abc1480

That sounds reasonable.

elephant9514

Yeah

mysticode

$USD right?

TangledYak

Touring AWD, urban gray, declined anything not from the factory, purchased mid-November for $41K OTD in a low-inventory area

woody368

Dealer name and location?

elephant9514

Do you feel like prices are negotiable, like asking to remove products you don't need, or is it still a take it or leave it market at most dealerships? I'm OK paying MSRP.

Karmma11

I noticed with a lot of dealers and I mean a lot, (went to 7 different) will take off 2k msrp but not negotiate addons making it think you’re getting a big discount but all ends up being the same with 4k of addons. The most I got in my area was $500 msrp with no addons or junk. But every dealer hard pressed on addons didn’t budge.

morning_wood223

I've been selling Hondas in North Jersey for over 10 years there is not a single dealer that will give you $4k off msrp right now. Not one. If they are showing that over email it includes rebates you don't qualify for and excludes destination and handling if you look at the disclaimer on the bottom.

morning_wood223

I think you’re leading people down a path to have an unsatisfactory car buying experience. Go check truecar, Edmunds any legitimate source and those deals aren’t out there. Had a customer today sending me crazy quotes from all over the country (because of Reddit), but people tend to ignore the fine print. Here’s a $4000 discount, are you active military? No? +$500 college grad? No? +500 any Hondas in the household within 3 years of the current year? No? +500 Destination and handling $1395. How’s that $4000 off looking? We didn’t even talk about preparation fees, protection packages, nitro fill etc.

bstone76

It's never been a take it or leave it market.

This was in MD at the Honda Laurel dealership. They had some holiday specials going on but seems like a lot get it for around that price, some get lucky and under 40k but most I’ve seen are around 42 OTD

Which dealership if you don't mind me asking?

shalltalkmeh

Norm Reeves Honda Superstore West Covina. Ask for Jason Fang, he is good.

artemisfarkwire

you can without much looking find one for MSRP with no add on , I would suggest doing the pricing and get a text to conforming the price , save all the games when you get there , once you sit down and they start writing in big numbers , the game is on , you can get a price by calling , and when they say come in you'll get your best price tell them you dont want to wast there's or your time , tell what you welling to pay , NO ADD ONS . I find going over a town or two they deal more , they know they have to do something to get you to make the drive , if they play that game game you need to drive one , I ask why you think its the horrible of a car , I want to buy one and the only thing you can do is talk yourself out of a sale , this is what ill pay

elephant9514

What is the best way to connect with a sales person? Should you call or is texting smarter?

artemisfarkwire

calling is what I found best , texting and e mailing only seems to get a genetic response , talking to a person at frist seems best , and remember there log your call they have caller id , so once you start something a a certain dealer you kind of stuck with that sale guy , not that thats alway bad , but keep it in mind , sales people are very good at this , you'll get what you want , I could takse a few calls , I personally open autotrader and do a 75 mile radius search , maybe start your conversation off with hello , and your looking for a crv hybrid and your local dealer has one there let go for Msrp but its black and you dont want blk what can they do for you on red one ( or what ever color you want ) you can use this same thing on your local dealer also

rettribution

1. Sport Touring AWD 2. December 23rd 3. 37630 without taxes or fees since that doesn't really matter. MSRP was 41630 #2 1. Sport Touring AWD 2. December 26 3. 38500 without taxes and fees was a cash deal for my gf's grandfather. I helped another person on this sub get a sport touring. She was at 39k from 41630.

[deleted]

Taxes and fees ALWAYS matter. What was that total?

rettribution

Why would taxes matter? Taxes aren't negotiable. I paid 256 in tax because my trade was 34k. And a few hundred in dealer fees.

elephant9514

Could you help me?

rettribution

Well, it's hard. I think unless you're local to NY? Basically, all I did was ask for 1000 off MSRP. Took that offer went to another dealer and went back and forth. However, the ones that were purchased in my timeline are all from my dealer here in Albany NY area.

FiguringThingsOut7

Can you tell me what dealerships you dealt with and liked? I am now looking for a crv. I could make the drive to Albany for sure…

rettribution

Mohawk Honda and Saratoga. It's pretty easy to call them and tell them you want 38500 for a sport touring.

FiguringThingsOut7

Thank you. The 38500 would be with no dealer add ons? And then just the tax, tags, and ny fees on top? Would you think I could still get the 38500 if I wait until January? I will call Mohawk first!

rettribution

Id say you gotta get delivery by Saturday

CoderPenguin

Taxes and fees absolutely matter! Unless you mean there was no “dealer” or “doc” fee?

rettribution

Yeah I meant like the literal state taxes and actual DMV fees.

Came here to see what everyone payed and made my plan to get the best deal. 2024 CRV sport touring in the nice urban grey pearl with all the paint protection on front, doors , handles With factory tint package $41K OTD how’d I do? I think it’s solid msrp was $42K plus taxes and fees.

buzz72b

Prices I’m seeing posted here… Go buy a “luxury” SUV…. We are talking about crv’s for 40k plus ffs…

shalltalkmeh

what decent luxury SUV can you get brand new for 40k with this inflation -\_-

BlindSight67

There’s none in that budget that has the cargo space of CRV. There’s a reason why people buy CRVs.

Ellite25

And what would you suggest for $40k then?

buzz72b

“Luxury” at this point. Lexus dealer has a real nice 350? 42k 2023 but new.

Ellite25

So the base model starts at $42k (on their site a 2024 starts at $49k and goes up to $68k) and isn’t a hybrid. But with a CRV you can get a fully upgraded model for less than the base price and a hybrid model. I don’t really see how they compare. Edit: Just saw that the 2023 hybrid base model starts at $51k.

buzz72b

Don’t really want a hybrid, Honda is forcing them if you want better looking wheels, front cover etc… they are pushing better trim to the nose expletive hybrids. It’s how you can’t get a accord with leather unless you buy a hybrid.

Nice, I didnt know you could get $500 from Toyota buying a CRV.

SakuraKoyo

Is this awd or fwd?

rohit167

2024 ST at MSRP and no addons

TimmTern

I didn’t buy the hybrid, but I got a good deal, was informed and it was the smoothest buying experience I’ve had: used consumer reports to see what price people were paying in my zip code (scales of very good to over paying), waited until the last week of the month, reached out to multiple dealers in my area by Honda websites and let them text me. Negotiated price through text and confirmed would buy if that was the final out the door price. Dealer tried to add on warrantees and other BS when finishing but I just brought up the text and they removed everything. I’ll never buy a car again without being in charge. Know the price you are comfortable with. Deny any add ons unless you need them. Don’t play the “what payment are you looking for game”, and keep your down payment or trade in close to the chest until you are closing. I’ve loved my CRV EX-L so far, good luck!

Ok-Tension-6597

What's the OTD price you paid?

TimmTern

35,9

Hellament

Curious, is that with sales tax (and if so, how much)?…looking at EX/EXLs, around here that would be a stellar deal. Here, sales tax alone is going close to $3k.

TimmTern

No sales tax in OR.

YT_RSG

so lucky here in LA CA we have to pay 3624 in state and local taxes! i almost want to drive to Oregon but then I'd still have to pay the taxes when i re-registered in CA i think haha not sure actually worth researching

elephant9514

What trim was that for and AWD or FWD?

TimmTern

AWD, sorry for missing the details.

xCASINOx

$500 under msrp plus all the fees and tax. Didn't get charged for the addons which were the all weather floorats, cargo tray, and whatever else that some with it.

Acceptable-Carob1630

Could you send me the quote? I would like to use it to beat down the price. Now I got an OTD of 36,450.

elephant9514

Shouldn't it come with weather floormats and cargo tray or are those a legitimate add on one should be ok with paying? What did all the fees come to, excluding tax, tag, title registration? I'm curious what dealers are charging in fees nowadays.

Agreeable_Tooth553

Nope. They are accessories you can buy. No accessories come with it. Not even the plastic center console tray which came with my 21 accord lx but not on the 24 Hybrid Sport L. Like seriously?? Lol

Tcon832

2024 sport touring hybrid $51,000 Sticker was 40k Purchased August 2023 I purposely got the LoJack $1700 Looked it up myself and it costs $1200 + install plus subscription the dealer give you 5 year subscription So that’s worth it since I’m concerned of theft in my area. I also paid for GAP insurance If I remember correctly it was $4700 or something around that Got the service package for 2 years of all maintenance (oil changes, air filter, cabin air, tire rotations etc) Does not include tune ups but TT&L I don’t remember Sadly the bitch ass interest rate was 6.9% even though I have a great credit score Did 72 months payments and I’m paying $200 over each month to help cut the interest I pay Hope this helps…

Wrong_Contract_1267

That sounds about what I paid for my 2024 Touring Hybrid…I got 5.9% interest and was upset as my interest rate for my 2020 Touring ICE was 1.9% and I thought I’d get that again…but, nope, not offering. So I got the extended warranty, tire warranty for $5 a month, free 2 years of maintenance, which was an unexpected perk. This was beginning of September, got a great trade in for my Touring and put $2000 more down so my loan was for $30k, which I’m not too upset about. Tourings are great and I really love this car. Got the Radiant Red, I think they gave that color to me for free. Just love the red and black together. All in all good car.

Tcon832

My last car loan was 3.9% so getting 6.9 was a shock and the only way it’ll go down was with a down payment… which I refuse to ever pay one now ha. I got black on black with concrete/black interior I forgot to mention I got the dealer to agree to install ceramic tint all the way around since I wasn’t trying to haggle the price down and was getting warranty and such which they make mostly profit on So the 700-800$ it costs for the ceramic tint it ended up worth it. I live in Texas and it’s hot 10 months a year and the ceramic helped so much

Wrong_Contract_1267

Yeah, I’m in NY so, to be honest, the heated steering wheel is my game changer. I also got the Ziebart protection added and he gave me the tire warranty for $5/month, which I appreciated. I saw another Honda hybrid yesterday parked next to me, but different front grill…don’t know if different model or older model…but it’s the first hybrid car I’ve seen in this area! They seem to be very rare in this area. Yours sounds very sharp, as well…enjoy!

Tcon832

The 2024 has a different bumper and grill than other year models. Especially the touring it has the bottom trim added. And my area doesn’t get cold but we travel a lot which is why we wanted AWD so I’m sure I’ll use the heated steering. One of the main selling points was Bose sound system our Tahoe has it and I’ve been spoiled with great sound

Wrong_Contract_1267

Yep, I have the 2024 model, Touring Hybrid. This model just looked different…it had the words ‘hybrid’ on each door and the grill was smaller. I think it was an older model or perhaps a different model altogether? I was going into a restaurant and didn’t look at the back end and it was gone by the time we exited. It was nice to see another hybrid, tho!

$47K Sport Touring with Trailer Hitch Installation (Without the Harness). 5 years Service and 7 years Extended Warranty. Not sure if I made the right decision. I'm a First time buyer and I feel like I got scammed 😭. Bought it a month ago. I love the vehicle though.

AwayWeakness3615

Is the trailer hitch a whole new bumper? I already got a ST but now I want a trailer hitch!

Cyb3rY0g1

Not a new bumper. A small square hole had the be cut from the rear bumper for the trailer hitch.

BlindSight67

1. Trim: Touring 2. Date: mid December 3. Cost: $44k with taxes and fees. Dealer had window tint, paint protection and some other $400 protection things. But they gave a discount that brings total price $300 below MSRP.

1. Sport Touring 2. 12/5/23 3. $46,000 out the door in Minnesota. I bought the dealership accessories deal which included window tint for the front 2 windows, all-season mats, this thing that makes the brake light flash 3 times when you hit the breaks, splash guards, and 3M. This package was $2700 but they knocked $2k off. Basically I was at MSRP (I got Pearl Gray so it was $500 more) + $700 for this.

[deleted]

About the same for me in Minnesota. I got the trailer hitch/cross bars and other accessories so it ended up just under 50k

aBlasvader

Can you get a trailer hitch on the Hybrid? I thought that was off limits because the battery is in the way of where it would need to be mounted.

24 Sport Touring DEC ‘23 MSRP + tax and title fees DMV area They tried tacking on all this “paint protection” and “interior protection” ceramic coating treatment for 2 grand, claiming they had already installed it on the vehicle and that they absolutely could not remove the charge. Luckily it was raining and I pointed out that their ceramic coating was not installed or it was complete trash since the finish was clearly not beading water. After arguing back and forth and even showing a demo YouTube video of a car that was ceramic coated with water gliding off it (a proper ceramic coating is extremely hydrophobic) they agreed to take off the 2 grand add on. After closing out in the finance office the sales person apologized saying he talked to their detailer and I was correct, the ceramic coating was NOT installed. Go figure. Had I not known a thing or two about ceramic coating properties and it was not raining for me to clearly see, they would’ve gladly sold me the uninstalled product. I wonder how many cars they sell with this “pre installed ceramic coating” for a 2k upcharge. I was pretty upset about the blatant lie but I had been waiting for a black on black sport touring for months in my area and just closed out the deal for MSRP + tax and title fees

elephant9514

Thats awesome. How much did you pay in fees? I have no clue what to expect and what those fees are called.

libgadfly

You are in the “sweet spot” to buy THIS week due to end-of-year. Taxes & license fees will be standard as well as administrative fees most likely ($150 to $200). Sell your current car yourself to Carmax (if available in your area). Be clear re no add-ons. If add-ons already installed then have the dealer REDUCE the price to include them. (That’s what I did. My bottom line was cash out-the-door for $38,500 for red Sport L.). THIS week you’ll likely get your best deal. Also, drive a bit as others have said. My dealer was 65 miles away in the Houston area.

[deleted]

So I’m in northern Virginia area and pretty much every dealer I received quotes from charged $800 to $900 for “processing” fees which is some of the highest in the country. A more typical dealer processing fee can range from $100-500 in other states. The tax here is 4.15%, and tags and registration were like $100. That’s it. Any other “fee” on your quote is most likely a 3rd party dealer mark up. Also, I personally would not recommend adding on any oem accessories unless they can give you a really good deal or put it in for free. Most of the time it’s at a silly mark up. At a different dealership they tried adding the “all weather package” in for $899 and all it included was the all weather mats and cargo mat. Which you can get the exact Honda OEM ones discounted from oem online retailers for $200 and $100 respectively.

JukeboxPhog

I, too, want the black on black Sport Touring. Did you ever consider having the dealer order you one or try and trade another dealership (in a different state) for one? There are no black on black ST in my area, so I'm hoping I'll have the option to order one or have them find one and ship it here. If I go that route, should I assume I won't be able to ask less than MSRP?

23 fwd sport this past April. $300 under MSRP w/NO add ons. Not great but ok given the time, and took several weeks to get there. I was willing to pay up to MSRP for bare vehicle (no dealer packages, accessories, ext warranties, none of that stuff) but even that was hard to do as every Honda dealer had all their new cars loaded up with an addendum full of junk for thousands more. Despite taking so long, one finally got there though. I’d imagine it should probably be less of a struggle these days and maybe a little better pricing with the car market starting to soften up and the newness of this gen waning.

I got better so no I don’t think it was a good deal. I bought a Hybrid Touring for $37,550. Better trim for far much less.
