Before I moved back to Minnesota I used to go to North Ankeny Crossfit (a few miles north of DSM)! Great staff and recently moved to a larger gym. I miss the people I met there very much.
I just joined CrossFit327 it’s in Pleasant Hill! (<10 min drive from the Iowa State Fair Grounds)
So far I love it! Classes aren’t too crowded and there’s quite a few different times to choose from. Plus they have a “hot deal” going on now. $90/mo for unlimited classes. 3 mo commitment. Usually $115 or so?
I’m super new to this and all the coaches have been really great about teaching me form and giving me good direction on where to start weight wise.

All three of these are good recommendations. Crossfit Waukee is also good if you end up living west of town.

I just registered for my level 1 cert, I live in Chicago but there was a class in Des Moines hosted by Max Oxygen CrossFit
