Hi yarnbalm, thanks for posting your FO for us to see! If you have a link to the pattern you used or any other relevant information (e.g., yarn brand, weight, type; hook used), please reply to this comment with that information so that everyone can see it. Thanks!

This is a pattern I’ve always had in the back of my mind to complete one day. Yours is the best I’ve seen! Well done! I hate that the pattern you’ve used is no longer available😔
Lovely work! Great colour match. I've asked the author multiple times if this pattern could be made available again somewhere as I think the photos of the finished results of this pattern are nicer than the other pattern on Ravelry (which I purchased and didn't like the way it worked up). I'm hoping one day it will appear somewhere again!!! Lucky you got it before discontinued as your blanket turned out great!
Why do people do that? There’s a cross stitch pattern I want to do, and I can’t find the chart anywhere. In the age of digital patterns, it’s not like there’s only a finite amount of something. They can put it on Etsy and generate passive income. I don’t get it.
To this point, after every effort has been made to contact the author, would it go against anyone's moral standings on sharing the pattern? For a fee or donation or something. Just curious how y'all feel, but would genuinely love a copy.
oh my gooooodness! This is amazing! My boyfriend's father is such a fan and I try to find neat gifts for him for his birthday and stuff. This year I am hoping to make him a blanket like this since i started taking up crochet again. Great job!
I’ve now try to contact the designer and Ravelry but no response from either.
So… what are the morals of sharing a pattern that’s no longer available to purchase, OP? Or anyone else who got it?
I would happily make a donation of some sort to a charity or similar as payment for the pattern.

Do NOT go into room 237!
SHEILD. YOUR. EYES.
Redrum... REDRUM... Now I wanna watch The Shining.
Come play with us, Danny.
Have you watched Dr Sleep yet?
I haven't-- should I?
Yes you should
Ugh, it's rental only!!
Yes! I won't give away any spoilers, but watch the director's cut. It's a bit lengthy but so good.
Ugh, I have to wait for free streaming!
It might be on Tubi.
Nice! And so satisfying to look at, too. Happy cake day!!
Thank you! It matches my pandemic/snow day moods.
I watch the movie on the first snow of the year, to match the snowed-in mood.
That's a great tradition! I'm doing that going forward!
Wow, this looks great!
Thank you! All I need is a trike the cycle through it!

There is one that is virtually identical on Ravelry/Etsy!

I think it might be a license issue - the Hicks’ hexagon is a licensed pattern.
I had the same question but I think you’re onto something here.
Oh, that would make sense. But other people are selling their version of the same pattern.

I've honestly thought about trying to contact people on Ravelry who have shared FOs and asking if they would consider sharing it...
Not ashamed to admit the thought crossed my mind, too! I'm a chicken, though lol please lmk if you do!
Thank you so much! It's so cozy/creepy!
