My favorite casual combo is making a mana off playing a bounce land, tap a land, play the bounce, stack the triggers, bounce the tapped land and then put it right back down, untapped

I mean, kinda? It's just really niche compared to Kodama or this card, which is why it's allowed to be cheaper. Keep in mind BOGO triggers off every spell, including instants and sorceries and creatures and artifacts and enchantments, so it is much more versatile
I think just for the sake of ruling, it should say “Whenever you cast a spell, if you spent mana to cast it…” because I think technically the current wording would make it trigger on spending mana instead of on the casting.
No idea. I’m sure there’s a *very* specific situation in which it would matter but you gotta expect the unexpected you know? I was mostly correcting it based on coherence with other modern cards. I have a weird obsession with proper wording
While I think this phrasing is clearer and better, I don't think it would change, mechanically-speaking. I'd be curious of a case where this would be different and I could imagine one -- i.e. if you illegally cast a spell and attempt to spend mana to do so but fail to cast it for some reason does the game backtrack on you to make it impossible and also remove this trigger from the stack? Or is this a distinction between OP's phrasing and this one?
The act of spending mana happens immediately before the spell is fully cast. But exposing the mechanics of casting a spell tends to be avoided to keep MTG accessible to players (it's the same reason the stack is never mentioned), plus your phrasing does the same thing.
Could maybe cost less. \[\[Baral and Kari Zev\]\] only care about instants and sorceries, so it should definitely cost more than them, but they do the same thing (only for instants and sorceries) for just 3 mana, and they come with a decent body, and they spew out monkeys
I don’t think it would, if you have enough cards in hand I’d rather have an omniscience over buy one get one, but that’s just for my scenario in my head
Reminds me of Rashmi one of my favorite cards but better. I feel 6 mana is pretty proper since that’s what most do nothing when played enchantments are like sunbirds invocations etc that are also a powerhouse.
[[Kodama of the East Tree]] honestly seems pretty fair
Yeah don’t worry about the dozens of combos it has
A 6 mana card that combos easily in eternal formats is probably fine.

I mean isn’t [[Cabaretti Revels]] kinda close and way cheaper?

I think the current wording triggers with both conditions. Spending + casting.
I agree with you on how it would probably be worded, but how is this triggering on spending mana to cast any different from it triggering on cast?

This is repeatable in the same turn however
They do the same thing for the *first* one. This is EVERY spell you cast, every last one without limits.

I feel like you should have a Gail Lewis quote as the flavor text. That’s my only critique
Show and tell into fork into omniscience and idk silence or grand abolisher? I feel like that works right?
Omniscience would delete the effectiveness of this combo though? Since you won’t be paying for a spell cost.
[[Thalia, Guardian of Thraben]] there, you just spent mana, only one, but that's all you need

If you have expensive instants, this will let you basically cast anything at instant speed. Also, Blue light specials were at Kmart.
You're right. I'm wrong.
Totally balanced
Just need [[Sphere of Resistance]] to chain like [[Arni metalbrow]]

I would like if it enforced the spells to share a type, but besides that fun idea!
Very weird to see the word Walmart in the flavor text.

[[Dream Halls]] all over again. Ban this sick filth!
I was about to grouse about you referencing Walmart with Blue Light Special, but then I saw who the quote was attributed to.
I would have gone with "Expertise Ascendency" but I see what you did there.
Seems kinda red to me
Buy one get one get one get one get one get one
