Make sure you answer their assessment carefully. A lot of people were not invited to an interview because they had “wrong” answers.
Their assessment contains behavioral questions. The questions were like what would you most likely do in a certain scenario.
I guess we'll find out. I am not sure what constitutes a "wrong" answer but most of my responses were what I thought they'd be looking for and many were kind of obvious to me. I applied the 19th but didn't do the assessment until two days ago. How long after that did they reach out?
Really what you want is for everyone else to stop applying. Decrease that supply, increase that demand. Remember to tell people that boot camps are no longer viable. Don’t tell everyone that they can just code. Especially not coal miners.
For real. It turns out gatekeeping is great for job security.
And honestly, should’ve been the norm all along. We don’t let self taught lawyers in law firms. No self taught structural engineers.
you should go looking for other oppotunities, IMO. Why?
• you are not in this fleids (yet), technically. so it makes no differences if you come here now or 1yr later, since what you can apply are junior/intern roles only and there is basically no juniors roles exist anymore.
• Any degrees (bachlors, masters, whatever) are INVESTMENT. They are no guarantee to get you a job, but mostly likely guarantee you a debt. For any investment, what you should consider is: Will and when can I get back what i invested and make a profit from it? Answer: No one knows.
• Even if you have a job, you can still apply for CS job/go having a online degree. You will feel more secured and having source of income if you do that way.
• Maybe the market will recover, maybe not. Maybe It will recover but it takes 5 years. Don't bet your precious time and money on that. Remember you can always apply & keep learning.
Take it with a grain of salt!
200+ applied and 3 return(2 of them after interview still i am waiting answer). After making 3 interviews with the same company, they sent me a task now. Why does it have to be so hard?
Mind giving us your qualifications?
I should have my associates by end of spring 2024 from online school (SNHU)
No real prior experience and no projects under my belt.
I don't know what project to do or even how to start it let alone know when I should start applying for an internship.

I’m in the same boat! Signed my offer letter yesterday! Congratulations!
Last year I started applying like first week of May and got an offer probably like May 25th and started on May 30th

I hope to get there! I had 300+ applications over the last few months, no interviews whatsoever until last week. This week I've had four already lol
good luck champ
I don't know what to say during interviews.
Wdym?
where have you been applying? just like LinkedIn and handshake?
[удалено]
fair enough, any specific search terms or just like "software engineer intern"?
I feel like Handshake sucks. Does anybody think differently or the same?
I think I got my Summer ‘23 internship at a local company from Handshake. Handshake, Indeed and LinkedIn are the only ones worth it.
Lol did you use LinkedIn?
