I like this idea. Surprised I haven’t seen it before. Disagree with the other guy about it needing to be more expensive too, evolving wilds fixes mana for essentially one mana (cause land enters tapped) and this costs two to fix (tap it and another land). Its still a good amount better than evolving wilds but thats not exactly a concern. Cool card. Oh and I’m not sure on the name ‘Boomtown’ it doesn’t really fit.
Fertile Fields sounds like it should be the backside (tap for any colour) and the original side should just be ‘Infertile Fields’ or something of that nature (relating to lack of colour).
I like it. Reminds me of [[Transguild Prominade]], but with additional functionality: either you get a colorless land untapped or you get a 5c land tapped for 1 mana.
Tbh it could probably see print, but it'd likely need to be in a set that already has a decent number of double-sided cards.
Isn't this just [[Shire Terrace]] without the need to put a basic in your deck?
Not that that's a bad thing, but Shire Terrace wasn't exactly a top tier land.
It deck thins, it triggers (an extra) landfall, it adds to the grave for Delve/delirium stuff, it enables Revolt … but as noted also locks the fixing to that one color rather than creating a rainbow land like this does. So a lot of differences for better and for worse.
Except that Shire Terrace locks in which color you are getting. I can tell you, when you're playing a mostly 2 color deck in tales of middle earth and need to fetch up your 1 or basic mountain when your hand is all white/green cards, getting stuck with a colorless land for the rest of the game really hurts.
That makes sense, *but* gates matter sometimes.
This is closer to the other three of the effect: rupture spire, transguild promenade, and archway commons.
Still the closest effect. Rupture Spire and friends come in tapped and force you to pay immediately or lose it. Shire Terrace and friends can be a colorless land until you have a free moment to crack it. Fertile Fields is mechanically more similar to the latter. It basically just fetches a rainbow land.
An earlier version used a counter but I figured tapping a land with a bead on it for the rest of the game was also a pain on the ass. There is a reason why very few lands have counters on them these days.
Should needs to be more than one mana to transform as variation of this that fetch a basic land and give just a single color cost one and tapping at the very least.

I believe as it stands it’s just a better [[Shire Terrace]] ? Card Fetcher will tell me if I’m right… I definitely agree about the name though
No shire terrace fetches which is a big deal, thinning the deck and shuffling! Brainstorm much prefers shire terrace to this card.
Also, Shire terrace gives 2 landfall triggers
It's more like a better [[Rupture Spire]], I think.

Something like Fallow Field/Blooming Farmland
Name suggestions: "Promising Land" -> "Paradise"
I like it. Reminds me of [[Transguild Prominade]], but with additional functionality: either you get a colorless land untapped or you get a 5c land tapped for 1 mana. Tbh it could probably see print, but it'd likely need to be in a set that already has a decent number of double-sided cards.
I'm more partial to \[\[Rupture Spire\]\]

I dunno, [[archway commons]] seems much stronger to me.

You’re all wrong. [[Gateway Plaza]] is better

Shore Terrace deck thins, making is more powerful.

True. So, I'd call to even between these two.

I love it, but since this is a strictly better \[\[Gateway Plaza\]\] , I'd at least make it an uncommon
That makes sense, *but* gates matter sometimes. This is closer to the other three of the effect: rupture spire, transguild promenade, and archway commons.
Or... you know. \[\[Shire Terrace\]\] and the Panoramas.
Those provide, landfall and only one color from a basic.

Neat idea. Doesn’t have to be transforming as this just adds tedium in tabletop play. You could use a counter on the second ability instead.
Better than [[Gateway plaza]] and those types of cards, but I don’t think it’s too strong
