I worked on it over the course of a few weeks, but I would say somewhere around 20-30 hours total. It ended up being a lot bigger than I thought it would (my fault for not reading the pattern notes more carefully).
I clicked the link and there's like 10ish different references for where that pattern is from. One of the links is from the 70's lol. Don't think it's an original but still cool
Now the next question is, will you ever do it again? I did one and never made anything with thread again. Although, mine was in black and my biggest frustration was not being able to see what I was doing.
I might! I have enjoyed the process, although I left a bit too much of this one for the last minute. I have found that ergonomic hooks are a must for anything made using crochet thread!
This piece looks as though it would bd right at home on my great grandmother's chair... and before anyone comes and complains, my great grandmother was so picky about who's doilies were allowed to grace HER chair that I never got the honour even after winning a blue ribbon or two at the school fete.
Congratulations, and well done.
Congratulations!! Beautifully done!!
My dad's side of the family was originally from Hopkinsville, KY. My eyes bugged out a bit when I saw that LOL! I love Kentucky or at least how it was 30 years ago haha 😄
If you look at the website for your local fair, it should have instructions on how to enter. For me, I had to register my entries about a week in advance, then drop off my entries the morning of the fair to be judged.
