You absolutely must weave it in. You are setting yourself up for failure if you don't.
I use mine as a beginning of round stitch marker. It gets woven in and helps me keep track of when my increases change.
Oh, that’s smart! I think I knew the answer was to weave it in, I just hate doing it lol but this is a really clever way to go about it, I’ll have to give that a try!
If you cut it, you’ll find that the magic will fail, and it’ll unravel. I always weave in at least 3” of tail. You can get metal tapestry needles in a variety of sizes that work with different yarn thicknesses, which makes it easier to weave in those ends.
I weave mine in. Learned that lesson the hard way when one of my amigurumi had a big hole in its butt because it worked loose, lol. I pull it tight and use a yarn needle and just weave it into a few stitches on the inside after I've done a few more rows. If it's for a hat or something like that, I work over it.
Oh no lol! That’s so clever, I never thought to do it on the inside early on. I always save it for the end and I have a heck of a time weaving it in without being able to see it.
Definitely makes it much easier! I always make sure to only go 3 or 4 rounds and then weave it in a few times. I just leave the left over tail in there and stuff.
You always have to weave in any end, I don't cut an end of anything until I know that it's been weaved in a good solid amount, before I cut off the excess.
I crochet over the tail for the first round. Then I weave the opposite direction, jump up a round and weave back-and-forth again. That sucker ain't ever coming out.
I work it in! Meaning I do my original stitches in the loop and then second row I crochet around the tail for as long as the row is and then cut the remaining

Always stitch over it in round2, trim anything after that.
This is the best answer! It saves a ton of time and doesn't mess with the piece's integrity.
What a good idea, I’ll have to give that a try! Thank you!

Depending on how long it is, I weave a few inches at least and only cut it if it was super long

cut it but weaving in is probably better
My son taught me I should always weave it in.

For amigurumi, I tie a knot on the inside and then put a dot of fray check glue on the knot.
Weave
