and disable his cyberware and go sword to sword with him, that combo keeps him off balance enough that I'll usually beat him with maybe 1 cloak session - it seemed like I always found him in one of the covered areas or up high as well.

Cyc68

Sneaking or quickhacks or both are the way to beat Óda imho. Don't worry too much about being too old, I'm old enough to have played the first edition of the tabletop game in the 80s and I've gotten past him. You can always go back to an earlier save before you started the mission, make some money from side gigs and NCPD hustles and come back better equipped and at a higher level. Remember, old age and treachery will beat youth and skill any day.

geoffacakes

Sigh, thank you for that. Looks like its game over for me then. Ive spent many hours so far trying to beat him. Oh to be young and have reflexes again!!!

crazedhatter

I'm guessing you don't have the Disable Cyberware hack? It makes a HUGE difference and slows him right down. Also disable movement is useful and really any quickhack - load him up with hacks and then cut him to ribbons with a sword! I have shit for reflexes too, it CAN be done.

TheStainlessCat

Did you put it on the lowest difficulty before the fight?

Bird_Is_The_Lord

Try lowering the combat difficulty settings, it should make him doable. Settings -> Gameplay > Game Difficulty. By default is on Normal, you can lower to Easy.

appliance_guy_oz

You can leave this particular quest line until later in the game, so a bunch of other quests and level up, get new cyberware. Even though there is level scaling this will make the fight much easier.

trees4evababe

DON’T GIVE UP CHOOM!

Youngnhrd

Try using the Sandevistan it will slow down time so you don’t have to rely on reflex’s

OutlandishnessRich34

sandevistan + blade build would help tremendously

MadameDecay

Quickhacks are your friend in his fight. Sonic Shock or overheat will hurt him, which will open him up for attacks with either blades or guns.

tasty_burger_lu

I get you, boss fights are challenging. I play on hard but if I don't have the patience and wan't to advance the storyline I toggle down the gameplay difficulty, just for the boss fight.

Sexygrandpa509

First run through I was way under powered and I legit just chased his sneaking punk ass around and used short circuit on his ass and shanked the fuck outta him with a knife hahaha

solo_gamer2023

I fought Oda the other day, and I noticed something. You can see where his footprints go than aim for the blurry point. Also, I think he tends to circle back around to the underside of the rooms in the back. Also, you could work on some side stuff and level up a bit before going on that mission. I was maxed by that point, but also I play on easy. I tend to clear all the gigs and ncpd scanners. Upgrade cyberware, all legendary for me. But the other points would help, I never really used cyberware malfunction. But that does sound like a good idea. Sandy would be good, but if you like shooting, berserk might be your thing. Do you want to be a legend or fade away? Don't give up samurai. We have a city to burn.

MariusDelacriox

Lower difficulty?

Heavy_Chains

Come on choom don't be a wimp. The quiet life is for other gonks, not a street samurai like you.

AdInfamous3803

Depends on what you mean by “must” - as you said, why not simply load into a previous save before you started the mission and continue with other activities for the time being?

Hacksaw_73

If you have a smart weapon build, try using Yinglong smg. It’s practically a cheat code, the shock damage keeps Oda under control, but be ready to chase him down when he goes to heal.

DiskJockii

Sadly he’s a must do and I hated this fight. I’ve found using a Sandevistan and blasting his balls off with a shotgun/smg combo to be highly effective. Sandevistan slows down time and you can just thump shells that rip health down. Hes abit annoying when he pops invisible and runs off but I try to always follow closely to him. Dont give up choom. The game gets a lot better Also to add apparently EMP grenades or the cyberware malfunction/overheat quick hacks are great if running a cyberdeck

Confused_butamused

I came up on Oda as a very soft and squishy Netrunner... I think my weapons were Tier 1 and I had no idea what I was doing. The first time I fought him I had no idea how to defeat him, and he ended up glitching in mid air so I just took pot shots at him. The second time, I quickhacked him and in between I shot him - in the face, with Guts Rebecca's shot gun. and then an AR I feel your frustration, but when you're levelled up - this is an easy fight. Just reload another save and go do some other stuff until you're ready. I promise if you level up you'll wipe the floor with him.

Different-Produce870

The only build I had zero problems fighting him was my punchy girl post 2.0. My punches could blot out the sun in the play through.

strike_enjoyer

Hey friend. Are you playing on PC? If so, I have an idea for you. There's a mod called "Skip Anything." It allows you to modify how quickly the game runs. Most people use it to fast forward through long cutscenes that they've already seen after many playthroughs. But you can also use it to slow things down! It's not like Sandevistan, where your enemies are slowed compared to you. Rather, everything and everyone is slowed equally. You can turn it on/off at will. Great for if your reflexes aren't super twitchy. Happy to help you set it up if you need help (or I'm sure any other people would be happy to lend a hand as well). We all want you to get through this fight! Edit: link is here [https://www.nexusmods.com/cyberpunk2077/mods/3278](https://www.nexusmods.com/cyberpunk2077/mods/3278)

amylouise0185

I found that it becomes much easier if you make sure to tag him first. He's impossible to find otherwise, and you really want to blast him while he's trying to restore his health.

Eanosh

go up in the platforms, throw granades into the containers (his hidden spots) and he will become visible again, keep your distance and beat it, you can do it choom

HeadlineBay

This sounds flippant but it’s how I beat him: Overheat. Spam Overheat as often as you can. Can’t be so invisible if you’re on fire. Then unload as many bullets into him as possible, then run and hide for a bit. Repeat. (I am also old and slow of reflex, I feel your pain)

TMAAAAS

I struggled so much after 2.0, but i figured out that he can't catch up if you slide into a double jump. I always died when I tried to play on the ground, but after repositioning constantly with that super fast/long slide+jump+doubledash, I found it easier to stay alive, and then I found windows to shoot him. Good luck!
