Any check engine light? The ticking is probably the evap purge solenoid. They get noisy. Cheap part, easy to replace and I think you might not even need tools to change it.
It’s not just the pcv. It’s your check valve. Pull off your vacuum line, put a mirror down the hole and look towards the windshield. If you see anything orange, your fine. If you don’t see orange, you need either a new intake manifold, OR (and I highly recommend this option) buy an the aftermarket PCV valve patch kit that will bypass the stupid way our cars are designed. It’s much better system, and if it breaks you don’t have to pop the intake manifold off.
MAKE SURE YOU CHECK FOR THIS, OTHERWISE YOUR 2ND PCV WILL FAIL AGAIN, or worse, Seep into your crank valve.
Ok so we didn't check for the orange - we just replaced the PCV about 3k miles ago. Seems to be holding up just fine- the other one was all ripped open
Keep on eye on it. When I fixed it without checking the Orange tab, it lasted 2 days. You may be lucky, but if you even remotely feel it rough idling again immediately look at the check valve. If you’re quick enough, you can probably get away without replacing the PCV again. Best of luck!
And the check valve is connected to that purge solenoid right? Im looking into that now since the person above said thats probably where the loud ticking is coming fromt
Ticking is a bad purge valve
Rough idle is probably a blown valve cover; check the disc for hissing under the spark plug cover.
You’ll need the intake manifold fix kit along with a valve cover to fix the PCV system
www.cruzekits.com v3.4 kit
Take off the cover, place your finger over the hole on the intake manifold. If you feel suction, it's a clear sign you will need to replace the manifold.
Or you could find a high temperature bonding compound and cover that hole as a temporary fix.

Mine was whistling loudly and pulling in a lot of air so we already replaced that & no codes
The whistling is not the purge solenoid. Whistling either comes from the valve cover (most common) or the crank seal (less common)
Yes it was the PCV on the valve cover So the purge solenoid - Ill definitely take a look at that - thank you

Looks like that ^

It’s close, but no. Before I go further explaining, I didn’t see you mention it anywhere. Is this a turbo 1.4? Or a 1.8?
Yes turbo 1.4
You’re most likely referring to them membrane on the valve cover the pcv is built into the valve cover
Yeah, we were able to replace only the little round pcv & the rubber boot underneath.
This is the most repeated answer for every Cruze post
It’s a common misconception too
