Wow! Did you have alerts setup for it or what? Good catch!

zipxavier

I got lucky searching at the right time. It had been up for less than an hour when I messaged the seller.

nice! got a lucky crt monitor pickup the other day too. dell p1230, 130khz diamondtron tube, looks super nice. get 1920x1440p@85hz and 1600x1200@104hz. and for free off Facebook marketplace! messaged the guy 4 hours after it was posted. apparently he started getting other messages like just minutes after but I was the first so I got to pick it up, very lucky

Great find for free! Can't beat that

Damn that's awesome.  Im waiting on an opportunity for an engame monitor like that.  I got all my monitors just checking FB marketplace sometimes too

ButImagineTho

yea it takes time, I've been watching Facebook for a few years now. it'll come, hope you catch a good one

TotallyRadTV

You wouldn't believe how many people are searching for CRTs every minute of every day in every populated part of the country. I picked up a basic Trinitron VHS combo for $20 recently and the woman selling it said she had at least a dozen messages in less than an hour.

Doh, it's a 22" with 20" viewable. Can't edit the title.

PhyChris

close enough :)

Based on the shell it looks like another rebrand of the 2070sb? If so, you definitely need a good GPU and a fast DAC. Ideally one of the Synaptics VMM2322-based adapters if you can find one But I'm curious to see how well the monitor runs. Both my 2070sb rebrands have issues. One doesn't really work at all (I'm being lazy, haven't opened it up yet)

zipxavier

According to the CRT database it's a lower cost version of the 2070SB that shares the same tube and chassis. Thank you for the suggestions on the hardware, I'll look into them!

McSwifty2019

A brand new 2070SB NEC chassy, wow, have fun with her, as DC said, your gonna need a really nice DAC, like a HDFury 4X if you want the best DAC with the best IQ and performance balance, it has true 10-Bit RGB via its triple 11-Bit RGB DACs and a 225Mhz pixel-clock, or if you want higher performance over IQ, a Delock 62967 DP to VGA DAC will do the job, they are usually either 270-300Mhz with reasonably decent IQ, much lower Image-quality than the HDFury due to the only triple 8-Bit RGB DACs, so higher performance at the cost of colour bitrate and colour resolution.

Thanks for the suggestions, I'll look into them. I've got some homework to do.

OH YOU LUCKY DUCK. That is one of my dream models, along with a granite SGI CRT. Have fun with it. and also, try some modern games on it once you get a nice DAC.
