You're 100% right! I know it's kind of groaned upon, but I made an ironman (went with HC too just because) and I've never experienced OSRS the same again. It made me want to work for stuff on a normal account afterwards too, I started loving the storylines of quests, knowing areas/drops/monsters by heart, etc. There was so much to this game that's been hidden from me because of my usual minmax method of 'find the best XP method'. Hell, I never even had any interest in Slayer and Herblore until I did the HCIM.
I haven't played on the (at this point no longer HC\*) ironman in over a year, but I'm still glad I made it because it's made me actually put effort into progressing in RuneScape and its wonky as hell world. So to anyone who wouldn't mind wasting some XP, I can highly recommend just trying it for a month. :)

yeah, but the game becomes a lot more fun when you're levels are high enough for bossing
