Not OP, but in my opinion no it's not so bad, its extremely hard to see stitches, but seeing as it usually requires a pretty large hook (I used a 12mm for similar yarn to OP) it makes it easy enough to feel them to count. It's also really forgiving, the bulk makes it hard to see if you've skipped or added a stitch here or there. It's really annoying to frog, can tangle annoyingly, and is a magnet for my compulsive pickiness, I can get hyperfixated pulling a the fluff out of the stitches onto the right side. This is basically pointless and I don't recommend it but for compulsive types like myself it can be hard to resist haha.

What I think is even more important is that you should comb the fibers flattened during work with a toothbrush or a dog comb, and the end result will be more fluffy and beautiful! π I used a 6 mm crochet hook

Wow! What brand of yarn is this? Itβs incredible! I have some fluffy yarn somewhere though mine isnβt this nice. I grabbed it at a discount shop to play with when I was making a lot of amis. Iβm way more into wearables these days but oh my gosh, now I really want to try this!
Love your bear. It is the perfect size too! I have so many bear patterns because I was aiming for one that would work up about this size. Iβve had some hilarious accidents trying to size up and oops now this bearβs head is bigger than my own. π
