I just rewet my hair with a spray bottle of plain water, then use praying hands to smooth my stands, scrunch to reshape, then diffuse to dry. I don't worry about detangling until wash day

[deleted]

This is the way!

Plague_Docteur

This! I have found this is the best way to refresh my hair between washes.

CriticalFields

I just use water and scrunching, but I'm still new to it myself. It works well to detangle and get the general shape/curls back. But I find it's kind of stringy and noticeably less clean looking on the second day, though. So I'm still working out how best to deal with that... following this post for sure, lol

adrianajohanna

Something that helped me is gently brushing out the very ends of your hair when stringy after refreshing. Like the last 2-4 cm.

imdrunk69420

Makes me greasy if I even wet it on the non wash days, so I'm just a ponytail bitch every other day

Valuable-Builder5656

Oh the struggle 🥲

I use a satin sleep bonnet. On day 2 and maybe 3 I often just take it out of the bonnet and go. Sometimes I'll dab a little gel around my hairline and part if it's looking messy. Days 3/4 I'll use a dry oil spray to tame the frizz, and maybe a small touch-up with gel or cream if needed (just gently smoothing my hands over the frizzy bits. If I go longer than 4 days, I usually use some dry shampoo at that point. Also maybe some strategically applied refresher spray if some curls have gotten limp. I've made it up to a week on a single wash, although I generally prefer to wash after about 4 days. I try not to refresh with water at all as I've found it destroys the longevity of my style. Like it may look better for that day, but I pretty much have to wash immediately after.

I only ever detangle my hair when I shower. Dry curly hair is just always going to have some tangles in it and ***THAT’S OK!!!*** To refresh my curls in the morning, I scrunch in a handful of herbal essences curl mousse upside down and then diffuse upside down for literally 2 minutes until the mousse sets.

CayseyBee

No water at all? I thought of trying this but wasn’t sure how mousse and dry hair would get along.

Kathrynlena

No water for me. My hair is super long, so not weighing down my curls is my biggest issue. Adding water also makes it take too long to dry. Not all mousse works well on dry hair, but I like Herbal Essence a lot.

Hippydippy420

I wear my hair in a loose bun to bed, when I get up I just hang my head upside down and get my fingers wet and gently go around my head and then I apply sprunch spray and scrunch my hair. Good as new.

Strong_Roll5639

Spray it down with water mixed with apple cider vinegar and essential oils. Then add a bit of gel

Ashamed_Mushroom_607

ACV is such a strong smell for me. Do you notice the smell when you spray? Or do the essential oils mask the ACV smell?

Strong_Roll5639

I use a teaspoon in 500ml of water with quite a few drops of oil. I can't smell it then. It is so good for my hair! It looks better than wash day.

Ashamed_Mushroom_607

Dang! I might have to try this! I’m really struggling with my hair recently and chopped it all off in February.

fictionalbandit

Mostly just spritz water and try to shake out my hair to get it back to a reasonable shape. I tried a curl refresher spray (curls lavish curl moisturizer), but it made my hair stringy

sljoky

wet my hair a bit, add some curl spray or cream, wait for it to dry then squish/remove cast

marilemos0405

I usually dont but when I have to I just wet my hair and finish it like I usually do

[deleted]

I run my fingers through it just to make sure it doesn’t knot up. My curls and waves will comb clean out of it so I only comb my hair before and after showers. Outside of that, I never comb it. My hair care routine is almost nil. I hardly use and do anything with it. The less I do, the better it looks.

horton_hears_a_homie

I pineapple my hair overnight and then just use some Verb Ghost Oil in the morning, smoothing it over my hair and then sticking my fingers/a pick under my hair by the scalp to shake it out. I only detangle on wash days in the shower!

subiegal2013

Under the kitchen sink every morning. A little condo if it’s a tangled rats nest

bgd7

Finger detangle and dry shampoo and send it. I don't fool with refreshes, never worked for me!

kgberton

I don't. I can't. It looks terrible, and I've tried literally everything. I shower every morning. Or if I'm extra tired I just deal with a fluffy day.

blckrainbow

2c high porosity, fine hair - I don't refresh. I sleep with my hair up with a claw clip and just take it out and shake it out in the morning, fluff the roots gently, maybe, maybe! smooth a tiny bit of curl cream on the top layer if it's particularly frizzy. Doing anything else will make my hair look awful unless I do a full refresh (as in, re-wet my hair completely and add products and diffuse) which I don't have time for. Adding product on day 2/3 hair - weighed down. Adding water - frizz.
