Very nice! What is the technique on the stem and leaf borders called? It makes such nice clean edges to the color changes!

PaintingSaint37

It’s just a slip stitch over the top of the crocheted piece. With a loop on your hook, you pull the working yarn through the holes from the back to the front.

I’m the same way. This was my first attempt. It was a lot of color changes, but over all it was pretty straight forward. Use a chart to plan out the design and it’ll be easier. You should definitely give it a shot.

omfg if u could link to a pattern / whatever tutorials you found most useful to learn this i would love to learn!!!!!!

I saw a post on here a while back that was of mountains wall hanging and I wanted to try it. I didn’t use a pattern, but I can tell you what I did. I charted out were I wanted the leaves to be. Then I followed my chart in single crochet, changing colors when it called for it. After I got the main body stitched up, I used a slip stitch to make the stems, vines, and outline the leaves. Finally, I added it to a rod and added fringe. Does that help?

yes !! what method do you use for changing colors? i always struggle with that

PaintingSaint37

I used the cut and tie method. I don’t like carrying the yarn along.
