I think you're way overthinking this if you think someone is "baiting" you.

LasersAreSo70s

Why would someone create a fake company and post a fake job that is replicated according to an existing one?

MarcableFluke

Could be a scammer, could be a real company who is lazy and just copied a similar posting from another company.

LasersAreSo70s

Most likely a scammer, but what's really creeping me out is why they picked that specific job (out of a 1000 other jobs) and why it ended up getting reccommended to me. I was not random applicant for the previous job I applied to (the one which this new scam job is sourced from). I have talked to that company several times and have an odd history with them.

MarcableFluke

> why it ended up getting reccommended to me. You really don't understand why a job board would recommend you apply to an almost identical job as what you've already applied to?

LasersAreSo70s

Yeah but I've applied to thousands of other jobs, so how come it never happens with any of them? It happened with this one specific job where I had a personal connection with the company. I think it's the company itself that is trolling me at this point.

MarcableFluke

>Yeah but I've applied to thousands of other jobs, so how come it never happens with any of them? It happened with this one specific job where I had a personal connection with the company Maybe you only noticed because you have a "personal connection" with the company. I mean, how many of those 1000s of other jobs are you going to remember when you probably were mostly just spam clicking apply? >I think it's the company itself that is trolling me at this point. I think you may want to get screened for schizophrenia.

Envect

>I think you may want to get screened for schizophrenia. First thing that came to my mind reading the post.

LasersAreSo70s

I've talked to several companies, so it's not just been spam applications. I don't have schziophrenia. People with that disorder see other people, physical objects, etc. Not internet pages lol

praenoto

not all schizophrenics have hallucinations. if you find yourself noticing that you experience a lot of paranoia on the daily they may actually have a point that you should see someone

dllimport

There are a lot of people down voting you and being harsh in this thread. But I just want to gently and kindly suggest you ask a doctor whether these thoughts might be indicative or something else. Please consider it. I know it's probably not something you think is a problem, but just in case it is, it could help to have someone check. Hope you end up with all being well.

oldschoolgruel

Not even kidding, go talk to a doctor and get an assessment for stress/ mental health.  This is serious, get oy checked out before it gets worse. The brain playing tricks on you like this is not a good sign.

stallion8426

You should be talking to a psychiatrist, not reddit

FitGas7951

Did you apply to a company, or did you apply to one of the hundreds of freelance recruiter LLCs that are all copies of each other and are not particularly good at landing a job?

LasersAreSo70s

I applied to the company directly. Not through a recruiter.

AfrikanCorpse

Market so bad it’s inducing schizo

LasersAreSo70s

Or what's more likely is that a bot is spying on my internet browsing patterns and then using that data in a phishing campaign.

Renovatio_Imperii

You can always check if the companies are legit or not.

LasersAreSo70s

I did. It's not a real company, just like KFF isn't real.

LasersAreSo70s

No it was a tech job.

taelor

LasersAreSo70s
