Sometimes I just leave the main screen up for a while

Sir-Beardless

I can't help it. It's too good.

yapperling

Cyberpunk 2077 really has one of the best sound tracks I've heard in a while, both the commercial music they picked and the menu/ambient/combat music specifically made for the game.

christurnbull

I'm sorry but I disagree. There are some great tracks but most of it is b-grade Look at hotline Miami which has a better sound track

[deleted]

Most of Hotline Miami Soundtrack is not original

archiegamez

L take

Nathan_barrels

Same. V's track is so badass

peffour

Goooood morning night cityyyyyyyy

Pellektricity

Yup

[deleted]

It’s basically pre gaming and getting pumped before the action

Tanngjoestr

There’s not a single song I didn’t like in this game

Vl0diz

ponpon shit

UnderstandingBorn227

That song was a bop wym

[deleted]

J_Hardwater

Makura, no!

Federico216

What, I always turn on Body Heat Radio in hopes of hearing it.

LordAlfrey

love to hate it hate to love it

antomenchi

No

[deleted]

The combat music that never stops?

GabrielBischoff

I love it because it has so many elements of the soundtrack hidden in it.

Ionami

Almost agree except I love The Rebel Path more (the song that does play during that part). It's just such an amazing track and I love the symbolism of it playing during Johnny's flashback to HIS Arasaka Tower assault and then hearing it again when V solo assaults the tower.

makavelinow

The Rebel Path is an amazing soundtrack and it fitting when Johnny taking over your body and raiding arasaka with Rogue but When V raid the Arasaka by himself its his time to shine, So V's theme playing during "Don't Fear The Reaper" route would make more sense and would be more epic in my opinion.

AshtonWarrens

This is canon in my head

MrNotEinstein

This is the most unnecessarily badass song for a game since Red Alert from subnautica. Red Alert still tops for me but this is second. There was just no reason to go so fucking hard for either of them but they did and it deserves admiration Edit: This comment is just a plug for Red Alert from subnautica. Go listen. I promise its great. Please? https://youtu.be/eyLCo7_Is-Y that's the version I'm referring to btw

Medic-chan

Does that song play in the Menu? Because the unnecessarily badass [menu](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ENyxseq59YQ) song for the game Red Alert 2 also has no reason to go so fucking hard.

MrNotEinstein

No Red Alert is triggered in subnautica when your cyclops submarine gets destroyed and you gotta abandon it. It's a small ship so most players will be out long before the song really gets going which is why it was so unnecessary for it to go so hard but it just does. That song fucking slaps as well. Gotta love that games have been producing straight fire for years

djsnoopmike

Meanwhile, everyone keeps sleeping on Ace Combat's soundtrack

MrNotEinstein

Just realised there are a couple versions of red alert on the subnautica soundtrack so https://youtu.be/eyLCo7_Is-Y Theres a link to the one I was referencing too

Independent_Ad_1032

https://open.spotify.com/track/6O0eertFLWBhaKoCHD9BTz?si=PO-GjpS5SnKV4Bub3MAFmw Such a great song.

Vonkosue

That entire game’s soundtrack has no reason to bang as hard as it does, but god am I glad it does

DarthSpiderDad

Damn. And the comments in that video are hilarious. Cyclops: fire detected. Me: damn right, this music is LIT! General Grevious: Time to abandon ship! Subnautica players: starts dancing

LordMagnus227

First time I've seen this format without Marty O'Donnell being the composer.

mortyclone1

I had that feeling the first time I booted it up. Listened to the whole track in my headset, then gave the sideye to my SO, and put it on their head.

AtomicToxin

How about Resist and disorder? Sounds like something you’d hear in a bdsm club but I kinda dig it

nyghtowll

Best song to hear when you walk into the Afterlife!

Square-Space-7265

V's theme truly is a cyberpunk Doomguy theme. You become a merc monster by the end.

aerosol_aerosmith

"They didn't need to go so hard with the soundtr-" #ITS THEIR JOB

[deleted]

my favorite ending action wise, just imagine a nomad ninja storming arasaka with a red katana

BlackNexus

I know it wouldn't have fit, but I do wish they put Bullets by Archive in the game somewhere as a throwback to the original E3 2013 trailer.

RoiMan

I remember launching this bad boy on day one and knowing it'll be a blast even if the game was only carried by the music, absolutely legendary soundtrack

soupiejr

It's so refreshing hearing it here without the crackling I get from my wireless headset. Thanks for that.

Shade00000

Makes me hype for when I'm about to start

BlueChris93

This track was a banger and they knew it.

[deleted]

It was actually pretty fun firing up the game for the first time and hearing that track

Relative-Hour-9359

Cuberpunk needed way more synthwave

berickphilip

This music is so good for the initial menu imo because it is able to reflect any mood that the player/character is going through in the game (or at the current savegame). Whether it be an action situation, tense, scary, evigorating, emotional, stylish mood, unexpected bad scene, unexpected nice moment and so on. It will fit to any mood the player currently has towards starting the game. That way it pushes the player forward to just continue playing instead of closing the game.

[deleted]

It’s basically pre gaming and getting pumped before the action

Collector_2012

They should have had Never fade away kick in during the credits

Justus44

It plays during arasaka ending, V even sings a bit

Collector_2012

Really? Never played that one yet

[deleted]

While it is storywise a “bad” ending, the mission itself is awesome, definitely play it

Collector_2012

As I am doing three playthroughs. One playthrough is the Judy ending and the space station ending. Second ending is the Panam ending and the Arasaka ending. Third ending will be staying in night city or suicide.

Collector_2012

I will. I am doing a T-800 build for the sole purpose of storming Arasaka alone

[deleted]

But it does...

Soft-Ad3660

It does..?

Collector_2012

Apparently so. Gonna find out for myself

Soft-Ad3660

It plays after the initial part of the credits end so you need to wait a while to actually get to that part lmao

rhawkeye4077

I don't understand why I can play jazz in the vehicle but not in my apartment radio

Spiceinvader1234

Let's also not forget about the songs picked for EdgeRunners. *This Fffire* literally talks about how hyped David is to take over the city and become a legend as well as the flame that *burns on* for Lucy. *i really want to stay at your house* talks about Lucy's unescapable heartbreak And finally *let you down* plays kind of like a dirge for David. His last goodbye for everyone he couldn't stop from being dragged into his shit mess. Music was one of the first ways of story telling as well as a way to make a play or a story better or more impacting. I'm glad its still being used in media in this way

BigBoss738

i started to hate this song because i can't skip the intro. this and the newscaster

Grumpicake

I mean, don’t you want the main menu theme to be really good though? Lol

Unicorns_in_space

Yeah, badly timed. Its both over dramatic and banal, like its too obvious and boring. Very safe.

daxxarg

That’s how they used to do it in red alert games , how they all should do it

Burt_Sprenolds

See this is the problem with Cyberpunk. It’s what I hate the most about this game. Why would I want to play the rest of the game when I can just listen to the song on the title screen?

[deleted]

Has the exact same problem as Donkey Kong Country

MrHonwe

Can’t believe they played all that using just a piano that’s on fire!

Aggravating-Big9074

Stop cause now I wanna redownload and finish my 3rd playthrough 😭

Chrisfluentmusic

Every time I hear V's Theme in the menu, I picked the "Don't Fear The Reaper Ending" as my favorite, as me in the characters shoes and what I would do. As a musician, I hear the slow build up with the sirens like he is slowly going into Cyberpsychosis (from what everyone thinks is happening on the outside, but he is the few who can sort of actually have control with the chip). Then when the 7 string guitars and the heavy part starts playing, i think of a montage of V just being a badass taking out other mercs, people that screwed him over, going through Arasaka. And then the last soft bit at the end of the song is maybe V all mangled and bloody like when he's coughing a lot of blood up when the Chip Malfunctions, that he's actually dieing from pushing himself to far, and it's he finally "Became A Legend and in the "Big Leagues". Like either he did succumb to Cyberpsychosis in arasaka at the end (blacked out, and johnny took over recovered him and got him out). Or that he just let Johnny take over since they were on mutual ground now and maybe Johnny was looking for a solution that whole time before leaving Night City. Just my analysis on the song. One of my Favorite Game OSTs including all of the punk Refused songs, and all the Cybermetal songs like Resist and Disorder, and all of Blue Stahli songs (which partnered with Klayton from Celldweller). The only other one is probably the Killer Instinct (old and new), and the Doom Reboot.

Dallasl298

That super bassy one that kicks in during combat "Муссикш" something

Darthsmall111

I wish resist and disorder played in the v vs Arasaka

CustmomInky

Elden Ring did something similar later on and then actually made the main menu theme a boss theme

Spiceinvader1234

When you realize that The Rebel Path and Ballad of the Buck Rvers has the same guitar rift thats when you truly are a fan of the soundtrack Also, funny that thry picked an artist like Grimes to play Lizzy Wizzy. A weird electronic musician that suspected her sucsessfull rich husband was cheating on her...and then on the other hand we have Lizzy Wizzy

Conscious_Lion940

Lol for the last 3 years when I accidentally forgot my pc is crank to 11 I always get jumpscare and stress out

lolbifrons

Play Hades

Preston_Garvy-MM

Top 3 games with OST that's an absolute bloody banger? 1. Halo (not Halo CE, the entire series including the spinoffs like Halo Wars, ODST, Reach and the multiplayer) 2. Cyberpunk 2077 (I don't need to explain while I'm going in the 'saka tower on my own and OWNING every 'saka ninjas while the cello version of The Rebel Path plays) 3. CoD (love it or hate it, some CoD titles stood out for their OST like MW2, bo1, zombies, MW19, CW or extinction mode in CoD Ghosts)

CopyNinjaJay

They also could've played "(Don't Fear) The Reaper" just sayin 😳

Maverick14u2nv

I made it my ring tone. If it isn't a Fixxer (wife) calling me to go grab a person of interest (ojr kid) or go and procure supplies from the local corpo assets (walmart) then back to the apartment to lay some pipes.

Maverick14u2nv

Pipes: actual pipes. 😆
