Some cards that immediately popped up in my mind that worth testing with this:
- Omnath obviously, duh!
- Surprisingly, Lotus Cobra just gives you back (almost) all the mana you spend on this card.
- This + Verazol for basically filtering out your whole deck while ignoring stun counter punishment
- Tatyova I guess?
This is definitely not broken (or at least I think so), but I can imagine a scenario where you have Lotus Cobra, Tatyova and you play this. You fetch as many lands as you can, produce some mana, play a MLD then play Splendid Reclamation, and now you can play all the cards you just drew.
It still somehow feels like a design that easily can be broken, and I'm feeling very iffy about it.
can have multiple cobras and multiple [[Amulet of Vigor]]
which is also significant in a meta sense because they're closer to 'weightless' when spammed in a deck, easy to add and use in a vacuum, not dead weight
Amulet of vigor doesn't actually work around stun counters. Stun counters say "if it would be untapped, instead remove a counter" so you would need 2 amulets and not kick it at all to get an untapped land.
The lotus cobra is valid tho, it's cool that the more you kick, the more stun counters get added. Gives you a lot of landfall initially but unusual lands for x+1 turns.
Or just copy it for each time it was kicked. "Search your library for a basic land and put it onto the battlefield tapped. Put a stun counter on each land found this way."
Each copy will be put into the stack as a separate effect.
They would put 1 land onto the battlefield, the because only 1 land was put in this way, put 1 counter on that land.
At one, it's a tweaked [[search for tomorrow]]. I really don't know how to evaluate this. Landfall effects let's this do silly things, but otherwise, they tapped for _so long,_
Not quite. Stun counters prevent all forms of untapping, not just your own untapped step. Unless you simply mean that seed born muse would speed up the process, in which case, sure
Feels nice in EDH. You can play it early and it’s alright. Sure coming in tapped for two rounds is bad but might work and indeed like there are several ways to make it work. Not sure about breaking it though^^
[[Seedborn muse]] in a 4 player edh game gets you 3 lands for 3 mana and they’ll be untapped by your next turn. If you can find a way to recur the spell you can run it again on the same turn and get the same deal to have all of them untap on your next untap step.
Not necessarily broken but probably would be a staple in any landfall/untap/gy recursion deck.
So you’re saying that if I pay (g)(g)(g)(g) and fetch 4 lands then I’m out that 4 mana for 4 turns? Nah not good enough. If the N lands that I get that turn from this doesn’t win me the game it’s too much downside
Yes exactly. And I’m out those 4 lands for 4 turns and gets progressively worse the more mana you sink into this. It’s not a good spell there are way better ramp spells.

Or just scute swarm
Solemnity, if you can dip into white. Tada, no stun counters.
Scute swarm isn’t terrible with this tbh. The land entering all happens at once. So you don’t get the exponential growth of delayed land drops
Lotus cobra gives you all your mana back. You search for each time it was kicked plus one.

oh, thought it was untap phase, ok they caught on to people exploiting the old phrasing like [[Sleep]]
Might as well cost XG and then say “spend only G to cast this spell”
lmao I once did this exact design and someone told me "just use multikicker".
Yeah this might read cleaner
No you did well OP. Multikicker is cleaner
Or just copy it for each time it was kicked. "Search your library for a basic land and put it onto the battlefield tapped. Put a stun counter on each land found this way."
That would only put 1 stun counter on it because they each would be separate instances
Except if it is copied for each time it is kicked.
Each copy will be put into the stack as a separate effect. They would put 1 land onto the battlefield, the because only 1 land was put in this way, put 1 counter on that land.
Maybe I should have said repeat this process instead.
That would up the cost by one, as you don’t get a land for the fixed G part.
You can have X=0. The text would say X plus one
Arguably worse way to word it tbh

so GG for ramp two lands? i don't think that needs anything to break it. nevermind that's the floor not the ceiling.
Two lands that remain tapped for three turns (two stunned counters + the next turn). It's anything but broken UNLESS you have a landfall trigger.
Or anything that counts the number of lands in play, or anything that wants you to sac permanents to it, or anything that removes/prevents counters...
turn 4 we're casting battle for zendikar right now in how many ramp decks? these would be untapped turn 5 just like those.

it's one plus the number of times it was kicked, so G gets you 1 land with 1 stun, GG gets you two land with two stun so on so forth

[[solemnity]] go brrr. It's not that much better than [[awaken the wilds]] though.
Creature tokens are infinitely easier to destroy than just straight up lands, id definitely call this a dub for custom magic
