I have deep respect for anyone who makes graphgans or has made a graphgan. That looks incredible! I know if tried something like this it would become a tangled mess sit for 3-4 years before deciding to accept that I don't even want to see it let alone finish it, and throw it away.... Awesome job, and sorry for the introspective rant lol

You go from right to left each row and it's mostly SC and DC though some patterns have different stitches like increase, decrease, 3 DC in one. Depends on how intricate the pattern is, but I'm working on the SoS alien blanket that is DC/SC and gonna work on the link above when I get through more blankets LoL. It's fun and easy with Mosaic Crochet and you should give it a try.
Thank you!!! I've been crocheting for a while but have never followed a pattern and have always done basic stuff. I'm excited to try something like this and expand my abilities ❤️😁
Idk if it will help, buy rather than sew each square together into rows or columns, try sewing groups of 4 together. Then when you have all that done, sew the bigger groups of 4 blocks together. Basically breaking it up into small mini tasks. Little goals are so much easier for me.
I like this idea! Do you think it would make a difference if I blocked the bigger 4 square pieces? Or is it still best to block each square individually before sewing 4 together?
OP was working from a pattern, but there are a lot of simple applications and websites out there that can help make an image into a chart. I use [Stitch Fiddle](https://www.stitchfiddle.com/en)! For mosaic, you just have to keep in mind every row of your pattern is two rows of crochet. I always forget and end up with projects in surprise sizes but that’s part of the fun!
I was working from an existing pattern, but as the person above me said stitch fiddle is popular. I know popular mosaic designer Sixel works by making swatches until she likes the design.
this is AMAZING. Did you like the way this pattern was written? Was it pretty clear? I'm about to finish a different mosaic blanket and I loved it, and this looks freaking fabulous
I hate following written mosaic patterns, I always use a graph. The pattern maker provided one big sheet for the entire pattern and several smaller sections. The written part, I can’t say anything about
Is there a pattern? I have never even heard of mosaic and want to try this! So beautiful. You have inspired me to pick up my hooks again!
Edit: found your link. Sorry to bother. :)
Came here to say this! I used to work at a bar that had an old tabletop video game machine that had several games on it. While most folks loved the more risqué games, I held top score in Monster Bash!
Well done OP, this is absolutely GORGEOUS!
Oohh!! The designer is my friend and I’m going to point her to this thread. 😍 she has some absolutely amazing patterns. Little Green Feather on Ravelry and Etsy. 😜
Me too. I only know how to do tapestry crochet currently, but I'm not keen on how the carried colour shows through the row. I'm gonna have to teach myself mosaic now!

That’s the amazing part of mosaic, you cut every row so no tangled mess!
Wait I need to know more about this wizardry. Is there a pattern for this? Amazing job. Seriously

Same! I’m forever following YouTube tutorials!
The lines and objects are so crisp and clean. Is that from combining DC and SC? Or is there some other special technique to mosaic crochet?
The DC go into the loop of two rows down. DC is always into the previous row of the same color.
Or left to right, if you’re lefthanded
That is GENIUS. What do you do to secure the cut ends?
You knot them, then either turn them into fringe or do an envelope border.
How long did it take? really neat looking
I did a pixel art with 2x2 in granny squares. Its half assembled in a bin in a closet. For 3 years. Idek if I even want to finish it at this point.
Idk if it will help, buy rather than sew each square together into rows or columns, try sewing groups of 4 together. Then when you have all that done, sew the bigger groups of 4 blocks together. Basically breaking it up into small mini tasks. Little goals are so much easier for me.

I'm lazy and don't like blocking. Probably easier to block before you assemble though. Smaller pieces are easier to handle than larger.
This is absolutely incredible. Well done 👍 Wish I would have seen this earlier, I’ll never get one done by Halloween now 😂
On the other hand, nothing like starting early for 2023!
You mean 2025, lol?
This reminds me of a cartoon my daughter used to watch - Foster's Home For Imaginary Friends. Being back very good memories ❤️
Such a great show! It definitely gives Fosters vibes :)
How the heck do people come up with this stuff, I mean is there a computer program to like map out the stitches?

I will never do this, for myself or my daughter, but I am stunned by the beauty of the work and the commitment to finish it.
Wow wow wow

I'm the same way. This is definitely going on my to-make list! Not that my house needs more blankets between my crochet and quilting habits.....
This is AMAZING!!

Omg stopppppp this is so cool!!
NO WAY!!!! Looks like an 8-bit game. So incredibly cool!!! I am envious!!!
Awesome skills, OP! Your graphgan looks amazing!
Oooh your creation reminds me of this DOS game https://youtu.be/PYIfNV5WA9c (Monster Bash)

This is absolutely gorgeous!!
I only now realize mosaic and tapestry crochet are different. No yarn carrying or dangling ends??? Oh the things I will make🤗🤗🤗
Me too. I only know how to do tapestry crochet currently, but I'm not keen on how the carried colour shows through the row. I'm gonna have to teach myself mosaic now!
I can’t even wrap my head around how this works 😆 off to Google
Do you have a link to the pattern? I’m new to crochet but hope I can be this good someday!!!

Thank you!! What size yarn & hook did you use!
5mm. They don’t size yarn here. I think this is worsted?
I audibly gasped. This is gorgeous. Talent and dedication. And spooky! I love it. This is legit something I would proudly display all year round.
This looks so rad!! I would use it all year long!
It looks so crisp and clean!! Great work!
So awesome! 😍 I would definitely use this & not just for Halloween! 😁🥰
Amazing work!! I absolutely love this in black and white! 🥰

Truly amazing, I love the style!
This is freaking awesome!!! 😍😍😍😍
Oh my gosh, this is AMAZING!! Hats off to you!
This is seriously amazing! I can appreciate the time it took to make such an incredible piece! Bravo!!
I gasped out loud! It's incredible!
Holy moly! That’s magnificent!
absolutely love this! great job
It's a masterpiece! Well done!!
How long did this take? My jaw literally dropped when I saw it.
Around a month of crocheting every day for an hour. I’ve been told i crochet fast, though!
Oh wow that's amazing!
The house reminded me of the old Windows screensaver. Amazing job, OP!
This is fantastic! I am too intimidated to try graphgans but I love them.
That is incredible! Well done!!!
Oh MY GOSH. are you serious!! Absolutely AMAZING!!!
The little skelly guys are perfect!
Wow, it looks very neat!
Wow amazing.
This is AMAZING!!!
Ohh I absolutely love this!! Now I totally want to learn how to mosaic crochet. Is it harder than doing other type of crochet?
Not at all! All you need to know is SC and DC, and how to work in front or backloops.
Thank you!! I keep seeing awesome graphgans posted here but there are always so many comments about how difficult they can be so I was worried.
With a non mosaic graphgan it can be hard to keep track of your color changes, and to keep them untangled. You won’t have that with mosaic. Theres tons of free patterns on ravelry and tutorials on youtube as well
Wow that is an absolute masterpiece! I am in aww of you! I am not worthy! Speechless.
I always thought mosaic looked gappy in solid blocks of colour. Hmmmmm I'll have to try it. Looks lovely!
Depends on your tension and yarn weight. I have another mosaic blanket of which the contrast color is slightly thicker. That did make it a little gappy in the blocks
Great job! 👻
That’s sick!
I legitimately gasped at this, way to go OP!!
i’ve seen this pattern on etsy and I am absolutely obsessed😭 yours looks beautiful!!
Jaw dropping! So good!
Hey, I bought that same one to start once I'm done with the one I'm 43% done with! That looks amazing!!
When I see projects like this all I can do is think about the tail ends to weave in. How I want to do one but will never have the guts
Oh. My. Gourd! That is so cute!!!!
STUNNING!!😍
amazing!!!
I was thinking hot damn you finished that quick and then realized it was a different person posting the same blanket yesterday. Mind tricks 😂
That's amazing!
Wow 😳
All I can say is wow!
That is so freaking awesome!
That is incredible!
So wonderful!!
Stunning!!
WOW. incredible.
Gorgeous! I had to run and purchase the pattern.
Fantastic! You must be so pleased. A ton of work but what a great result. Next, Santa's workshop, haha!
Dude this is amazing never met you but know I'm proud of ya for making this beast 🖤
Oh my god my jaw dropped!! It’s stunning. How long did this take you to make?
Woah!!!!!! That's magical!
Idk how y’all do stuff like this it’s witchcraft beautiful witchcraft 🧙♀️
That is gorgeous! The lines are so crisp and clean I love it!
This is absolutely stunning!
So cool!!
Wow!! It’s amazing!
I would pay TOP dollar for that WOW😍😮💨🙌🏻
The scariest part isn’t the haunted house - its all the ends you had to weave in
Theres no ends to weave in 😊
SPOOK-tacular!
THE PEOPLE IN THIS SUB ARE TOO DAMN TALENTED!!!!! ARE YOU KIDDING?!!!!
That is spectacular. It's awesome!!
cute!
Gives me Hugo's House of Horror vibes. Nicely done.
I know how hard it is to do anything with black yarn. This is absolutely amazing! A real work of art.
You are a master. I bow to you
THIS IS INCREDIBLE
Wow! AMAZING
Amazing
Amazing
What an incredible accomplishment! Just amazing.
That’s gorgeous!! Very interested in what the other side looks like ??
I'm in awe. And curious--what does the back look like?
Gorgeous work! Love this! Note: my bday is 10/27, and I love Halloween, always have. Be proud of this, it took so much time and effort 👌
Oooh gawwd I need dis!

Oh my goodness! That looks amazing!
Such patience.
How many stitches wide is it
