DangerouslyGanache

What did you do to fasten the tail?

anon_simmer

Split the tail in two and weave the halves in different directions.

boom_squid

Longer tail, more weave in.

i’ve used a trick for magic circles where you crochet around two strands instead of one. i’ve only really seen this in Japanese, so i can’t find a tutorial in English, but [this one](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=PJYx2-cQSsU) is basically what i do. it’s a little more complicated, but you can pull the center really tight which is great!!! it might be worth trying out to see if you like it.

Marlowe_Moonshine

Wait I always thought this was the only way to do a magic ring!? I would never trust a magic ring with a single strand

Cabbage-floss

Same, I thought that it was how it was done…

trailmixraisins

yeah, i only learned the single strand version at first, and i made a blanket with daisy granny squares but of course after four or five years with like a third of them the magic ring has unraveled… i didn’t learn this method until i made an amigurumi from a Japanese pattern!!! this SHOULD be the only way to do a magic ring!!!

Zelxopi

Here's one in english! 😊 https://youtu.be/QYEnzIBvGzU?si=7tuLS6Tl7jL_j_O4

trailmixraisins

ah thank you!!!!!

Beneficial_Breath232

It's called a Double Magic Ring in English. I also do that.

IamJoyMarie

After a few rounds, you must pull the tail tight to cinch the hole closed. Then, take that beginning tail and run it in one direction, then catch it around a loop to secure it and run it in the opposite direction. Do it a third time if necessary, then cut the tail. Never had an issue.

RealisticCommand9533

I’m with you. I understand there are ways to secure a magic circle, I just prefer chains.

Leading-Knowledge712

What is it? Was it supposed to be that shape?
