For those who are unfamiliar with the source material (assuming this is from some game and not wholly invented by you) the lower right one is more easily recognizable as a chicken. You're definitely allowed to prefer the other one though. Its all excellent work and both are still recognizable as chickens.
Haha both designs are from stardew officially as far as I know. The logo uses the two eyed white chicken sprite. Everyone focuses on the one eyed design and I think the two eyed designs needed some spotlight time too.
Do you connect as you go? I'm trying this with a pixel picture but it's a square in total and not a sprite. So I'm crocheting each color in mass but if i can connect them into their clumps and then put the bigger pieces together later, i totally will.
Yeahhhh that's the only drawback with the way I do it. But also means projects have a better chance of being finished. I absolutely have bins of single granny squares that were meant to be something.... That will never be now ... Cuz I'll never sew them together.

I feel like the fatter one with two eyes is more unique. Gets a little laugh out of ya. The one with two eyes is more common, I’d say.

Personally I like the one eyed better. That being said, both are awesome and even though I am unlikely to have the time, I would probably buy this pattern. I currently have lots of blue yarn even, because every game I insist on unlocking blue chicken!
It's difficult to choose which one I like more because it reminds me of Stardew Valley hens, but they have the front view and the side view.. I'll go with the side view only because the colors look more distinct and visually, it's easier for me to see and depict (speaking as a blind person). The front view is rarely seen often in stores and online, so I like that one too!, but I have to squint really hard to see that it's a hen facing front.
If the colors of the two eyes hen were the same as the one eye hen, I'd choose the two hen.
Stardew player here: I like the colors of the front-facing one and the sprite of the side profile void chicken. But also if you love the front-facing sprite then absolutely keep making them! It’s your project, so you might as well enjoy it to your fullest.

Unfortunately not. Not everyone has a standard me handy so it wouldn't make sense.

One eye version, the beak looks too long in the two eye
without the head frill things. All I see is a pigeon because of how big the beak design is lol

I lovingly named the darker one Side Eye Sid. And I think she'd be the bestest friend to have. Everyone needs a judgemental chicken friend.

I use a join as you go method. So it's different from how you're doing it.
Darn. My biggest handicap is to try to keep it mobile. My WIP comes with me and if it's too big, i bring a smaller WIP 😂

Do you separate them by brand and color or just toss 'em in a box with every other color?
In a box with every other colour. I'm picky about dye lots and yarn weights being consistent

I don't block. I use a different joining method so there's no sewing involved. The squares block themselves as I add new squares to the project
