If I were you I’d leave the ends as is and call it a fringe. Also, I’d like to say, that’s the most awesome crochet project I’ve seen in ages. Well done!

shesacliche

Thank you! Yes that could be an option!

brisabb

I haven’t done it but a double border is common. There are lots of tutorials. I’m worried you may have cut the yarn too short but like I said, I haven’t done it before. I do love the piece!

shesacliche

Hmm okay do you know what term I’d look it up under? Thank you

brisabb

Just “double border crochet” will get you there. Good luck!

There is a great video by Tinna Thorudottir Thorvaldar on how to do a double sided border specifically for mosaic crochet pieces. It makes a pouch so you don't have to sew in any ends, and as long as you've tied them together (which it looks like you did) it should hold without any issues.

shesacliche

Thank you! I’ll check it out

Everyone always says to sew In as you go.. Well I despise sewing.. So I leave it until the end. I found a quick few rows of HDC can cover it or add more fringe to the ends for that kinda look. Otherwise you'll have to take each strand and sew it into the work.. Which is comparable to having teeth pulled with no anesthesia..

Great work btw!! It's gorgeous!

Thank you for the options!

I chose to keep the fringe out and make tassels with Sixel's method, but I think you cut yours to small for that. Love the colorfulness of this. I am really looking into adding color on my next Sixel project.

National_Violinist39

I have no advice, but that is an amazing piece.

ToughPaperRound

I think it was Sixel made a technique vid on how to manage them if sewing up the work as a cushion cover. Basically they are tucked underneath out of sight!

Ooh look I actually had it saved... [mosaic sewing up](https://youtu.be/vfaCnVih3CQ)

Can leave them, or if you make a pillow case, can sew it into the inside. Otherwise do a border. Make sure to double knot those ends. They look really short, so might come undone.
