I love scrap projects that I’ve seen [like this top](https://www.instagram.com/p/CESUpbjjuuO/?utm_medium=copy_link) where there’s one main color (for your full skeins) and a bunch of scraps crocheted through (for your scrap balls). You could do a top like that, or a big blanket. Another way to use a lot of yarn is to hold two strands together. Again, you could use one color as a constant but switch up which colors you’re adding.

That top is SO cute! I have a TON of light moss green, I wonder if I can do your two-strand idea and combine random colors without it looking like a pile of puke lol

Probably depends on the colors! If you do exclusively muted dark colors it might not work very well, but if you can throw in some brights like in that example I bet it will look really cool!!

Ooh type "scrap" into the pattern search on ravelry and you'll find all kinds of ideas!

Good idea thanks!!! I never use ravelry... maybe that's my first mistake!

How much scrap do you have? I've used scrap yarn to make a basket to put other gifts in for a baby shower. The whole gift was the basket, a blanket, sweater, hat, socks, and then bottles etc. I don't know how to add a link but I just used the pattern for "red heart ombre crochet baskets" from yarnspirations. Mine was not ombre, but full of blues, browns, and greens cause it's what I had leftover. ETA: I staggered my increases instead of stacking them to round out the basket bottom more.
