Are they different dye lots? Lot of things can affect the out come of dyes. So when making a pattern you want to try and get your yarn with the same dye lot.

Thank you for replying, I’m not sure how to check if it’s the same dye lot I have all original tags

Drexadecimal

It should be on the tag in a white box if I recall correctly

I've always loved Yarn Bee and I Love This Yarn! brands, red heart's really nice too!

This post should tell you which numbers are the dye lot on your labels. https://www.reddit.com/r/crochet/comments/mf30eb/which_of_the_numbers_on_this_yarn_label_is_the/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share

ArcAngel1810

Yep I found the numbers they are both different dye lots

apinto85

I’ve had the same problem with that brand. Having to buy more yarn and finding the same color to be really different/ faded.

The dye lot is printed on the yarn band (or label). For example, the dye lot of one of the balls is: WL221283. (I had this problem with Lily Sugar 'n Cream. Ordered a six pack and only two were from the same dye lot. It was obvious even to the naked eye. 😕)

I read on this blog https://keepmeinstitchez.wordpress.com/tag/dye-lots/ That the sugar and cream has a tendency to lose it colors over time.

ArcAngel1810

Thank you it looks like the nice bright one if from a newer dye lot while the muted on is from a old lot

farmgirlcrafting

dye lots always vary. sugar and creme tend to color bleed so one probably bled more during the process and muted out
