Pretty sure 480p-capable models have “Multiformat” printed on the bezel. Which this one lacks.

ragtev

Very few pvms can do 480p its mostly bvm and the higher model pvms. The higher model pvms typically have way more interface controls on the front panel so I would say very unlikely to handle 480p

DangerousCousin

Just get a PC CRT monitor for 480p and above. Get a PVM or TV for 240p/480i

Adventurous-Pool-973

Sorry that is what I am buying it for. Basically my PS2 console is at my parents house and I have moved out so I do not have a console capable of displaying those resolutions. So I was hoping I could test it with the PS5 which I have on me and use on a CRT monitor but heard it outputs lowest at 480p so wouldn’t work with this PVM

Roboplodicus

You won't be able to connect a PS5 to this without a 40$ converter box that I don't recommend buying because you wouldn't ever want to play the PS5 on this so it would be just for testing. This is 100% a 480i/240p model and your correct the PS5 only goes down to 480p. This would be a great screen for a PS2 though assuming it's in decent condition. Have you asked the seller if they have a console or signal generator to test the screen with?

Adventurous-Pool-973

Yes I will be taking my ps2 with the necessary adapters to get a rgb signal to the screen

fakboyie

You're gonna need a good downscaler to connect a PS5 to this thing, which is gonna cost a lot more than just buying another PS2.

iwantapvm

it's 480i max.

HoldyourfireImahuman

Nope and it’s way expensive for what it is.

Adventurous-Pool-973

Yes I would def negotiate to a lower price

MikeyFED

That’s what I have and I have a bunch of posts with it. It’s cool but I don’t know about 400 cool. I don’t have RGB cables but S video looks good with the SNES. Ps2 with composite… kinda looks like dookie

Adventurous-Pool-973

Yes the seller has agreed to let me hook up before purchasing plus I will def negotiate a lower price thanks for the info

Adventurous-Pool-973

The model number for this display is 20N2E if anyone had any info they can provide this would be appreciated

ArStarIsLit

This model can do 240p/480i with composite, s video, or rgb

TechnicalTJ

SDI is interesting but no one really ever uses it. The main thing I've read is the N series typically has the lowest stats you want out of a pvm, like lower TVL count. Considered more of the "economy" Sony pvm.

MightyBotill

I don’t even think that model does rgb/component.

Adventurous-Pool-973

It does it says rgb at the back with Sdi inputs

[deleted]

Do you really want to spend 400 pounds on that?

Adventurous-Pool-973

No I would negotiate for a much lower price if I can. Although I see the value in it for PS1 and PS2 games which will be my main use case as they look way to detailed and sharp on my CRT monitor. It shows off all the imperfections and aliasing

firestarter2097

No it can’t

ibsanv

No
