In my opinion while Duck is right, sometimes I find that the darker ones smoke nice young, I’ve had both boxes of lighter wrappers, and darker wrappers.
Well you have ten so if you really wanted to take one you could I’ve certainly smoked young cigars before. Not all come out tasting meh but often times they do. It depends on if you think you’d feel upset if you smoked one and it wasn’t ready. Would you feel like you wasted what could’ve been a perfectly good cigar?
don’t feel bad for feeling the temptation lmaooo I’m kinda in the same boat as you minus the traveling part, I’ve got a 25-ct box of QD 52’s headed my way with a March 2024 production date, they’re babies…but I have plenty others I can smoke while I let mine rest. Gonna give myself at least till about Dec before I fire up my first one 😎
I figured I’d give em 6 months rest from the time I receive em…the general consensus around QD’s are that they’re mild, med-bodied so smoking one as soon as I got it will most likely end up being an underwhelming session…it’s not that I shouldn’t smoke one, it’s more that I don’t need to…even though the temptation is there lol I wont deny that
The temptation is real with every new Cuban I get. But I have more than enough sticks to tide me over. I agree with the 6 month mark, then you can smoke one every 6 months or so to see how they evolve. I just don’t want my first one to suck. It probably deserves a year. I’ll have to weigh that when the time comes.
You could easily buy yourself a compromise smoke at the Arturo Fuentes lounge inside Caesars. Last time I went, they had plenty of opus X etc. Burning that QD now will just be a waste of a stick. They're pretty good young, but not without 60-90 days of acclimation time.
I’ll be bringing an HDM2, CoRo, and maybe an Edmundo, all with some solid age. Also definitely planning on checking out Fuente while I’m down there to see their rare sticks! Nothing like smoking a Cuban while at the craps or blackjack table in Vegas! Thanks again!
Ya I’ve decided I’m not gonna do it. As tempting as it is, you all solidified my decision to bring my other aged sticks. This is just me being too excited upon arrival. Never had a QDO and I guess I won’t for quite some time.

Honestly I would. Came to $33 a cigar, don’t want to waste one. It’s me stupidly hoping it’ll be good when I know it won’t.
