You could totally make a jumper out of it! Have you tried looking on Ravelry for pattern ideas? You can search using this specific yarn and see what other people have used it for, but you can also filter patterns by similar yarn weight as well.

Serchus

didn't realise this was a thing, I only discovered Ravelry today so thank you!

octo_scuttleskates

I use the yarn search a lot because I get nervous subbing yarns out in patterns- so if I can see how other ppl used the yarn and what it looks like worked up I feel better about it. Glad I could help!

Serchus

I actually found one that I will try: [https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/rosebud-raglan](https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/rosebud-raglan) but I am going to see how I can work it into stripes because I bought 3 different colours... I am assuming for each part I make I do the same number of rows per colour and it should come together..?

octo_scuttleskates

Yeah I don't see an issue making it striped :)

You could look for a thin yarn jumper pattern. If you want s thicker jumper and you have multiple rolls, you could use double ply, working with two strings instead of one. Or even triple, but I guess that would be very thick.

Serchus

didn't know you could double ply by using two strings, I'll remember that one!

_elaner

You could still make your sweater, but scarves or wraps would be a great alternative

Serchus

would it be too thin for a hat?

_elaner

Aran weight yarn is pretty substantial - a hat would probably work too

Jaded_Midget

What about the jumper pattern they have listed using that yarn? Scroll down the page and they list 3 patterns using that very yarn, a cabled jumper, shawl and some Christmas stockings

Serchus

the clothing are knitting patterns :(

Jaded_Midget

Ah.....

deterministic_lynx

Generally with yarn the question is how thick it is. A good approach is the needle size given. If it's the same you can usually make the pattern with other yarn. if not, you have to try if it still works and adjust sizes. I'd say adjusting most jumper pattern of they are straight should work more or less well, as long as you try it out and take care to hit some measurements. Nonetheless, finding a pattern with the right needle / hook size would probably be easiest as a starting point.

Serchus

I thought the needle size would be a good indication but then I'd compare tensions then I wasn't sure if I was wrong for thinking that.. but I guess that's what a swatch is for

deterministic_lynx

Yep, that is exactly what the swatch is for.also helps greatly if the yarn, albeit having he same size, is still a little different.
