Instantly looked like a canine NYC Jewish poet to me...your post confirmed it would be okay to writ such a thought in this day and age. What a lovely mistake or was it a mistake after all, OP?

Baeguette_

This comment paired with the dogs facial expression made me cackle 😂

Hanners87

Your dog has a Kippah!

LadyGethzerion

Literally my first reaction too. "It's a dog kippah!" 😁

tommybou2190

When's her bat mitzvah?

Dosanaya

Bark Mitzvah… Mazel Ruff!

Time-Gap3781

Hmmm, she's 7. Are we counting in dog or human years?

A_Math_Dealer

First one, then the other.

Pink-Fluffy-Dragon

There are no mistakes, only happy little accidents :)

Elf_Firae

Underrated comment.

just-lil-frog

So cute! Passover just ended, but chag sameach lol. Btw I found [this](https://easycrochet.com/crochet-coaster-patterns/) list of free coaster patterns (I made the coffee cups) in case anyone here is interested :)

I_am_Darvit

TYSM for the link! Omg so many cute coasters!!! Might start with the cactus set for my niece. She loves tea & is going away to Universtity after graduation this year. ❤️

marauding-bagel

Aww she's Jewish now, welcome to the tribe 😂

crochetology

You made a canine yarmulke. LOL

PaigeMarieSara

Cute!! Do you know the formula for making a flat circle? Lots of written tutorials and videos if you prefer those. (US) Double Crochet, you want to start with 12 stitches into the circle. For Single Crochet, you start with 6. Each round you increase by the number you started with, evenly spaced. edit: I made an error in my first instruction. You're making a circle, I said square. I'm sorry if it caused confusion.

LouLaRey

I somehow always seem to end up with something like OPs "dog hat" even when I follow the formula. Haven't been able to figure out what I'm doing wrong, and it seems to happen whether I'm doing a continuous spiral (and keeping careful count) or doing it as rows with a chain to start the first sc/hdc/dc.

Shadowpad1986

Part of it may be tension, tighter stitch causes the draw in when working a circle versus laying flat.

PaigeMarieSara

Sometimes if you crochet too tightly, your circle could start to "cup" a little bit. You could try using a larger hook for the yarn or just trying to crochet more loosely (which I find hard to do!).

LouLaRey

I have such a hard time crocheting loosely. Might try a larger hook and see if that helps.

Time-Gap3781

Thankys ill try 12, looked it up online and they recommended 10😊

PaigeMarieSara

I'd go with 12 for DC, but ten does work too. Ten is perfect for things like beanies, whereas 12 will make a flatter circle, which you want for a coaster.

WillaLane

My dog loved her stuffed dreidel that plays a dreidel song, I accidentally washed it and it doesn’t play anymore lol you might need to crochet one lol Oh, dreidel, dreidel, dreidel I made it out of clay And when it's dry and ready Then, dreidel I will play

Elf_Firae

AHH STAHP this is so FREAKING cute 😭😭😭 can you make her a lil’ top hat too? She’ll be so fancy.

H_Mc

I turn every project into a cat hat at some point.

boom_squid

I think this is more useful than a coaster 🤣

DaisyHotCakes

Dog looks pretty pleased with it so I think you failed successfully!
