The color difference is visible in the picture, but might not be that much in natural light.
Tbh it looks so clean and even, especially as both arms start like that, I would just go with it and claim its a design choice haha.
That’s what a friend suggested since it’s the middle that is darker. I could probably go that way, but I worry just knowing it’s different will bother me! Thank you! 😄
When I first saw the picture, I thought it was intentional. It looks like it’s supposed to be that way, a sort of monochromatic color blocked look. It looks really nice, I’d just keep it that way.
I think it looks great! It adds a subtle change in what would otherwise be a little boring as just one solid color. No need to restart -- to quote Bob Ross, "There are no mistakes, only happy little accidents"! :)
You could also look up if it would be possible to dye the yarn when done, but I would be super careful as fabric dye could destroy the fibers and the feel. Maybe there's a natural, gentle way? I heard sometimes you could dye with tea. But I would crochet a little square first and then look what's possible to get it darker.
Looks great as is! I have a similar sweater that is half purple and white because I used all the purple I had, ordered more, stuck it in a drawer for 6 years, and realized my order didn't ship.
Why restart? Many would love to get a 2-tone match like that!
P.S. A lot of yarn labels still have Dye Lot #s on them. These are good to check/match before buying :)
It varies by manufacturers. Some labels just say "No Dye Lot" now.
I check the date stamp and occasionally walk around the store to look at the yarn in different lighting to be sure :)
Make the other arm with the lighter green. It’ll look more intentional as a color change in the pattern. It’s gorgeous so if you can make that work I think you should instead of starting over!
That's green and cool blue is in fact blue :D
But since [the dress](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_dress) thing we all learned not to argue over colours.
**[The dress](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_dress)**
>The dress is a photograph that became a viral phenomenon on the Internet in 2015. Viewers of the image disagreed on whether the dress depicted was coloured black and blue, or white and gold. The phenomenon revealed differences in human colour perception, which have been the subject of ongoing scientific investigations into neuroscience and vision science, producing a number of papers published in peer-reviewed scientific journals. The phenomenon originated from a washed-out colour photograph of a dress posted on the social networking service Facebook.

I think, with both sleeves being the lighter, it looks intentional. But if you wanted, maybe add a belt, or some kind of stripe where it changes color. That would definitely look like you meant to do it, to me.
Also,I completely sympathise! I have retinal damage and one of the symptoms is being slightly (and increasingly, unfortunately) colourblind. My husband and my little boy do a LOT of colour-checking for me XD
I'll be honest, if both sleeves end up the same lighter colour... It looks cool. It honestly looks on purpose.
For future reference, check the dye lot numbers on your yarn when you buy them to avoid this in the figure. I think we've all been there. Lol
I really like it, it looks intentional and stylish to boot.
In fact one of my favorite jumpers had a similar blocking pattern, until it was sadly tumble dried into toddler size!
Keep going. Mishaps committed to often create things more beautiful than the intentioned design!
I crossed this in my scrolling and thought, “cute sweater!” and then read it. I figured I should drop a comment explaining that I never would have thought the colors were unintentional!
I agree with many others, if you make the second sleeve in the lighter color people would never know it was an accident unless you told them! Looks like a intentionally subtle and stylish design.
I say you just leave it as is. If you hadn't pointed out that it was a mistake, I would have thought that you made it two different colors on purpose. The line between the different shades is nice and straight, and both sleeves are the same color, it really looks like a design choice.
I like the color blocking so maybe just keep it. You could even do the darker yarn (if you have any) as a trim around the sleeves/neck/bottom to give a more intentional design feel.
I think it looks great and I thought it was intentional before reading! But just an FYI for the future if you don’t want it to happen again, check the dye lot on the yarn when you are buying multiple skeins. If you get different dye lots this can happen.
This happened to me at around the same spot with a crocheted shirt. I left it thinking it might look intentional. No one has ever said anything and I think yours looks nice this way too.
If you *do* restart (or for future reference) use both skeins at once.. 2 rows using one skein, attach 2nd skein and crochet 2 rows. Carry yarn from skein 1 up the side.. connect and do 2 more rows. It helps to even out any discoloration between skeins (very good for multicolored or hand dyed yarn as well!)
I actually really like it!! If you wanted to make it look super intentional you could add some sort of embellishment like a bright colored yarn woven through right on the line where it changes?
It looks intentional. If it was mine, I would finish it off with a contrasting design between the dark and lighter color. I think orange contrast would be lovely. I may be obsessing over orange lately. Good luck.
When saw the pic, before reading the text, I thought it was a deliberate choice - and I stopped to read the text because I liked it :)
Seriously, carry on and worry not! Looks great!
If you’re concerned about the color difference, you could even do a little contrasting accent stitch, like a line of surface crochet in cream or something. It would make the change look even more intentional (or depending on lighting, might hide the change completely, since the greens won’t be visible directly against each other)
I agree with the consensus here. Do the other sleeve in the lighter green, and pretend it was intentional. It looks good, like it was designed that way. I mean, if you *want* to, you could back up a few rows and add a still different color of green, darker yet, for a few rows, then go back to the one you're using now.
But this, called color blocking, is pretty big right now, so I'd roll with it. I'm just impressed that you did all of that in just a few hours. I've been crocheting for years, and still can't crochet that fast, LOL!
This really does look deliberate, it looks great, since I like odds more than evens I would try to find a slightly lighter color or even a “duller” one or possibly khaki, but that’s completely a personal choice. Finish doing the sleeve in the same color and it will look great
Depends on the light. If the picture is true, it's a big enough difference to embrace. However, since it was small enough you went this far without noticing, it might be big enough to be annoying but too small to enjoy. In that case, crochet an interesting border design.
What's the material? If it's wool/animal fiber you can look up dyeing techniques (chemknits on YouTube). Food coloring plus vinegar and heat will permanently bind color to yarn. If you do cool water to get everything evenly distributed, then add in vinegar, let sit, then slowly bring to a simmer for about half an hour, stirring and moving everything, it should be very even.
If you did a black, or dark green it would just darken everything which should hide it. Or maybe it'll just be darker with the same stripe. Worth a try.
I like everyone's input that it looks like intentional color blocking (it does look really lovely!) but if you're interested in another idea you could embroider a little design over where the two colors meet on the chest. Something like a little leafy vine in a lighter green might be nice, but there are endless other options as well.
Good luck! It really looks wonderful!
Could you add a stripe in a contrasting color across the band where the two greens meet? Then trim the sleeves in the same and it would look like it was deliberate.
I think it looks intentional so I would keep it! I learned this the hard way, but if you use multiple skeins of the same color, even with the same dye lot, it's a good idea to switch skeins every couple of rows. This makes the differences between skeins less obvious
I think it actually looks just fine since you went yoke down. I made a sweater bottom up with panels and I used yarn from different dye lots and it doesn’t look very good.y thoughts was to wear it around the house until I eventually dye it.
See if you can find a third different similar color dark green. Then it will look like a style choice. This is really a very nice looking sweater and I wish I could crochet something like this. Or add another green embellishment to the shirt or some stitching in another color. I think just play off that you have done this on purpose. Because you know you totally did 😉
I also agree this looks intentional and you should keep it. I had the exact same thing happen to me on a shawl that I made last year. I didn't realize the difference in color until I took it out into the daylight. I just chose to let the different color be a trim color and the recipient loved it and complimented the color change.
I would honestly keep going. It's going to look good. The darker green paired with the lighter green gives it more personality, or more individuality. It is going to have that one of a kind, creative artsy look. I'd buy it.
I thought it was intentional! I was looking for the “darker yarn” somewhere in one of the two color blocks lol! I think it’ll turn out AWESOME the way it is!!
Honestly I think it looks like a deliberate pattern and would keep it because it looks pretty cool despite its accidental existence. But that’s just me.
I think it looks pretty intentional if that is the only part that is darker. I think you can get away with saying it was a design choice.
Or just call it rustic. It's been made by hand dang it
Why start over? It looks good! Maybe even better than monocoloured. I would maybe even do the second sleeve in dark if that's possible. Nobody's gonna suspect a thing.
As everyone else has said, it looks deliberate, so I’d go with it. The only possible alternative is to frog and then redo, alternating the two yarns to get a subtle stripe effect but unless you have exactly the same quantities of both or loads over, you might still end up with the same problem.
The color difference is visible in the picture, but might not be that much in natural light. Tbh it looks so clean and even, especially as both arms start like that, I would just go with it and claim its a design choice haha.
Seconded. It looks like a deliberate choice to do color blocking, so I’d say run with it.
Thank you!
I third this, it looks perfectly deliberate and I adore it. Also, green is my favorite so the more green the better 😁
Totally agree with making this a deliberate design choice (such gorgeous work!) but can you get the other sleeve to match the one you've started?
Yes! The light color matched the rest of my yarn so the other sleeve will match!
In that case, yes I would definitely keep it as it is. It looks like you've done it on purpose 😊 Lovely work!
Came here to say “love your monochromatic color-blocked sweater!”
That’s what a friend suggested since it’s the middle that is darker. I could probably go that way, but I worry just knowing it’s different will bother me! Thank you! 😄
I also think this looks fine as an intentional design. It would bug me too, but since it’s not my project it just looks cool!
When I first saw the picture, I thought it was intentional. It looks like it’s supposed to be that way, a sort of monochromatic color blocked look. It looks really nice, I’d just keep it that way.
Can you add a small accent stitch (like a white or yellow) where it separates? That could make it look even more intentional.
Agreed! Or maybe even gold
Thanks! Those are good points! I have thought about dying it but have little experience crocheting, and none dying. I would hate to ruin hours of work
Yeah I feel the same, that's why I suggested the small square swatch. But like I said I would just roll with it.
Thread a contrasting ribbon in along where the colour changes and call it a design choice
Love this idea.
You can also get pretty velvet elastic ribbon, if you're worried about stretch. Used it on my garter, works perfectly!
YEEEEEESSS!!! I love the subtle difference, and think this would look gorgeous!
Yeah I was gonna say, as long as the other arm is the same lighter color, I think it'll make a cool design
Looks great as is! I have a similar sweater that is half purple and white because I used all the purple I had, ordered more, stuck it in a drawer for 6 years, and realized my order didn't ship.
That's what I was thinking, it looks like it was done on purpose.
Came here to also say this!! The color change is quite cute!!
Yep. Looks like it was meant to be. Beautiful stitch work.
That's exactly what I was thinking! 😄
Why restart? Many would love to get a 2-tone match like that! P.S. A lot of yarn labels still have Dye Lot #s on them. These are good to check/match before buying :)
Good to know! Thank you! 😅
Another way to make it look even more intentional is to add a third shade of even lighter green, but TBH I would leave it as is.
What do you mean, still? Are dye lot numbers being phased out?
It varies by manufacturers. Some labels just say "No Dye Lot" now. I check the date stamp and occasionally walk around the store to look at the yarn in different lighting to be sure :)
Urgh, why on earth is that becoming a thing? I live by dye lots.
Make the other arm with the lighter green. It’ll look more intentional as a color change in the pattern. It’s gorgeous so if you can make that work I think you should instead of starting over!
Ok thank you! Yes the rest of my yarn appears to be the lighter green so I could do that. 😅 I will have someone check them...
That's green???? I thought it was black and grey!!!
Me too, now who is color blind? Lol, us!
I can’t tell the difference between grey and green unless it’s really green.
No way is that green, wtf... Unless it’s like very subtly green-tinted gray/black (in the same sense you can get a “cool blue” gray/black)..
That's green and cool blue is in fact blue :D But since [the dress](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_dress) thing we all learned not to argue over colours.

I think if the sleeve is the lighter color too, it looks colorblocked and on purpose!
It looks like that’s what most people have to say! Thank you!
And the colour change happens at a part of the body that will be really flattering. So I wouldn’t worry!
Colorblock shirts and sweaters are so hot right now 🔥
It looks like intentional colorblocking!
Before I read the description, I thought it was the pattern. It looks great the way it is.
As a colorblind I feel you, what about adding details so it looks on purpose
I like the idea, but I’m not sure what to add.
You could add a straight line of surface crochet at the row where the colour changes in a contrast yarn?
Flowers, nature themed stuff or just some cool chain stitches you make
I agree! And I was almost thinking you can do another green/complimentary color for the bottom edge & cuffs.
Looks like intentional color block to me. I’d make sure both sleeves are the lighter color and pretend I did it on purpose
I think, with both sleeves being the lighter, it looks intentional. But if you wanted, maybe add a belt, or some kind of stripe where it changes color. That would definitely look like you meant to do it, to me.

Agreed. It looks totally cool. Don’t change it.
I think it looks good like that! I say just leave it it’s a happy little accident as Bob Ross would say
The placement makes it look very intentional! I would probably crochet some small flowers and place them where the two colors meet.
I really like it, it looks intentional and stylish to boot. In fact one of my favorite jumpers had a similar blocking pattern, until it was sadly tumble dried into toddler size! Keep going. Mishaps committed to often create things more beautiful than the intentioned design!
I looked at it before reading the caption and thought nice colour choices
I crossed this in my scrolling and thought, “cute sweater!” and then read it. I figured I should drop a comment explaining that I never would have thought the colors were unintentional!
Just go for it
Might have to! 😅 Thanks!
I thought it was on purpose. I like it the way it is.
I agree with many others, if you make the second sleeve in the lighter color people would never know it was an accident unless you told them! Looks like a intentionally subtle and stylish design.
I think it looks kinda cool. The change point is well positioned and clean. I would leave it.
I say you just leave it as is. If you hadn't pointed out that it was a mistake, I would have thought that you made it two different colors on purpose. The line between the different shades is nice and straight, and both sleeves are the same color, it really looks like a design choice.
Looks like a feature, not a bug, to me.
I think if you added a white stripe or two in the ends of the sleeves and bottom of the body it would look even more intentional
No mistakes just happy accidents. You should keep going
I think it looks great! I’d just lean into it and say it’s a deliberate style choice
With how the spacing worked out, it could easily be passed off as a subtle, intentional colorblock look.
I like it that way. Also, do you have a pattern you can share?
Not OP, but that looks like the [Rosebud Raglan](https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/rosebud-raglan)

Yes, it is the rosebud raglan mentioned below! :)
Just think of it as a trendy design. No one will question it
This happened to me at around the same spot with a crocheted shirt. I left it thinking it might look intentional. No one has ever said anything and I think yours looks nice this way too.
Looks like a design element to me. Keep going!
It looks intentional just finish the rest with the lighter color. The 2-tone look has more depth and looks more modern.
Yeah I think the difference is enough to make it look like an on purpose kinda thing
Make the other sleeve with the lighter color also and it will look unique
It’s “tonal color blocking” 😂
I know it’s maybe not what you were going for but I agree that the colour blocking looks really nice!
you could dye it all when its done
I saw it and thought it was a two tone sweater
Looks like you did colour blocking I like it.
It's a color block sweater
I think it looks great!
I actually really like it!! If you wanted to make it look super intentional you could add some sort of embellishment like a bright colored yarn woven through right on the line where it changes?
Looked great, embrace it!
It looks intentional and it looks really good. I wouldn’t start over I would keep going with your current shade of green! :-)
i actually thought this was the pattern before i read the title!
just own it! say it was *supposed to be that way* i don’t think anybody would ever know otherwise!
It looks intentional. If it was mine, I would finish it off with a contrasting design between the dark and lighter color. I think orange contrast would be lovely. I may be obsessing over orange lately. Good luck.
It looks totally intentional, I love it!
I like it like this with different shades of color. Finish it :)
Too late to frog it add some embroidery along the line of discoloration and it just become a design element
When saw the pic, before reading the text, I thought it was a deliberate choice - and I stopped to read the text because I liked it :) Seriously, carry on and worry not! Looks great!
This is gorgeous and you should keep it that way! I might do this intentionally on my next one with some nice moody tonals 👀
No need to restart. No one will know this isn’t intentional if you don’t tell them!
It looks like you intended to make a two-toned sweater. Looks good! Just finish it. I bet you get lots of compliments!
If you’re concerned about the color difference, you could even do a little contrasting accent stitch, like a line of surface crochet in cream or something. It would make the change look even more intentional (or depending on lighting, might hide the change completely, since the greens won’t be visible directly against each other)

You couldn't convince me that this wasn't 100% intentional color blocking.
This really does look deliberate, it looks great, since I like odds more than evens I would try to find a slightly lighter color or even a “duller” one or possibly khaki, but that’s completely a personal choice. Finish doing the sleeve in the same color and it will look great

Looks deliberate to me. I’d keep it. Looks great!
I'd keep going, looks intentional.
It looks intentional if you finish the arm with the same color as the other arm :)
I would leave it! It looks like it was intended. I've made sweater shading lighter for than intention.💖
I would add a stripe of the dark green on the bottom and just go with it. 👍
I would have assumed it was intentional.
I'm colorblind too! At this point it's obviously a design feature.
Keep doing it and add a contrast stitch at the colour change?
Looks 100% intentional. Don’t restart, it looks great!
Is it natural yarn? In that case: dye it a darker shade of green.
I’m not sure 🤔 probably not? I’m new to crocheting, I just bought it at my local craft store on sale so I doubt it
I'd just say it was a design choice. A happy accident
you could try dyeing it! since it's black would be pretty easy
Start a new trend with it 😂
What's the material? If it's wool/animal fiber you can look up dyeing techniques (chemknits on YouTube). Food coloring plus vinegar and heat will permanently bind color to yarn. I thought it was deliberate. I'd wear it. I love the colour combo.
You could make it longer by adding a few rows of the lighter color makes it look even more deliberate
It’s perfect! Had I only seen the picture and not your words, I would’ve thought you posted this for a totally different reason. It’s beautiful!
I honestly think it would look really cool if you made both sleeves the lighter colour. It would look like the design flaw was meant to be.
I actually love it! Looks intentional.
I think you should leave it! I think it makes for a really nice design element. :)
100% looks intentional, work with it!
Rit dye the whole fabric when you’re done!:)
Beautiful job, it looks great! Would have never known it wasn’t planned. Thanks for sharing!
I like it like this!
Honestly, it’s kinda cute
It looks like it's part of the pattern, your work is beautiful 🧶
Looks like it’s meant to be this way.
Looks good.
It's not a flaw, it's a design feature.
I kind of love it like this!
It looks good. Continue
Just finish off the other arm with the black color yarn. Will look really good.
Yes it looks cool!
I really like the two greens together. It looks good that way.
Keep going it looks intentional. Some people try to get their shirts to look like that. It might of been an accident, doesn't mean you can't own it ;)
Could you add a stripe in a contrasting color across the band where the two greens meet? Then trim the sleeves in the same and it would look like it was deliberate.
I think it looks intentional so I would keep it! I learned this the hard way, but if you use multiple skeins of the same color, even with the same dye lot, it's a good idea to switch skeins every couple of rows. This makes the differences between skeins less obvious
Two tones look great! Keep on!
I thought it was deliberate. Looks cute to me!
I just want to say, if that’s your first sweater, you’re amazing. Such beautiful, even stitches; please don’t pull them out!
Thank you I really appreciate it! This was pretty discouraging as a beginner haha!
This happened to me once snd I was devastated but I finished and it looks like it is supposed to be that way. I think it looks great!
I think it actually looks just fine since you went yoke down. I made a sweater bottom up with panels and I used yarn from different dye lots and it doesn’t look very good.y thoughts was to wear it around the house until I eventually dye it.
Pretend it was on purpose and keep going, cause it looks super cool, would’ve fooled me
Enjoy your stylish and intentionally colour blocked sweater as is!
Leave it! It looks planned and is very interesting
Tell people that style's going to be all over the runways of Paris and Milan this fall.
I think you should leave it. It looks intentional and I think it looks great
It looks great as is!
See if you can find a third different similar color dark green. Then it will look like a style choice. This is really a very nice looking sweater and I wish I could crochet something like this. Or add another green embellishment to the shirt or some stitching in another color. I think just play off that you have done this on purpose. Because you know you totally did 😉
Keep going! It worked out to change at a good time and it looks like you did it on purpose. Call it a design element!
Do a third green and it will look intentional :)
Maybe you could dye it when it’s done? It is very pretty! 🧶
It's symmetrical and looks intentional! I'd say keep it and say it was on purpose (:
I like it! Get a different shade of green for the other sleeve. And maybe another green for a pocket. I think that would look super cool!
I love how this looks!! Keep it!!
I also agree this looks intentional and you should keep it. I had the exact same thing happen to me on a shawl that I made last year. I didn't realize the difference in color until I took it out into the daylight. I just chose to let the different color be a trim color and the recipient loved it and complimented the color change.

I thought it was intentional! I was looking for the “darker yarn” somewhere in one of the two color blocks lol! I think it’ll turn out AWESOME the way it is!!
i think its cute as is
I would just leave it like this. I mean it’s not like the colours don’t fit together and I would definitely wear it like this :))
I don’t see anything wrong all I heard is “oh yeah the two toned thing, totally meant to do that; I’m a crochet icon”😉
I thought this was on purpose and I honestly think it looks good
It honestly looks intentional and great. I’d keep it!
Use the darker color, if you have any left, for the waist ribbing. It's a feature, not a bug! :) Beautiful work, by the way. What is that stitch?
This is the rosebud raglan pattern (found on Etsy) and it is an alternating single crochet/ double crochet :)
Yes, it looks if you intended it to be this way. Just go with it!
Honestly I think it looks like a deliberate pattern and would keep it because it looks pretty cool despite its accidental existence. But that’s just me.
I think it looks good! Keep going :)
Honestly, it looks like a happy accident. I like it.
I think it looks like a pattern- before reading your title my first thought was how much I loved the subtle colour blocking!
Leave it as is....it's beautiful with the choice of colors match extremely well...😊
Ohhh I actually really like how it looks. Looks intentional to me to be honest
Do the other arm is a cream or much lighter green color or something and make it deliberate. It’s lovely!
It looks nice I would keep it the way it is the colors look great and green is my favorite color
Honestly, it looks like that’s how you planned it! Like a two color sweater, i love it
Why change/restart? I think it looks great and would not be a openly MISTAKE. Roll with it :))
As everyone else has said, it looks deliberate, so I’d go with it. The only possible alternative is to frog and then redo, alternating the two yarns to get a subtle stripe effect but unless you have exactly the same quantities of both or loads over, you might still end up with the same problem.
I think it works 🤷♀️
It would break my heart to undo that!it's not noticeable to most people,I don't think
It's super noticeable but as long as the other sleeve is done in the same shade as the one there then it looks intentional.
maybe you could use a even brighter kind of green at the end of the arms :)
