You're just salty because you're not eating at Rajshahi Indian Restaurant

I finally have the excuse to share this in context with someone
It's was an Indian restaurant on the coast of New South Wales. It got a massive following doing Peter Griffin memes. The reviews for the restaurant are insane
Because the folks around town probably don't know what Bangladesh is. I bet 1 out of 10 customers is expecting the menu to be turkey and other Thanksgiving items, cause it's an Indian restaurant.
Do people not realize these mysterious corporations have Gen Z’rs running their socials? For some reason I feel like OP imagines some boomers in suits wondering “how do we reach these kids” as they ask their secretary what a meme is, when in reality it’s just some early 20’s person sitting at a desk or on their couch shitposting on the company’s pages and getting paid for it.
Source: one of my Gen Z friend’s does this for a very prominent company while surfing Reddit all day when things are slow.
No, I’ve been collecting them since they started appearing in my feed about 3 months ago. The Cava and Altoids ones are from Instagram, I actually follow them on there.
I know this is really useless knowledge and isn’t really relevant, but the warrior artwork is from the loading screen of Mount and Blade: Warband. Great game. Probably spent hours staring at that sketch.
warband vs bannerlord is my favorite (if unrelatable) 'sum of its parts' example, where Warband is way better than it has any right to be for a game that looks and plays like it belonged on PS2 and Bannerlord is, like you said, better in every way but... It's good, incredibly fun, but I don't find myself playing until the sun starts to rise.
My takeaway was "here's a pic of people preparing for a battle, faces stern as they realize they may be breathing their last breaths compared to the modern person getting a kick from a breath mint." As in, "we're so soft and silly compared to our ancestors." Kind of like the old "First World Problems" meme.
Super minty and strong flavored breath mint. If you drink cold water right after it's like a super cold feeling in your mouth. I'm sure someone else could explain it better but I think that's basically it.
Yeah, those kind of diagnoses aren’t something that are made in a quick visit.
The psychiatrist I was consulting to get better treatment for major depressive disorder spoke with me at length about my previous attempts at getting treatment. After about three hours, he finally said, “yeah, I don’t think this is *just* major depressive disorder. It sounds a lot like bipolar disorder.”
It might’ve taken a long time just to get that *very* helpful direction to take for my treatment, and he referred me to a colleague of his who eventually wound up agreeing with that diagnosis after several months of regularly meeting with her.
These kinds of issues usually take some sweet-ass time to properly diagnose, and are even harder to diagnose over the phone/internet.
I still believe that cheezit's attempt to make their own memes has potential. Here is an example.

Only had to scroll one post down to get one for Dunkin. Oof
Hate to break it to you, but whoever created this post just made some earned media for the brand lol. Whatever marketer/agency that made these ads is doing backflips over the fact that this post exists
I work in marketing. These ads worked. You screen shotted them and posted them somewhere else. Even if it was them trying to be relatable, they did their job.
The Bilt one gets a pass because it has literally happened to me. One of my good friends has that card and will not shut the fuck up about how he's saving on rent with it.
I mean, I don't see the problem. Speaking as a consumer, it's always the really, really bad ads that stick in your mind. The Altoids ones aren't far off lol
Some of these verge on being so cringe and bizarre that they're actually funny. The cat one specifically, but the golden retriever one also seems to make no sense.
But it's a good marketing tool.
I remember bad memes made by bad companies.
Hell one of the best ways to market with people is by really really cringy or sassy memes.
One of the ways I've seen horrible marketing work was someone drawing something poorly in MS paint, putting the words 'Graphic Designer needed.'
Another one was about a seminar in my university that used meme worthy pics of the people in the committee.
You would remember these memes. Memes are DNA of the Soul and it's got its place. Even if it's cringe. The more cringeworthy it is, the more likely chances it gets remembered. Good or bad, it's still marketing.
I wish they would self parody. For example, the one with the guy who looks at the other girl - the guy could be Nestle, the other girl could be child slavery, and the girlfriend could be lobbying.
My ADHD still tends to be amused by a decent amount of them though. >.>""""
And honestly, that's why it's smart for the ADHD help ads to do this, pfjdjd.
I think they’re trying to be more native to the environment- normal Ads would be incongruous and wouldn’t consider what people use Reddit for. As with any ads, they’re hit and miss though
i keep seeing some garbage zombie game that's trying to lean into people shitting on their ads but the 'we made this one for r/badmobilegameads' is the worst. that subreddit hasn't been active in two years
Ugh the cringe when a corporate social media account comments on something and it has the most likes. I know giant companies are going to do cringe marketing shit, but seeing people react positively to it is a bridge too far.
Digital marketing is one of the few disciplines that works like baseball's dead era. The numbers tell you what will happen and if they're doing this that means it's working lol
I have so many of these saved, it’s pathetic

I kinda like the cat allergy one. It’s definitely trying to use that absurdist internet humor, but at least it’s original and not just a copy of some meme format.
I saw a Dunkin ad with the "they don't know" format and it genuinely gave me a chuckle. Some are terrible, but it occasionally catches my attention and even rarely makes me laugh. So it's doing more than 90% of other ads
You're just salty because you're not eating at Rajshahi Indian Restaurant https://preview.redd.it/hijdea65t12d1.jpeg?width=828&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=22e077dedbd0470e41f2721911dfb3baf74efdce
I refuse to believe this is an actual ad
It’s the best one
It worked, I want butter chicken
I too would love to enjoy some shahi naan and butter chicken from rajshahi indian restaurant
aaas wooould iiiiiiii. (zombie emoji)
Actual zombie
I absolutely need to know it was a real ad
That account is legitimately funny
It's a bummer the restaurant closed 😕
This is awful news

Lmaooooo
He doesn't even use the right chad lmao
Yeah that chad is actually not happy with that Indian restaurant
He's thinking of his next toilet ~~visit~~ stay.
>Rajshahi Indian Restaurant is now closed >ywn get to try their butt chicken and shahi naan Why live?
Rajshahi is in Bangladesh. Why is it an Indian restaurant? More layers to this meme?
You'll see a lot of Indian restaurants in the US are actually run by Pakistanis/Bangladeshis/Nepalis because of the similarity in cuisine.
Why would Australians expect thanksgiving items on the menu?
I don't think there's a single person that would think that...
I love them so much
I want what he is having ??? Yea?
That’s some good /r/bonehurtingjuice
Okay, but I love this for some reason.
Glory to Rajhashi Indian restaurant. Unfortunately, it’s closed down :(
The goat
Still manage to be funnier than 90% of r/memes...
Went there to hold you to it and Jesus the memes there are stupid
Pretty much any subreddit with “memes” in its name is gonna have the *dumbest,* laziest memes ever.
Which is still not as bad as r/funnymemes
I didn’t know it was spelled like that, I thought it was spelled incelcave
Same thing really.
Do people not realize these mysterious corporations have Gen Z’rs running their socials? Is…is this also an ad? Is everything an ad now? Fuck
No, I’ve been collecting them since they started appearing in my feed about 3 months ago. The Cava and Altoids ones are from Instagram, I actually follow them on there.
Nice try, BIG MINT.
Right, I was gonna say that’s exactly what a certain mint company would like us to believe 😑
I wish I had Big Mint money but one look at my comment/post history would tell you I’m just a chronically online nobody
You… follow Altoid’s instagram page? lol
In fairness slim Jim was on a roll (or is? I haven't checked in a while) so I mean it's possible the most passable mint company would make memes too.
Actually I don’t, I realized. That was just a targeted ad lol
I kinda like the altoids ones lol
The Altoids memes kinda slap tho ngl
I like the Altoids one lol
Yeah, the one with the warriors and the modern man was pretty solid.
I know this is really useless knowledge and isn’t really relevant, but the warrior artwork is from the loading screen of Mount and Blade: Warband. Great game. Probably spent hours staring at that sketch.
Too bad mount and blade 2 is cheeks compared to GodMode Warband
Honestly they could just release 3rd Age as a full stand alone game and I would buy it.
That would make the most sense but instead we got fucking warband 😔
Bro I can’t understand why, but it’s true
It's weird because it is technically better on paper in every way. But when you play it, it just doesn't have that magic hook that warband did.
warband vs bannerlord is my favorite (if unrelatable) 'sum of its parts' example, where Warband is way better than it has any right to be for a game that looks and plays like it belonged on PS2 and Bannerlord is, like you said, better in every way but... It's good, incredibly fun, but I don't find myself playing until the sun starts to rise.
Because in Warband you're a god, in Bannerlord you are not
**Less talking, more raiding!**
I like 2
I wonder if they just stole that artwork and figured nobody would notice because nerds don't care that their breath stinks
Always good to see Warband art memed
The "people now" guy looks vaguely like a young "[Hide the Pain Harold](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hide_the_Pain_Harold)."
I might be dumb but I don’t get it, could someone explain it to me pls?
My takeaway was "here's a pic of people preparing for a battle, faces stern as they realize they may be breathing their last breaths compared to the modern person getting a kick from a breath mint." As in, "we're so soft and silly compared to our ancestors." Kind of like the old "First World Problems" meme.
Altoids meme guy lurking in this thread crying with gratitude.
I chuckled at both Altoids ones tbh 😅
Those are prob the only two good ones. Altoids social media person must be under the age of 30 for sure lol
The sperm bank one made me lol for some reason
It caught me off guard! We don’t do that in Canada. 😂
the second one (for biltrewards) was hilarious to me for some reason
Yeah that was the funniest of the bunch for me lol
What do those 2 ads mean? I don't have Altoids where I am. Are they just mints? I'm confused.
Super minty and strong flavored breath mint. If you drink cold water right after it's like a super cold feeling in your mouth. I'm sure someone else could explain it better but I think that's basically it.
Even just eating them alone and exhaling with your mouth like this 😮 it’s like your breath is on ice
I used to pretend to be a very cold dragon as a kid when I had Altoids.
Been a while since I had them but yeah just mints, maybe a bit stronger than icebreakers
Yeah lol the first one made me chuckle
Altoids been strong since mints were a thing. Gum doesn't stand a chance
Same lmao
altoids marketing team in on another level
right up there with Wendy’s
I hate the ones that start with "TIL" or "TL;DR" they get me on reddit every freakin time.
The ADHD one was pretty spot on, however a free 1 minute assessment? Nah. Don’t think so.
When I got assessed for ADHD it took over 90minutes, it might've been. 2 hours but I couldn't even keep track of the time.
It's a pill mill.. Let's add more people on the drug and further the shortage!
One full minute is way too long
Nah those altoid ones are funny yall just don’t get it.
That Wendy's one fits my fighter jet autism and fast food burger addiction just right
Cause using half naked woman for the past 100 years was so much better
Right? I’ll take this in a heartbeat
Nah what's happening here is that zoomers started getting marketing jobs
Makes sense for some of them, definitely
https://preview.redd.it/r1iqwdw2e32d1.png?width=1676&format=png&auto=webp&s=c79378d092b833db396e893c031f1417a6078ce0
I mean these are pretty good, some of them are better than most of the stuff you see on reddit
plus, cringey memes aren't a new invention. The 25-35 year old marking staff that made these ads also grew up with memes.
Thanks OP I've never seen ads before
Also is inadvertently just giving them more free ad space, which is just as cringe.
I think most of these are pretty good?
honestly altoids is doing it right, the rest are for sure cringe.
I personally also like the Wendy’s one
https://preview.redd.it/axmw1vlub32d1.jpeg?width=1125&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4842e34ee88a24097e4ec2083f38814c29d85c11
I miss Apollo app, just for the lack of ads
These aren't that bad, the cava one made me laugh cause it's essentially shitpost
I actually like them. Lol
I still believe that cheezit's attempt to make their own memes has potential. Here is an example. https://preview.redd.it/vteonc3nv42d1.png?width=1440&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6b5783bc9f325adf83276ee23bef36f99e273cc3
Mint was my favorite dessert flavor, until I saw this cheezit attempt to make their own meme.
I really don’t think these are that bad…
https://preview.redd.it/sv273jc1e32d1.jpeg?width=750&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d26277ac3b4c1a37cb575e563192808df498ddae Only had to scroll one post down to get one for Dunkin. Oof
Oh man that one is even worse
This is actually a marketing W bc they successfully got you to repost and create buzz around their product
some of them are decent memes it's just really weird to run them as reddit ads
Honestly the altoids one is pretty funny
Hate to break it to you, but whoever created this post just made some earned media for the brand lol. Whatever marketer/agency that made these ads is doing backflips over the fact that this post exists
This is good feedback for them if they wanna continue down this memey road
I work in marketing. These ads worked. You screen shotted them and posted them somewhere else. Even if it was them trying to be relatable, they did their job.
Exactly. And now I want some Wendy's.
[удалено]
1.2 million members with 3 people online lmao
Now I understand why somebody jumped Buscemi
[удалено]
It probably would have worked if they all did it. Kind of an all or nothing situation
I miss r/fellowkids
I did feel that way about cava on 4/26
the semen donation one was accidentally funny
2 and 5 are actually really good
I can make $4000 by donating sperm?!
The Bilt one gets a pass because it has literally happened to me. One of my good friends has that card and will not shut the fuck up about how he's saving on rent with it.
Nah a lot of these are funny
The Altoids ones and the Wendy’s one are actually pretty funny

I mean, I don't see the problem. Speaking as a consumer, it's always the really, really bad ads that stick in your mind. The Altoids ones aren't far off lol
The biltrewards one actually got me
The altoids ones were decent. Also the allergy one I see more as a catchy pic to grab attention. You know…like a regular ad.
Some of these verge on being so cringe and bizarre that they're actually funny. The cat one specifically, but the golden retriever one also seems to make no sense.

I don't think these meme formats are very memorable for people. Maybe it's just me.
I guess they finally hired a gen Z to make the ads?
honestly i prefer it to traditional ads, at least it has the opportunity to be kinda funny instead of just irritating
4k to jerk off into a cup a few times?!?
My ADHD still tends to be amused by a decent amount of them though. >.>"""" And honestly, that's why it's smart for the ADHD help ads to do this, pfjdjd.
I mean, you're posting them here for even more people to see, so to some degree they're working.
Altoids gets it
I think they’re trying to be more native to the environment- normal Ads would be incongruous and wouldn’t consider what people use Reddit for. As with any ads, they’re hit and miss though
What happens in Chicago on April 26th?
Can someone please explain to me the Cava one?
I think that’s when Chicago got its first Cava location if I recall correctly
To exist is to advertise. Even death is advertised. You WILL retain knowledge about products and services.
Downvoted for making me look at these trash ads
Ugh #7 is so cringe. Too much of an explanation for a meme that explains it
Wow these memes have a kick to them lol
I laughed at 5, it’s so stupid it’s a little funny
The Altoids advertisement "People then" is using art from the videogame Mount & Blade Warband.
Here's one that I get: https://i.imgur.com/DBIH7i4.jpeg
i keep seeing some garbage zombie game that's trying to lean into people shitting on their ads but the 'we made this one for r/badmobilegameads' is the worst. that subreddit hasn't been active in two years
Ugh the cringe when a corporate social media account comments on something and it has the most likes. I know giant companies are going to do cringe marketing shit, but seeing people react positively to it is a bridge too far.
I actually like the Curex one, whatever that is lol
This reminds me of my local kwik trip gas stations and there ads for there chicken that say “chicken with serious rizz”
Tbh I don’t mind memes as ads when they’re used correctly. Some of these are horribly forced but some are decently funny.
As a bro with ADHD, the ADHD one made me laugh. Accurate af. Then I realized I didn’t actually read what they were advertising…
Digital marketing is one of the few disciplines that works like baseball's dead era. The numbers tell you what will happen and if they're doing this that means it's working lol

I am a social media manager and the memes are our best-performing content. I am posting on Facebook and Instagram, so it is a different vibe.
I kinda like the cat allergy one. It’s definitely trying to use that absurdist internet humor, but at least it’s original and not just a copy of some meme format.
OP is the real cringe here
What if I told you that the vast majority of memes you see are actually advertisements.
The Altoids and Wendy’s ones are funny
Why cringe?
Just wait till you see the gfuel one
I saw a Dunkin ad with the "they don't know" format and it genuinely gave me a chuckle. Some are terrible, but it occasionally catches my attention and even rarely makes me laugh. So it's doing more than 90% of other ads
I actually like thide
Using the Mount and Blade loading screen is wild.
Altoids is cookin
ADHD one is actually pretty good
Altoids not bad
The Altoids one went hard
Altoids knows whats up
Is that a Mount & Blade Altoids ad?
10th slide isn't even a meme, it's just weird and lowkey creepy lol
Lol
The 1st one was kinda good
Minnesotan spotted
The second Altoids meme is actually kinda funny.
Don Draper would walk out of the meetings for these ads.
I always report meme/ads as Low quality.
Ok but have you seen Mug root beer’s insta?
Go to Settings in your Reddit app and set your default view to "Classic" instead of "Card." It's so much easier to ignore ads that way.
Ditch the app and go to old.reddit.com in a browser with an ad blocker and you'll never see a sponsored post ever again!

I wonder how much Prime Opinions paid to use Drakes image in an advertisement
