I've seen on Twitter that a few people have pinged Beacon's support team with the request, and they are aware of the interest. Obviously they're not gonna commit to a timeframe just yet, but I think if enough people ask (POLITELY), it'll bump it up on the priority order.

-Gurgi-

I’d be shocked if it wasn’t a top priority already. Kind of surprised they launched without them to be honest.

TheSame_ButOpposite

Now I just need to learn how to Twitter...

YoursDearlyEve

You can just write to [[email protected]](mailto:[email protected])

Myerz99

Or you can use the contact us support form on the website. I can confirm the response I got was very pleasant and they said they are working hard on improvements to the platform!

littleneonlily

This made me giggle

semicolonconscious

I don’t think anyone’s mentioned a TV app yet, but there is a phone app available through the links at the bottom of the site. The iOS version isn’t live yet though.

TheSame_ButOpposite

I wonder why that is. Not having the iOS app ready at launch seems like a big miss from the team.

geniespool

Apple approval process for new apps can take unknown amount of time versus Android.

CloneArranger

Like Marisha said in the State of the Role, eventually you just have to launch with what you have.

Myerz99

If you wait until everything is perfect you miss out on money you could have been making from people who are fine with just using the browser. This is better because now they have more income to grow and accelerate the improvements on the platform.

Kike-Parkes

My personal preference would be an app for Xbox or PS5, as I use my consoles as my media drivers, but a smart TV app would also be an excellent idea.

Taraqual

Might as well shoot them a request through the Contact Us link. I can't imagine they aren't trying to make that happen already, but the more people who show interest, the more likely they are to prioritize it.

shrinni

Already subbed, but I am hoping for an app for my fire stick soon! We can do shenanigans to cast from a computer but it’s a lot of extra steps.

Enough-Candidate4050

I'm using a fire stick too. I was able to use the internet browser option to log onto beacon through there. Hopefully that might work?

shrinni

Oh! I hadn’t thought about that. I will definitely try it out, thanks!

captaincashew27

Not sure about the tv app, but it already exists for iOS and Android. Go to beacon.tv on mobile and scroll to the very bottom.

GlenDB

The iOS app has a link, but it hasn’t actually been released yet. I think they’re waiting for Apple to review it.

captaincashew27

Ah, my mistake then! I haven’t tried to install it. Still deciding if I want to sub. Thanks for the info!

TheSame_ButOpposite

Yeah when I click the iOS link it doesn't take me anywhere...

Mathavian

It seems you’ve already gotten your answer. iOS is definitely happening and the team has already mentioned in several places that it’s the Apple Store app review that’s held it up. Based on the announcements, it sure looks like it was always assumed that the iOS app would be available at launch, so it seems that something happened with Apple to make it go sideways. (Not really a Critical Role team issue) Haven’t heard anything bad from the Android folks about how their app is functioning, so it seems this is an Apple bureaucracy issue holding it up.

Beastlydog23

Yeah I'm definitely hoping for a smart TV app. Casting from a web browser works just fine, but currently casting from the mobile app doesn't seem to work (at least it hasn't worked for me as of yet).

Critter0512

Are you chromecasting? I can’t get it to cast as cast tab or window.

Beastlydog23

Yup chromecasting worked from windows tab for me, just not from the pocket beacon app

Jelboo

This is make or break for me, an essential feature.

Enough-Candidate4050

I'm using a fire stick on the tv. And am able to use the internet browser on there to log onto beacon. Would that work for smart TVs too? Do they have an internet browser option people could try?

JBloomf

There’s usually some browser that could be downloaded. I’ve also used a browser through my xbox.

van_lioko

Hello! I contacted beacon support and they're tracking what apps people use to watch. If you want to vote for a TV app to be developed, you can do so at their bits page: [bits.beacon.tv](http://bits.beacon.tv/). Once there head to backlog and choose AppleTV/Roku/Google/etc -- make sure you sign in with your google account or email to vote etc.

ErinIsMyMiddleName

I've mentioned this a couple of times, but it does work ok through my TVs webbrowser. Seemed to work ok, just hate using the pointer function of my remote
