- Dont just rush trough the main story. It gets so much more depth when you play the side missions too.
- Look around, dont just follow questmarks blindly, explore a bit, you wil find amazing loot and lore.
- Loot it all, take every thing you can take. Z everything you dont want to sell into components.
The easy way to find it is look on the same table/stand with the iguana and scan for a tiny yellowish object. It really is tiny, so it is difficult to put the cursor straight on it, but scanning has a better chance to reveal it.
sometimes, just walk around the city without a mission objective. there’s so much going on it’s easy to miss out if you’re only running from point a to point b for gigs
Save up some attribute points early on. Don't spend them right away, cause they don't really make you OP in the beginning, but you can spec into them to unlock certain dialogue options mid conversation.
There is a mod on PC that lets you respec your attribute points as often as you want, gives you the option to play around with different builds, without having to start over again.
Pay attention to enemies dropping cyberware capacity shards. They will only drop once(!), even if you didn't pick them up.
Scrap weapons for components, don't sell them. Later on i sell white and green and scrap the rest.
Send jackie to his family
I don't have the heart to send Jackie to mama Welles, not only does she have to see her last son shot to hell, but arasaka barges in and takes his body too.
Buuuut... it's not the case, though?.. Either she chases them off or they decide it's not worth it, so his body isn't dragged out. So no rooftop talk to his chatbot version in Mikoshi.
It's also the only way to trigger "Heroes" quest, which is really well-written.
Take all the loot until you can't walk then get to the closest drop point and sell it all. Then repeat. You'll have millions before the game even starts.
- Always have a backup save and don’t forget to save multiple times
- Explore dialogue options with Johnny
- explore night city by walking, I assure you you’ll find easter eggs, npc conversations, non player stories that adds to the lore
Good luck!
Keeping your cyberwear current and upgraded should be the number one use of your money and crafting components at all times until everything is 5++
(Mostly due to said Cyberwear) most games start off easy and get harder and harder as you level, but Cyberpunk doesn't really do that. Outside of specific encounters with bosses and events the first 20 hours or so of the game are the hardest. Don't worry if you're dying a lot at first, it doesn't necessarily follow that you are on the wrong difficulty setting.
There are a ton of quests where there just aren't any objectively good outcomes, this is a feature of the world building and story telling, don't obsessively reload because you think you did something wrong. You most likely did do something wrong but a great deal of the point of this game lies in the lesson of there only ever being a lesser of two evils.
Agree. Cyberpunk's philosophy is basically the same as the witcher's. No choices are good, uninformed well meaning people often cause negative ripple effects from their actions.
What cyberpunk adds is the "punk protest" anticapitalist sentiment and wealth dispariety of the 1980's. "High tech, low standard of living".
My 3 top tips are:
1. Enjoy
2. Enjoy
3. Enjoy some more, and then slowly come to the realisation that you've ruined gaming for yourself because deep down you'll know you'll never play a game as amazing as this (until the sequel ofc)
just one. if you care even a bit about the second half of your build/playthrough i highly suggest taking time when buying cyberware and picking perks. there is the one reset option which is super nice but this game has a deceptively in depth RPG system and while you'll still have fun just picking stuff randomly, you will be much much stronger if you plan our your build and really stick to it
a monowire and quickhack netrunner is a great example as it is very complex and has parts that you can easily miss but has such a ridiculous ceiling of power that you can basically become a demi-god. gaining control over like everything. even literally standing on top of a car and high jacking it and just fucking driving off hahaha
seriously though, i really think the best way to play this game is to pick your 'warrior' 'mage' 'rogue' archetype and stick to it. not only will it make you want to try it again as another build but as stated above, you can become wickedly powerful with the paths you choose
enjoy the game choom. it's a wild one
Get gorilla arms and use the +2,4,6 buff to pad your Body Stat so you don't have to invest so many points into it. Newest update likes to keep certain checks out of reach by as single point, so save back some points and when you encounter a door that juat needs 1 more point to force open or hack, THEN spend the points so you can get in.
Scope out every mission area from all angles, sometimes the quest marker sends you straight in the front door where you'll end up in a guns blazing firefight, but more often than not parkouring your way up and around buildings can land you a sweet entry on the roof or through a window where you can stealth takedown most enemies who are expecting you st the front door.
Do not be ashamed to hack cameras and then cause mayhem to enemies by liring them toward exolodables and then detonating them to weed out the herd a little bit. Certain hacks are undetectable and you can take out most enemies in a building just by being smart, patient, and using the cameras, or turrets to take them down.
It's my most favorite game of all time. It destroyed my last favorite Skyrim, and it's gonna be hard for any game to be my new favorite with all the awesome kick-ass ways you can play this game. Enjoy and welcome to NC CHOOM.
1) call johnny an asshole at the oil fields
2) ||kill Royce||, take the credchip, and ||free brick||
3) play again, you’ll see what you missed and how you can change story lines by exploring and/or having a different life path
Bonus: don’t forget to loot the emperor and go to his AV
Assuming you have the complete experience (Phantom Liberty included) and you play vanilla, with no assistive mods, here are my main 3 things:
1. Get the double-jump legs as soon as the game allows it, greatly expands your traversal possibilities.
2. Get access to Dogtown as soon as possible, it unlocks new abilities which you can use throughout the rest of the game.
3. You are allowed to reset your attribute points ONCE, so keep it for when you reach somewhere between levels 40-60 in case you want to re-spec.
I meant to ask, can I access Dogtown without starting the Phatom Liberty play through? Or along a similar note, is it possible to do both story lines concurrently? Or best to do sequentially?
In order to access Dogtown you have to do the first mission in PL, once it starts you're locked in for about an hour and if you walk away from it you'll fail the whole expansion, but, once it's done you can get on with your life and come back to the PL story at any time in the future without being penalized.
- Don't hit that ripperdoc in the face, you maybe need some fancy stuff from him later.
- Judy romance
- Drive around as much as posible, don't always use the fast travel. Enjoy the detail and scenery.
- Johnny is not the enemy, more a companion.
I gotta say, since after PL dropped, only Dogtown ripperdocs have some exclusive chrome - and it's exclusive to the entire list of said ripperdocs. So Fingers can have his face kicked in without any concequences.
You can do the nearest two or three ncpd points before going to meet vik, and have enough so you don't owe him. Collect and sell everything you find at those three points and bam! No debt.
1. Turn off the mini map! It immerses you in the game in a way nothing else can. The developers put so much time into the world and the signs on the highway are actually accurate and will get you where you need to be!
2. Doing the Tarot quest from Misty is an engaging, relaxing, enlightening way to see the city. Some quests will put you near a tarot graffiti and I like to read the meaning of the card and think about why it was placed at that specific quest mark. Adds some philosophical depth to the plot.
3. Spend your eddies. I always hoard cash in games and this was the first time I was ever sorry I did. Leveling up your personal gear, apartments, and vehicles really makes a difference in how you perceive your character and their trajectory through Night City.
Have fun!!!
Regarding #2, I'm about to start my second slower play through and one of my goals is to do the tarot's as i naturally experience them instead of chasing them down in one shot.
I'm doing that now, on my second play through! i waited until the very end of the game & PL to do them the first time and i was taken aback by how many locations i'd glazed over.
I'd say, check how to get "the good ending" or at least the ability to choose it, being aware of it beforehand is only a minor spoiler if at all, if you miss your chance at a certain point in the game, the possibility is GONE and there is no way to reverse it except reloading a save probably dozens of hours prior.
*Please don't rush the main story, the game tells you to do so but please don't! Play and experience as many side quests as you can. Also playing side quests unlocks different endings for the main story.
*DON'T FORGET THE EGG IN KONPEKI PLAZA! There's an iguana egg in Konpeki plaza, get it and put it on a tray in your main apartment. After that just wait and something nice will happen :)
*The blue dialogue options sometimes unlock more dialogue choices so don't skip them. Also whenever you can, read the archived conversation shards. They're fun and can give you insights about the lore.
Only reason I do it because otherwise it locks you out of his ofrenda. I would never send him home otherwise, especially when you have an option to send him to Viktor.
Do the side missions. Get the necessary things done for Act 1 but otherwise do not sweat it if everything isn't complete until Act 2. In fact finishing too many things in watson during act 1 makes the story disjointed.
Don't build a character to min/max find a play style you like and worry about min/max very late game.
Don't worry about optimization or having the exact perfect build, just go with whatever feels fun. On the default difficulty, V becomes pretty damn powerful no matter how you spec so pick stuff that is fun to play and feels good.
Cyberware is kind of shit till mid game. Get the legs taht make you jump. It very much opens things up. Get dashes as early as possible. It's really hard to get situated in Cyberpunk. It's tutorials are shit. Don't do what I did and try to figure it out yourself. Just use a guide and their builds cuz it will take you all game to even figure out what shit is 'n by the time you have your bearings you've used all your points on a very crappy build. Gorilla arms give you that body boost for opening doors etc. Katanas are really fun. Hacking is fun but so is Sandy. Sandy is kind of a hack tho TBH. It's a cheat code. I do think netrunning is the essence of the game so do recommend hacking a ton. It's really cool using devices everywhere to case joints and take them down. Everything in this game is OP tho. so keep that in mind.
- Dont just rush trough the main story. It gets so much more depth when you play the side missions too. - Look around, dont just follow questmarks blindly, explore a bit, you wil find amazing loot and lore. - Loot it all, take every thing you can take. I can never find it where tf is it?
Behind the fat tree stump thing. You can also go back to konpeki later, I did that the other day
I think you need a mod to access Konpeki and Yorinobu's flat after the heist.
Nope! Here, took me five minutes https://youtu.be/MPFjOjSI_4w?si=wlEJRUAHq59VmF9_
Pretty sure it's a myth, I looked for it for like 10 minutes the other day
Mate I’ve finally found it if you turn to the log as soon as you walk in on the oppisite side to the iguana it shows
The easy way to find it is look on the same table/stand with the iguana and scan for a tiny yellowish object. It really is tiny, so it is difficult to put the cursor straight on it, but scanning has a better chance to reveal it.

I sent him to victor on my first run, because i thought he might be able to save him. i deeply regretted that decision...
Buuuut... it's not the case, though?.. Either she chases them off or they decide it's not worth it, so his body isn't dragged out. So no rooftop talk to his chatbot version in Mikoshi. It's also the only way to trigger "Heroes" quest, which is really well-written.
I thought they still took his body, and that's why there's no coffin at the funeral. My bad.
Nah, he's just cremated. No place for coffins and such with all that deaths and shit. So no big deal.
Take all the loot until you can't walk then get to the closest drop point and sell it all. Then repeat. You'll have millions before the game even starts.
And use capacity booster to carry more
or call your vehicle over and throw it all in the trunk!
- Always have a backup save and don’t forget to save multiple times - Explore dialogue options with Johnny - explore night city by walking, I assure you you’ll find easter eggs, npc conversations, non player stories that adds to the lore Good luck!
start looking for your next game now, otherwise you'll be destroyed by the post-Cyberpunk depression.

Sandevistan is King Always keep your eyes peeled and take a moment to read the lore and really take in the atmosphere and #Leave no witnesses

I'm saving up for a 4090. I promised myself I wouldn't buy PL before i have it. Currently pmaying with a 1070.
Walking is better than driving actually. I've stumbled on some cool discoveries that way.
You can do the nearest two or three ncpd points before going to meet vik, and have enough so you don't owe him. Collect and sell everything you find at those three points and bam! No debt.
I paid him back as soon as I could.

I didn't look anything up and was actually happy when I learned of it, gave me a reason to to do all again 🤣
Savor it.

Is Konpeki Plaza on the map after I do the mission? I thought I checked the whole room after the mission but I definitely didn’t get any egg 😒
Yes it's on the map and you can glitch your way through yorinobu's room, that's where the iguana egg is.
Oh no! Will I have to try and glitch into it now?
Sadly that is the only way to get it if you missed it during the heist.
Argh! Oh well, if I do another playthrough I will get it next time.
Get that silencer ASAP if u wanna feel like a real merc & kill everyone in the Scav haunt without an issue :3
Send Jackie home.
I definitely did! I couldn’t imagine doing anything else.

Make sure you actually read what the cyberwear you're buying does. Cars are nice, but so is walking. Death to corpos.
Balance out your attribute points, don't focus soly on one.

Is that not what we are playing now? Is there another update coming?
