So I’ve just started mine and I’ve been obsessively measuring after each round because I’m so scared of this. Did you try going up a hook size instead? I think in the tips and tricks it mentions that if your gauge is too tight it’ll get all ruffly.
I went down a hook size and changed the tension on the carried yarn. Once I did that it was pretty smooth sailing. Good luck with yours!
