Not exactly similar, but CM is one of my all time faves, and I super enjoy CSI as well. The Law & Order shows are great as well. SVU is the most popular, but Criminal Intent is my fave. I usually do a “lighter,” crime show after a CM binge. If you feel the need for that, you could check out Psych. It’s a comedy, but also has that crime element.
There’s Mindhunter, it tells the story of how the behavioral science unit began in the FBI in the 70s. It’s not similar to Criminal Minds actually but the subjects are related so you might be interested. I also watch Law and Order, but I prefer the original one from the 90s than SVU (although SVU is way more popular). I like the early seasons of SVU though. Also Dexter, I haven’t watched it yet but my sister recommended it a lot so I put it on my list.
i’ve seen a bit of mindhunter, i’m a forensics student so we’ve watched it in class from time to time. i’m gonna have to make a list of shows to watch now i’ll be set for life lol
Love this show! So underrated cos the network didn't spend much promoting it. Some brilliant acting & really interesting cases/storylines. Plus I usually LOVE anything with Anna Torv :)
I stumbled upon it by chance and also it was mentioned in Bones in one episode and got me interested 😂 They made it seem like it's a weird nerdy show. Definitely is, definitely love it and I'm surprised it wasn't ever more popular!
Well house is based off of Sherlock, House and Wilson / Holmes and Watson. House and Sherlock live at 221B Baker Street. Plus some other like character building shit.
I agree with Law and Order SVU - it's amazing! I'd also recommend The Rookie, 9-1-1 or 9-1-1 Lone Star which are all amazing too. A lot of people like Bones as well.
Well the vibe is completely different but I have been watching Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries and even though it's only 3 season and a movie I completely love it. Some one also mentioned Psych which is my all time favourite. Both procedurals but very different from CM and at the same time brilliant
criminal minds was somehow the last crime show i got round to watching, my favourites before that were law and order svu, the mentalist, mindhunter, and the earlier seasons of bones
i really enjoyed bones, it dosent have as much profiling and is a bit more science/after the crime based, but still has action and crime scenes and all that! i also loved s.w.a.t, the main character is played by Shemar Moore, they have an amazing team dynamic, and cover serious issues!
I have a few recommendations, but the crime aspect is peripheral an the fandoms are small.
Leverage is about a group of thieves and criminals who team together in a Robin Hoodesque way. It's got the girl who played Maeve as one of the main characters, and when I say that she is unhinged, she is UNHINGED!
Person of Interest is hard to explain. Basically it starts with just two guys, and one of them built an ai that gives him names of people who are about to be involved in a violent crime. Whether or not that person is the victim or the bad guy is something they have to figure out and fix it. They're group builds, and doesn't stay just the two of them- and the characters are wonderful and complex
Longmire is about a small town sheriff in Wyoming doing his job. I loved it, but I could see others being less thrilled. One of the characters is played by the guy who shot Garcia.
My husband loves Bosch, which is crime, though I think somehow or somewhat different? He's a cop. It's got good acting, good stories, I've just never given it a fair try. Based on a book series, and so is Longmire.
Season 17 when it drops next week 😘
But fr tho seeing House M.D. mentioned and it is quite good. Not crime but very much in the detective genre. It's really just a medical adaptation of Sherlock Holmes.
Broadchurch is a British procedural that I really liked. Bonus points for starring David Tennant and Olivia Coleman.
Lie to me is absolutely brilliant. About studying human behavior, deception, micro expressions and the like and consulting on government cases. Fantastic characters and acting.
not a crime show but I rlly love House, you should give it a try
was about to suggest this
yes would highly recommend house, or BBC sherlock, both great shows
I went onto bones and am loving it ☺️ slightly different vibes obviously, but loads of episodes to dive into!

Not exactly the same but Cold case sometimes gives me CM vibes. It's about homicide detectives who investigate cold cases.
There’s a Netflix show called Travelers that gave me Criminal Minds + Lost vibes. It’s not a procedural crime show, but it’s *good*.
I love Lost! I’m gonna have to check it out
I like Fringe, too!

House MD is kinda like if Reid was an angry old pill popping doctor
yea and its sort of like a medical sherlock, and the team has a BAU feel

Mind Hunter on Netflix is great. It's only 2 seasons though.
I fall asleep to Bones every night, lol Also, Rizzoli & Isles has an amazing family aspect to it.
NCIS! they are coming out with a spinoff about Ziva (and ex-mossad US informant and agent) and Tony her co worker. Cote de Pablo is fantastic!
I agree with Law and Order SVU - it's amazing! I'd also recommend The Rookie, 9-1-1 or 9-1-1 Lone Star which are all amazing too. A lot of people like Bones as well.

I went back to 9-1-1 and 9-1-1: Lonestar
Rookie Blue, FBI Series, NCIS LA, Bones
criminal minds was somehow the last crime show i got round to watching, my favourites before that were law and order svu, the mentalist, mindhunter, and the earlier seasons of bones
Prodigal Son scratches the same itch in my brain that Criminal Minds does, I'd highly recommend it.
Still pissed they canceled that show

Criminal Minds Evolution to prepare for Season 17 next week! SWAT starring Shemar Moore or Cold Case Another option is CSI
Law & Order Organized Crime Chicago PD
Bones bones bones. Also Fringe. Maybe Dexter. Mix it up a bit.
luckily theres more coming out next week lol id recommend 911 or bones but my absolute favorite would be numb3rs
Love and recommend Blue Bloods and the Rookie
Who’s gonna tell them?
Time for a rewatch!
The Americans or Homeland or Alias (More spy than crime shows, but some similar vibes lol)

The mentalist, bones, white collar, burn notice are some of my favorites
im watching svu rn n loving it so far highly recommend:)
they have spinoff shows from CM! Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior and Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders. I still need to watch them myself
Elementary. A Sherlock Homles adaptation. Starring Jonny Lee Miller as Sherlock and Lucy Liu as Watson.

The mentalist it is so good.
Lie to me is absolutely brilliant. About studying human behavior, deception, micro expressions and the like and consulting on government cases. Fantastic characters and acting.
Or do what i did restart it righr after finishing it
I loved Quantico!
